Been watching for several years. Each time I grab a file, whether it be on my own power saws, or at work on my power saws there, I get better and better each time. I get my face right down in there so I can see the tiny curl form on the edge of the tooth. To me, watching for that curl-is the key! Much love and light to ya Buckin and family, and to the entire Buckin Army! Stay happy my friends, each and every one of you. Live life to the fullest, delight in the little things, and love, love the life that you create each day. Be proud of the person you are today!

Good afternoon, Buckin'! Another beautiful day to be alive!!
"Is placing blame time and energy well spent?" Buckin', I ask myself that question every day... In the environment I work in, it seems so many of my co-workers work overtime to place and reject blame daily.. It's sad to see those who refuse to take responsibility, but are quick to place blame on others. I do not hold resentment for those folks, but I do feel the pain it causes them in the long run.
Never let the darkness invade the bright light that emits from your soul. It is harder to resist the temptations of spitefulness and it is much easier to point the finger, but in the end, it weighs on you and drags you further into the fog of resentment and anger.
There is light all around us, and we have to train our minds and our souls to look in that direction.
You are a good man, Buckin'. Thank you for all you do to continue to spread the message of kindness and prosperity.

It’s true about filing gauges. Toss them out. I’m no lumberjack like Buckin, just a regular guy with a few acres and a hungry wood stove. When I started out, nobody else in my family or friends was a wood burner, and CZcams wasn’t really a thing yet. So I bought some books.
I have been doing it on my own for about 11 years. Im 37, but I believe I was born about 50 years too late.
I process about 6 cords a year, from trees in the woods down into firewood. I make some mistakes, been banged up a couple times, but I have learned a lot and my skills have gone way up! Worst time wasn’t with a tree or chainsaw, but rolling my tractor moving a log. That hurt.
And I don’t use a guage anymore. I have a shop now and a nice grinder too, but I almost never use it. Just a couple good files, a vice and I take my time.
Now I have a few friends and family who ask me for help sharpening or doing this or that. We had some bad storms this summer and my dad and in laws had nice trees come down. Locust, cherry and ash. I offered my services doing tree cleanup for the firewood. No one else is a burner, so everybody won!

Buckin I can definitely tell you from using a file gauge to doing it by hand is one it cuts faster because you get more chips with the tooth then when you use the file gauge but I started off with the gauge because I didn't know what the angle was so I don't think that they are all bad for learning purposes but they are sharper faster more chips are thrown when you learn how to file it by hand and I definitely picked up this trick from watching your filing videos was a huge help for me and my learning curve. Thanks again for all your help and tricks you show us I'm personally very grateful for them. God Bless brother Buckin.

My saws cut heaps better. Thank you ! I don't have a wood stove, but I do like to cut wood for friends that do. I always feel better after a day on the saw. Well I went from using a grinder, to hand filing. Its been and still is a learning curve for me but I'm starting to get the hang of it. Its been a blast to try and mostly fail. But I've had a few chains I've filed that cut amazingly and now trying to duplicate that.
