Yeah 444 gang
A few years ago I read a book that trained me to read words in groups rather than each individual word. So visually I’m seeing “i still have...” “many wonderful memories” “from when I was a kid.” With that said the thing that always stumbles me and breaks me apart from following this pattern of reading is when there’s punctuation. Like the punctuation forces me to just group the individual words as whole groupings when I’m reading. Also a person that can read like 275+ in this format could actually read like 500-600 wpm easily if the words simply flashed on the type of groupings I mentioned individually instead of seeing the fully paragraphs laid out. Ultimately though the quickest way of comprehending a story is to hear it with visuals. That’s why growing up I always enjoyed films over reading. Still the same, but I’ve always wanted to enjoy reading because films can destroy the creative process of the viewer. One thing that I liked about reading even if I was too lazy to get into it was the fact that I could basically paint the words in my mind how I imagine. Sure certain details were fed to me by the author, but still what I visualize based on their description was likely different from what they visualize or someone else does. It’s also easier to pause from reading to reflect on what’s going on. When I watch films I simply make comments about things while things are going on and I feel as if I’m missing important details while in thought, but I’m far too lazy to simply pause. Also while I like to say I’m a fast reader I’ll admit to most times in a natural setting going back to reread certain parts just to make sure I didn’t miss something. One of the struggles I had with reading growing up was the way text is laid out. You read a line and have to make sure you’re continuing the right part. Sometimes I’d be like on the third line and proceed to start at the beginning of the third line or continue at the fifth line and feel the need to step back to find my real spot, but needing to start at the beginning of the sentence to ensure I fully comprehend. All I ever wanted was text to just show up line by line without the need to move your eyes and making sure you keep it in the right sequence.
Good advice, but nobody’s going to read that much.
As good as his advice may be, most people who read this will never need it in the first place

I got about 450 words per minute by not actually reading the word in my mind, but seeing the word and understanding, even for just 0.01 seconds, the meaning of it. U can pretty much do that.
yea, this is a pretty accurate portrayal of how I read.
480 wpm and was actually understanding. My bookworm attitude helped me do this.🙂
Everyone, the first time you read it is the one that matters. If you read it twice even if you don’t mean to skip over words your mind subconsciously skips words and sentences it thinks it knows. I read it one, the first time I got a 364, the second time I got a 450. Now even I know I can’t read 450 wpm. Please comment your time after the first time you read it.
The actual point of speed reading is to NOT read each individual word in your head (which is what they teach you to do in 2nd or 3rd grade after teaching you how to read each word aloud). Saying each word to yourself in your head is about the same as reading each word aloud (a bit faster since you don’t have to pause to breath or move your tongue around). This is why so many people get a low number and don’t believe anyone over 350-400. Basically your brain is seeing a word and processing it, then you’re telling your brain to read the word to your brain.
Then I got 250 first time and 308 next time.

So I totally did this test during a stoned "Why the Hell Not" moment. Shits and Giggles sitting here with the boys. Followed the test. Read my WPM score out loud to the boys and then told them about the story I had just read while waiting for the clock to run out.
Super Excited that I did this in a room full of witnesses when I was seeing how I compared against the average.
I am very pleased to say that when I checked my score at the end of the story, it was 632.
I am not even frikking kidding. First try, baked AF and it reads 632. That is the number I said out loud to the boys when I finished reading and tracked my eyes over to the corner.

That’s a long comment.
Wow! I got my reading pace faster! I just got 500 words! Well what I did was, there's an app called Speed Reading. (The app looks like a green book with a rocket and I think a timer aw its cover page.)
The second tip is, try to install an app like the one I installed.
There are a lot of apps that enhances your reading speed. (Which is literally training people in speed reading)
What benefits do I get here from installing it?
Well, just simple.
1-Its obvious that if you installed one, it literally should train your speed reading rate.
2-It trains you to became more attentive so whenever you read, you are also 'Proof Reading' it.
3-It trains your brain more than reading books that are informative.
4-It helps you gain speed which is your normal way of reading.
5-Lastly, you should see the effects of the application's training to you.
Questions:
What is proof reading?
Proof reading is where you read a book or a letter (something else you can read) again to check if you or someone had errors in writing it like their grammar, spelling, punctuation marks, and many more that is not in the proper way. That is the normal way of doing it. What if its combined with speed reading? BETTER! Because you don't have to read it again and again. While you are reading it, you can already see the error/s that the person did.
How can I see the effects of the application's training?
Well easy. If try to read a book a day after your training, you can notice that you read faster but in a normal way. (Which is good!) Also you can easily notice it when you try to do a Schulte table.
Sub-question:
What is a Schulte table?(for those who don't know)
A Schulte table is a 5×5 box where numbers 1-25 are placed in each boxes randomly.(Try to Google one and print it. Let's see if you can beat my best of 16 seconds.)
How to do it?
Numbers 1-25 are placed in each box randomly, right? All you have to do is correctly find them in order by tapping the numbers starting from 1-25. There should be a timer in doing this.
um I got +167 wpm last time I did this and I had 400 prev

My average reading speed is around 650 to 700 wpm. It's the chunks that trip me up. Since there are so many words next to each other it's harder to focus, and after every line you just have to hope your eyes choose the correct next line. I got 310, but on a single word at a time test where it just flashed 1 word for a fraction of a second in the middle of the screen I got to the max level of 900 wpm and could probably go faster. It's such a chore figuring out where you are in a text at all times.

M1cRo Baguette both of you skipped some words seriously finding people with 350 is hard but 400 is impossible the champion is at 460 rn
@NewAltomQR GT The champion of what is at 460? Speed reading? The world record is like 25,000 word’s a minute. For a test this short and simple, over 400 is a breeze. I’d tell my wpm on this test but no one would believe me). But if I had to read 10 pages with comprehension, my number would be drastically smaller.
I got 222, and I believe I understood what I read. Guess I got used to what I always do in journalism
While getting the gist of the story, but also not letting every word sink in, I got 706 wpm. Tbf I did try multiple times to beat my personal record, so I possibly only understood it from my first few tried but for a regular reading speed I believe I got a 306 wpm or something.
I got 414 because I was rushing myself. I normally read at an evenly paced rate so.
337! Good?
387 - saying the words
462 - speed reading
857 - literally zooming with my eyes
Speed meter: 571, I do read lots of books-
Title : "How Fast you can Read?"
The Quantum Speed Reading : Brain go brrr....
Well others try to read it so fast even though they can't understand a word.
I just want to remind people who does that that, that is not what you call speed reading.
Yeah you tend to read super fast but that's not speed reading if you can't understand a word. EVEN SIMPLE ONES.
Speed reading is a type of reading (not the subject) that speeds up your reading pace and at the same time, THATS YOUR NORMAL SPEED READING RATE. What does it mean?
It means if you got 400(example), that speed you got should just be your normal reading rate.
What I mean is, you didn't forced yourself to read faster and faster.
If you want your reading pace to be more faster, well try to read books more often.
And at the same time, your gaining knowledge!
If you read and read and read, then that's the time your reading speed would become faster and faster.
And at the same time, you understand a word clearly.
(Except if its in other language or its really deep.)
If your too nervous about knowing some people are reading faster than you, just read more often and you will become like them.
And also not to mention, just be relaxed while reading.
(Reading too much force is the main reason why you can't understand it fully.)
If you noticed your going too fast, don't be afraid to slow down.
If you found a word you don't know, read the sentence again slowly. Trying to understand what does it mean.
I hope these tips become successful and helpful to you guys.
Thanks for reading!
wow u put a lot of effort in that
I read faster in english than my own language. 400 in Norwegian and 545 in english. I read a lot, so i hope that is why?
I tried doing it understanding each word and I got a total of 500
Anna Thomassen that’s good 👍🏾
I did that and I got 273
500wpm while understanding the text!
Nice
706 while speedreading and somewhat understanding the text
I keep messing up because I don’t know what word is coming next lmao but it’s pretty easy once I see the word
