- Hello folks, sorry for being off-net for so long. I am happy to share that I had a birthday today and want to share some moments I had with my outdoor critter neighbors. So as stated, Everyone eats when it's time to eat. Hope you enjoy the little video. Have a fine week my friends and enjoy your days upon this earth.

Hey there Martin; thanks for watching. The little foxes have been fun to have around. They've been AWOL for a couple weeks. My wife is concerned. I enjoyed them while they were here. Glad you enjoyed watching them as well. Have a fine week and stay healthy, my friend. It's starting to get ugly-hot here. It's been so dry for months; now the heat is being joined with humidity (yuk). Thanks again.

Hey, JD. thanks. Yep the little critters wanted something. The fox comes and just sits outside like a dog statuette until we come out on the porch and then it comes up to the screen as if to say, hey guys, I'm here. (smile) We don't mind sharing.

Hey Dave, thanks for birthday wish and after seeing the video, it pretty much explains why I rarely see any rabbits around the house the past several months. When I first built my house on the land, I would see 6 to 8 bunnies from the entrance of my driveway to my house. All I've been seeing is healthy foxes, owls, snakes, and hawks. All the wild rabbits have fallen prey to predators. Have a great upcoming week.

Thanks Rita. I think they know they have some human friends that don't mean them any harm. When my wife was placing food out for the fox, the fox continued to circle her and she was a bit afraid thinking the gray fox meant her harm and was going to attack from behind. The first time I saw how he did, I knew he was just anxious to get to where the free chow was being served. We monitor this closely so that we don't have any undesirable critters stray into the area (bears, coyotes). Believe me, they're here and about 5 years ago, a big bear mashed the steel bird feeder shepherd's hook like it was a slinky. Thanks again, Rita.

We just put out some food b/c we saw it was hanging around and several foxes had done the same several years ago. So we left some food out for it and it became a regular. Since this video, we haven't seen a fox for weeks. Strange. It was fun to see it come and just sit there awaiting for its buffet. We'd talk to it an it was not afraid of our voices but seemed to be quite curious. Funny how animals do. They probably think, "funny how humans do". Thanks for stopping by, Stacie. I am a little surprised about the gray fox. About 5 years ago, a different fox did the same thing. It may have been this one's mom or dad. we enjoy seeing the critters. Thanks John. The wildlife seemed to come into the area years ago and realized they were in a safe haven. We pretty much look out for them since hunters used to hunt my land and the surrounding properties heavily with deer dogs. Have a good one John and thanks for watching. I thought I'd throw a home video out there to let folks know I'm alive and kicking. This is my last year in my 60's (haha). I'm hoping to get in a few more years under the belt before I'm turned under as fertilizer and pushing up daisies. (smile)

That's pretty neat, Walt. So you know how the foxes can befriend you with a little coaxing (smile). The fox disappeared for several weeks after this video then all of a sudden popped back into our lives. I'm thinking there may now be some kits around that the little fox tends to. The fox came back for food. It knew my voice and almost came up to the back door. It stays a safe distance away in case it needs to scoot out really fast but I'll talk to it and it sure does act as though it knows exactly what I'm saying. I think it can tell by my tone of voice and actions that I mean it no harm. Thanks for acknowledging my birthday. It was my last of the 60's (smile). So, I'll start off fresh into my 70's. 🙂 Speaking of Missouri, the last I was in Missouri was back in the early 70's. I lived in kansas city too for a few years back in 2000, moved back to my home state of Jersey then back to central missouri to a small town called Osceola(lived on 5 acres). The fox there got accustomed to me as a person and my voice also, they are smart just like dogs its really cool. There was a pair of them that had a den on the edge of the property, was neat. A few times they actually ran up and down the other side of the fence with my dog like they were really interested in playing with her, just boggled my mind how smart and curious they were of everything. I was quite concerned for a while but my wife and I saw the little fox and we're thinking there may be a den with little kit foxes nearby of which the fox is attending to parental duties. It looks like the orchard is doing really well. That's a lot of work planting and nurturing all those trees. Hope you're getting enough rain water to irrigate. We've been bomb-blasted over the past 2 months with rain storms and have been scorched with searing heat waves. Take it easy and thanks for the birthday wishes. @@houndsmanone4563 The barn is essentially done, except for little things. It came our well. I only bought new lumber for a back door. Everything else was from my barn or lumber I bought from a razed barn. Have a good week!
