I love this weapon and empty hands comparison. In Bak Mei I began to understand that the tremor power was developed with the long pole. Then I began to see that the Phoenix eye is used like a yawara stick in each hand, BUT Bak Mei doesn't teach the yawara, BUT It does teach the Tonfa (sorry I don't know the Chinese names), and this filled in what I was missing in the yawara, the forearm and the Bak Mei whip (like whipping out the Tonfa) with the Phoenix eye acting as the short end of the Tonfa. Point is using these weapons begins to stimulate some intuition about how power should be applied and what the targets like pressure points should be (when I hold a yawara I automatically think slamming it into nerve centers and I automatically use a different type of power than boxing). This also gave me a different view of the Bak Mei forms which look very strange UNTIL I imagine doing them using my hands and arms like a Tonfa. Whether this is what GM CHEUNG intended I don't know but it very quickly improved my fighting. Just food for thought. I wonder if GM CHEUNG developed it with the yawara and then discarded it because it was unnecessary if you used the Phoenix eye?

Even when holding back Adam still manages to hurt Chris the bigger guy. With many more pounds advantage over Adam. Think of what the result would be Not holding back by Adam.Impressive
