I have dreamed of being an excavator operator my entire life.. i had the chance to operate a digger for the first time of my life yesterday.. im grateful for the opportunity so excited to continue chasing my dream of one day working as an excavator operator.

Hey mate. I’m a Melbournian as well, born and bred. I abandoned my university studies after 1 year (Studied Psychology) because I realised that indoors environment/classrooms just weren’t for me.
My aspirations right now are to get into Civil Construction: Plant Operations. I’m 21 years old and I think that this change of path will guide me to the right future for myself.

Jonas Juarez. You will need a red card to start on any job site. You can do an online course and it’s cheap. It’s a construction induction safety card which shows you have done the basic induction safety course. Try and get a traffic management ticket. Apply to a labour hiring company for work. Usually a construction company will take you on full time if your good. Work hard you go places. If you have a chance ask if someone can teach you how to operate an excavator or show you the basic stuff. That’s how I started. 20 tears later and still operating machines with no problems.
