As an aide to Governor Connally, Mr. Read was one of two members of the press corps who were permitted into the emergency room at Parkland Hospital during that tragic day on November 22, 1963. This video contains detailed descriptions of the developments as they occurred, and his eye witness recollections of an event that shocked America and the entire free world are priceless. It is among the important videos that the library has produced regarding American history.
Deputy White House press secretary Malcolm Kilfduff was the other member of the press corps who gained access to this facility. Mr. Read stood near Mr. Kilduff while he announced the tragic news that President Kennedy had died. The president’s press secretary Pierre Salinger was on a plane to Tokyo when the president was killed. Jackie Kennedy, Nellie Connally, Lyndon and Lady Bird Johnson were the only other non-medical personnel who were permitted into the emergency room.
After Mr. Kilduff completed his briefing, Mr. Read relayed the news that Governor Connally was undergoing surgical procedures and was in critical condition. Mrs. Connally conversed with Mr. Read while in the emergency room, and she recalled those last precious moments of the president’s life. Mrs. Connally kept a diary of this chilling saga, which was lost during her move from the governor’s mansion when Governor Connally retired in 1969. The diary was discovered in a storage box shortly before she died, and Mr. Read helped her pen a book that was based upon this diary.
Traveling from Austin, Mr. Read was gracious to share his story with our guests, and I was deeply honored and greatly appreciated his participation in our cultural art series.

Many years later after he retired, he told me "There was a long line wanting to kill Kennedy and LBJ was at the head of it." LBJ despised the Kennedys and was obsessed with becoming President. My father heard through the grapevine at that time that LBJ had been ranting and raving to White House staff about how JFK wasn't going to have him run as his VP in 64 and that "the Kennedys were trying to screw him over." He said that LBJ was a tyrant with a savage temper. He had his own personal hitman, Malcolm Wallace who had killed for him before. From what I've read JFK was LBJ's hit #8. Wallace had a reputation of being an expert marksman and was seen practicing on a shooting range a few days before the assassination. Dallas was the 3rd attempt by LBJ to eliminate Kennedy. The other two attempts had to be called off due to various changes in circumstances. It's presumed that it was Wallace who fired the lethal headshots from behind the grassy knoll. There was an eyewitness who saw a man, who was later identified as Malcolm Wallace, fire the two headshots then calmly disassemble his gun, stick it in a briefcase and calmly walk away in the direction of the parking lot behind the Book Depository. The man said the shooter was obviously a professional. He said he saw two puffs of white smoke rise above the stockade fence coinciding with the two headshots. He stated that he knew that he had just witnessed the murder of the President.

Oswald would often miss a still target taking all the time he needed on a flat grade . Hahaha He was a horrible shot! Let me explain. There are three grades. Expert is the highest, then sharp shooter, then on the bottom is marksman. Oswald's best score was barely a low sharp shooter. In 1971-72 i was a range instructor for the 82nd Airborne Division. (A Company 2/325 82nd Airborne Division Fort Bragg NC). We trained R.O.T.C. Cadets. Should we have students who qualified as poor as with Oswald's BEST score we would have recycled him until he scored better. The alleged murder weapon was not bore sighted!! This means the scope and barrel were not in line together. Further more the scope was loose as it was not mounted correctly and missing mounting shims. Thus it would bounce around after each shot. NO ONE...NO ONE on planet earth could have made a shot from that rifle and hit any target. Furthermore the shots were from six stories up? At a small target moving 11 miles an hour? On a down hill slope with a curve? HAHAHA This like a driver who barely passed his driving test with an automatic after several tries then winning the Indy 500 on his first try twice.!! The police report noted the damage to the curb the day of the assassination. The next morning federal investigators went to the scene and noticed evidence of fresh concrete repair When questioned city officials claimed it was a repair from damage caused by a curb sweeper but was so fresh it was determined to have been done overnight. Comparing the fabric damage (front and back) to Connally's clothing, the entry and exit wounds were nearly parallel to one another. No significant downward trajectory means Connally is vindicated, in multiple ways. First, it suggests that the shooter wasn't high atop the Texas School Book Depository, as we're led to believe. But second, no sharp downward trajectory means Connally's wrist must have been at chest level, prior to impact, to redirect it. Even more bluntly, if the bullet weren't headed for the lap then the wrist, which was wounded, could not possibly have been down in the lap.

These were Dealey Plaza's gun turrets, circa 1891, yes gun turrets, as seen on the day of the assassination. Connally would feel the bullet hit when his back was momentarily turned towards them. Those turrets were further away, and lower, which would go a long way in explaining the flat trajectory of the shot. If JFK had been the initial target, you'll see Jackie effectively shielding him at the time.

The bullet exited Kennedy's throat at the necktie knot then went into tumble striking Connelly in the right back collapsing his right lung. Connally was also the sole influence behind moving the luncheon speech in Dallas from the Women’s Building to the Trade Mart which resulted in the change of the motorcade route through Dealey. He also didn’t want to ride in the presidential limo; Yarborough was substituted, but JFK was adamant and that fight went on between JFK and Lyin’ Lyndon until they left Fort Worth. Kennedy was hit 4 times. All bullets did not exit. Connelly was hit twice and one bullet never extracted from his leg. Connally buried with his leg bullet.

    TOTALS
4 rounds hit JFK, 2 in the head, 2 in body
2 rounds hits Connelly in wrist and leg
2 rounds miss hit road, curb.
    1 .45 round hits grass
1st Bullet fired from DAL TEX building ricochets off road to hit chrome windshield frame leaving big dent. Picture available. 1st Bullet fragments enters Connally wrist and the leather seat.
2nd Bullet Hits Connally in back ends up in his leg. Possibly from Malcolm Wallace TBD 6Th floor or DAL TEX BUILDING. Malcolm Wallace fingerprints were found on a TBD box and stored for years. This was Oswald’s alleged position. Oswald seen having lunch on a 4th fl, lower floor at 12:25 and 12:32
    3. Rear entry JFK back from 6th floor TBD. Short shot” Bullet does not exit. Bullet lodged atop his lung. By medical technician at Bethesda. Where bullet is-unknown. Rifle is Carcano possibly.
4 & 5 The 2 bullets that hit Connelly were separate from any JFK bullets. It had to come from a high rear building from 20 degrees or more.
Perhaps rooftop shot from DAL TEX building. Bullets never extracted from Connally. Source: Orlando Sentinel, July 17, 1993
    6. Rear entry 5.56mm lower skull or high neck. This bullet came from rear following car by Agent Hickey when he lost his balance while retrieving a locked and loaded AR15 from the limo floor. He accidentally hit Kennedy at a 8 degree from horizontal angle while his thumb unlocked the rifle
Agent Hickey unlocked the rifle with his thumb as he picked it up. His thumb rests on the locking arm.
As the car lurched forward, he pressed the trigger and hit JFK. A lurch forward will drive his finger backward to fire unintentionally. The book “Mortal Error” explains this accident. As he swiveled his body to the rear, this puts force on the trigger finger during this motion. Also he is under stress. He is losing his balance. Also, he was standing on the sloping rear seat. He lost his balance as he turned around to point at the shooter. Try standing on a rear seat while a car accelerates.
The Agents around Hickey went into cover up mode at the Parkland hospital storm drain. This guilt by Agents cause them to cancel the autopsy and quickly get the body out of Texas.
The 6th floor shots were from a higher angle, likely 20 degrees--go look it up.
    Read “Mortal Error”

    7. Bullet from Grassey Knoll misses and hits grass or curb, chipping the curb and chip wounds a bystander’s cheek.
Witness of bullet hitting left lane of Elm St, Royce Skelton, see his testimony below. Smoke from knoll seen by Richard C Dodd:
    czcams.com/video/YODZyI2qRMw/video.html
    8. Missed .45 Caliber bullet, "grass tunnel shot" near manhole on South side of Elm St. From North Side of Elm St.
    9. Entry high right front hairline 25 feet from the STORM DRAIN. Shooter escaped through huge storm drain to point west of overpass. Probably using a scoped pistol such as Remington x-100 .221 varmiter round. The .223 round not available quite yet for this pistol in 1963. Bullet is explosive since round is high speed 3200 fps from this scoped 11' barrel pistol.

2 rounds hits Connelly in wrist and leg

Witnesses to the shooting. At least one was murdered. czcams.com/video/mJCCW7R2bZU/video.html
    .
The photo has not been altered or airbrushed. I will explain why. Firstly, his wife took the shot.
The problem is the nose shadow, it falls straight down on his face to his upper lip. But the leg shadows show the sun to be creating angled shadows. So why don't the leg shadows and the nose shadows match?
This is because the nose shadow falls on a face/head which is TILTED. This realigns the shadow to make it look like it is going straight down TO THE GROUND.. But it isn't.
The head has been tilted so now the shadow has a new position which is straight down ON HIS FACE, BUT NOT STRAIGHT DOWN COMPARED TO THE LEG SHADOWS. It is like moving the dial of a wristwatch instead of the hands of the wristwatch to reset the time.
The nose shadow goes straight down ON HIS FACE. But HIS FACE IS TILTED about 10 degrees. Therefore, his FACE RE-FIGURES THE LOGIC OF THE SHADOW. Explained another way, The nose shadow is not 90 degree perpendicular to the ground, it is aligned with his NOSE, and his NOSE and face are TILTED ABOUT 10 DEGREES. The reason this confuses viewers is because they think of his face/head as being straight up perpendicular with THE GROUND. IT ISN'T. THE HEAD IS TILTED.
IF THE HEAD WERE PERFECTLY PERPENDICULAR WITH THE GROUND, the nose shadow would be angled about 10 degrees across his upper lip, similar to the shadows on the ground in back of his legs. BUT HIS HEAD IS TILTED. This makes the nose shadow go straight down his face, a face which is tilted! Get it?

@@Madmen604 In that case we look forward to you explaining what happened to the bullet that went through Connally's body and ended up in his leg, because the doctors never found it there!
Victims' wounds also line up on a perfect trajectory and multiple, mathematically precise computer recreations have demonstrated that (what were the odds that was going to work if the single bullet is not legit?).
Limo was also travelling on a downhill grade and I repeat my above comments.
P.S. The bullet is, of course, not "pristine," it is badly crushed at the nose and flattened down one side, perfectly consistent with drilling through Kennedy without hitting bone, slowing and tumbling on leaving him, then broadsiding its way through Connally's ribs.

@oldbiker9739: Wrong. George H.W. Bush was speaking in Tyler, Texas, at the Kiwanis Club when President Kennedy was assassinated. Bush was running for the US Senate at the time, in a race he would ultimately lose. No one has been unable to find any statement from Bush that would have given birth to his “I can’t recall where I was” misquote/accusation. @@dylanized101 Watch the Zapruder film . 1st shot happens as limo turns onto Elm st. Now the shot clock starts. Close to 4 seconds until second shot. Nearly 5 seconds between 2nd and 3rd shots. Oswald 's rifle is more than capable. Plus there could have been a hundred shooters in Daily Plaza that day( although there was just 1 ," Oswald") but the only person to hit their target was dumb ass Oswald. All the wounds and bullet fragments came from one weapon only , Oswald' s rifle, to the exclusion of all other weapons. 81% of the witnesses heard 3 shots . Of the remaining 19% more heard less than 3 shots than more than 3. The evidence against Oswald is staggering. Eyewitness seen him shoot. His rifle (murder weapon to the exclusion of all others) found on the sixth floor with his palm print on it. Three shell casings from said rifle. Oswald' s finger prints all over the snipers nest. And like the innocent man he was, he fled the scene. And that's just the start.

It's amazing how accommodating all those Texans were with the memorials and lovely words they said about JFK after he died. Of course, before he died, they hated all the Kennedys. That area was all pro- oil and very conservative folks and all Baptists. The same thing when Martin Luther King was killed, there were Southerners quoting him, there was a national holiday given to King. It just seems so staged how once they're dead, Oh, my God! Let's all have a moment of prayer. I wonder what would of happened if the shooters at Dealey Plaza missed their target and Kennedy lived. There wouldn't be this outcry of sorrow and sadness. Those folks hated Kennedy and they had pretty good reasons to hate his brother, Robert Kennedy. I just find human nature so funny how when a person dies, he becomes a nation treasure. When he's alive, they spit on him! Is it a human thing or just a few hypocrites. If I didn't care for a person, I wouldn't like them if they died. And I loved Kennedy and wanted him to live.
