- A favorite scene of mine from "Nightmare On Elm Street 4: The Dream Master" and one of the great sequences showing a heroine preparing to battle the villain.
This clip also features a favorite musical cue of mine, however I'm not sure who performs it. - Krátké a kreslené filmy
One of my favorite things about this scene is the fact that she's wearing items that belonged to the people she lost to Freddy. It's just another way that she's taking them with her as she battles Freddy.
Chocobear555 : She had everyone's power/personality/styles I loved this scene, too!
wow you picked up on that? you're deep.
@@edunoeduno4980 why u so salty?
She also is taking off all the pictures in the mirror to fully see herself. It's like she comes together as a complete and confident person taking with her all the lessons, love and strength from her friends . . . And her mother because one the photos is of her.
@@edunoeduno4980 : I know it's been a year. Maybe you've had enough time to get over your emotional constipation and your general snarkiness.
This scene always gave me chills. Avenging her friends and the other kids Freddy hurt. Get him, Alice! Love how she went from being shy and timid to a total badass.
She didn't really. She defeated him with this mirror. Which makes all this rambo gearing up quite redundant.
@@m1lst3r89she gained confidence and martial arts, that helped her survive
This scene and music makes Nightmare 4 my favorite sequel. Alice was more than a Dream Warrior, she was a Dream Master. You go, girl! ❣
Nightmare 4 is extremely underrated. Also, Alice is the most badass final girl ever!
I still think it's Nancy because who doesn't prepare like her
Beat and survived Freddy…twice.
@@Handlethis81637 Hell yes! She is so awesome
More badass than Dutch(predator)
@@courtgizzle For me, hell yes
Best scene in any slasher film, period.
Nancy Thompson setting up boobies traps in the first Nightmare On Elm Street was also pretty legit. Just saying.
Yes! This and the church scene for me
"Fucking A!" Kudos to Kincaid for such an epic line in the Nightmare on Elm Street 4 movie 👍
Kincaid also said Fuckin A dig this!..In Nightmare On Elm Street part 3 The Dream Warriors when he picks up the steel chair and bends it's legs inward showing off his dream power of strength.
She’s battling Freddy, with all the strength of the last dream warriors, and the trophies that were left behind by Freddy she obtained by some that were given to her, thus becoming the ultimate dream warrior herself, this comes to show you that this is still one of the best damn scenes in all of the nightmare on elm street franchise
She is not a Dream Warrior, She is the Dream Master
@@TimDrakeKent oh right I forgot about that
@@jasonyoungkin1117 To me she is freddys true arch nemesis
@@moneylover318 yep
@@TimDrakeKent NOT REALLY MAN TO BE HONEST HELL YAH
When she raps her brother's head ban on her knuckles, it to me is so great. Its like we know he is gone forever, but his symbol of confidence and sweat is in that head ban and he is able to be there in spirit for his sister to fight there by her side and she is able to beat up the man who killed him with his very soul wrapped around her hand as she punches Freddy in his face. Rick gets to fight in this fight. As do her friends with their "Gifts" to her.
One of the best scenes in the movie. Her friends are still with her. And she's not even scared anymore. She's determined to kick Freddy's ass. I will always love Nancy but Alice is pretty awesome as well.
The 80s, when hard rock made horror even more awesome. My favorite scene in the movie. And the girl playing Alice was absolutely gorgeous. Massive crush on that badass angel.
+Odd Magne Granli Lisa Wilcox, follow her on twitter,YO. lisawilcox1 :) I
Agreed i had such a crush on her when the movie came out in 1988 and i was only 10 years old lol.
Yeah she's beautiful!
Did you think she was prettier than Nancy?
@@jakekaufman8302 I think so definitely
She becomes the Dream Master! Who said we didn't grow up with bad ass female characters back in the days?
That's pretty much most of the hereose in horror movies in the eighties
Indeed. We did grow up with a few, like Ripley in Aliens for example, we just didn't have as many of them. That said, I consider Alice Thompson to be a "Proto-Buffy", and as much as I love Heather langenkamp, I think Lisa Wilcox is the most talented actress to touch this series of films. Why she didn't go on to have a bigger career than she's had is beyond me.
Horror movies today don't have their own battle getting ready moments. That's really sad.
They still make horror movies? 😜
Its cause all the soul and character is gone, and they aint ever coming back unfortunately.
I'll bring them back.
Nothing more satisfying to see then a person taking back what someone stole from you. Alice may not be able to bring back her brother and friends from the dead, but she sure as shit can take on the monster that took them in the first place and make him pay.
She really is a magical girl. She got her own transformation sequence and she did it by herself.
Don’t forget. With every teenager Freddy killed, Alice gained qualities from each of them. Sheila (Intelligence), Rick (Stamina, Fighting Skills), Debbie (Strength, Confidence): all through Kristen’s dream skills.
What is useless is her going toe to toe with Freddy, which is something I generally have a problem with in the series. It's blatantly obvious you cannot defeat Freddy through Bruce Lee means. It's just seems lazy storytelling by filmmakers to me.
she fighting for the souls of her friends and elm street kids
Marcus Cox yup
Just her friends but she let all the souls free
Bad ass energy in this scene paired with a fantastic guitar riff!
One of the most memorable and personally my fav scene in the nightmare movies. The fact in the beginning she was so shy and reserved about who she really wanted to be and then as her friends started to die off she became stronger and stronger. And in the end she embraced herself as the protector of dreams, the dream master. And her taking the photos off her mirror and seeing her reflection makes it so that she accepted herself and her role. Just a beautiful scene. But i really didnt like sheilas death though. Having a asthma attack in the classroom
wanna have a quick debate on how worthy Alice is to be called the dream master??Considering she really had no power..or any thing at all to bring to the table!!
without the power of all her friends she really was quite useless!
+J.D. Contreras Well put lol hehe couldn't of said it better myself
+J.D. Contreras she shared my Facebook status. Real nice woman
+Jojo “That_One_Joker” Sheila's death bothered me too, it was just gross. I love the actress, Lisa Wilcox..to THIS DAY SHE IS BEAUTIFUL!
The most underrated final girl. What a legend.
The scene in Terrifier 2 when Sienna gets ready reminded me of this scene with Alice.
True! You're not the only ti found this similitude. Two badass warriors.
Omfg I thought I was the only one!!!
It has to be a reference for sure, nice catch
Это который Ужасающий?
Just came back from a Nightmare on Elm Street cinema marathon last night and when this scene came up on the big screen, after watching all 4 films back to back at 6 in the morning, it got me so pumped. This was so cool.
I know the feeling. I played it back like three times 😂
Empowered by the spirits of rick, shelia, debbie, joey, kincaid, and kristin, Alice takes them all with her in her final battle against kruger.
We know Freddy loves telling anyone who will listen that the souls of those he’s killed gives him his power. What he failed to or didn’t care enough to take into consideration is that it goes both ways. Alice proved that by taking the powers and memory of her brother and friends with her to face him head on. That bit of arrogance and perhaps negligence as well is what led to his defeat
@@dannyellaboatboat yeap. It equaled out.
@@areyoulookingbitch7065 That it did
Favorite final girl❤❤❤❤❤❤
This is the best scene on the movie because its not like other horror movies where the survivor just has to run and maybe physically fight them a little. This is different, and its not like any other nightmare movie. This is special cause Alice uses strength from her friends that died to fight freddy.
Also i almost started crying when i saw all the pictures of Alice growing up and her with her friends, especially at 1:27 with that picture of Alice and her brother as a little kid.
+SerialKillerX that's my favorite horror movie scene ever too! I also wonder what's the song called. Just rematches the movie today
+Rosteam2000 i don't know the actual name but if you search A nightmare on elm street 4 don't be afraid of your dreams on youtube you will be able to find the song.
SerialKillerX actually dont be afraid of your nightmares, "dreams" is somekinda pop song
+Rosteam2000 ya wops sorry
Alice is just the best child of elm street, no other kid defeat Freddy twice, the only survivor, the Dream Master!! Alice FTW!!!
No!
Nancy best!❤😅
Skip to 0:27 for actual scene.
I LOVE THIS SCENE SO MUCH!!
So emotional and badass! And the music, so epic! When they showed the photographs I felt so sad, knowing all those people she cared about died.
And when she put on with her brother's headband on her hand, and her friend's machine on her belt, it was like she took a part of them with her to battle their killer.
Lisa Wilcox has incredibly beautiful blue eyes. I love how you can see her eyes on the poster.
Shes gorgeous I had crazy crush on her back in the day
Fuckin' A is right! I miss the age of the required montage. This is brilliant.
The pictures being taken down make me tear up every time. Alice is definitely THE final girl of the 80s
NOT REALLY MAN TO BE HONEST HELL YAH
She is my favorite final girl. Love her
She is the Ultimate " Final Girl" go Alice ♥
The name of the song is called "Don't be afraid of your dreams" by Go West....but here's the messed up part, the way the song sounds in the movie. It was only created for that paticular scene for the movie therefore its not really a song it's just that specific part of the song that they revamped for only that scene....

Now Alice is officially part of the Dream Warriors
Watched this on AMC today - part of Nightmare on Elm Street marathon during AMC's 20 days of fear leading up to Halloween. Good to see again. 😉
Nancy Thompson, you've been replaced
James Michel Maybe, but Nancy's legacy will always live on!
James Michel Agreed 100000%
+James Michel I don't know. In a literal sense, I guess. But Nancy's survival made Kristen's survival possible, which in turn made Alice's survival possible, and the sequels wouldn't exist had the original Nightmare on Elm Street not been a monumental success. Both within the films and in real life, Alice never could have kicked butt without Nancy.
Plus, because of New Nightmare, Heather Langenkamp kind of trumps the other final girls.
But I personally think they're all pretty awesome. (Yes, even Lisa.)
***** I’m not sure about that, either. According to the “Primetime” special feature on the eighth disc of the 1999 Nightmare on Elm Street Collection, Craven and Langenkamp envisioned Nancy’s fight against Freddy as an archetypal struggle between good and evil from the very first film. To me, every final girl in the original films represents humanity’s potential for good, whereas Freddy personifies its potential for evil. (Remember that both Alice and Heather are portrayed as nurturing parents, while Freddy is a child-killer who murdered the mother of his daughter.) The filmmakers bolster this profound binary with more superficial ones: living youthfulness versus Freddy’s relative age and undeath, femininity to Freddy’s masculinity, girl-next-door good looks to fashion victim Freddy’s extensive scarring, etc. *The* fundamental characteristic of each protagonist is her status as a “good girl”-or a female who happens to be a decent human being. (I should note that Craven, Langenkamp, and Englund all seem to share my view, again judging by the “Primetime” featurette. But Death of the Author, yada yada yada.) I don’t mean to suggest that our heroines are flat or stereotypical; rather, they, like Freddy, are just archetypal enough to position themselves on the end of the moral spectrum opposite their nemesis.
I also find Alice’s arc more dynamic than you imply. Over the course of The Dream Master, she goes from a shy little girl too timid to stand up for herself to the empowered young women in the featured clip. She does have *some* complexity, as, again, do each of the Nightmare girls.
Just some things I noticed since revisiting the Nightmare franchise in the aftermath of Craven’s death. Your mileage may vary, of course.
Nancy was a spiritual guide. Alice is a spiritual warrior. You should not compare the two as being the same. Nancy was the first survivor and the one that showed the kids the way to fight back and died as a martyr showing them the way to fight Freddy. Alice is the result of Nancy's help and guidance that she gave towards Kristen and the other Elm street children. Nancy is spiritually fighting right there along side Alice as are all her dead friends.
It's no wonder Ramboraph4life's a big fan of this music considering that it's very kickass to listen to!
One of my favorite characters especially with her story arc.
You know, I think this may be my favorite nightmare movie. Great effects, cool concept of Freddy needing someone to bring his victims to him, and good god I found myself more attached to this cast than any other movie's.
Alice rocks! She's my favourite character and when she has all her friends powers combined she kicks Freddie's ass big time! Go Alice x

It's the instrumental version of Go West's "Don't Be Afraid of Your Dreams."
Probably my favorite part of the movie...sad that she's adorning herself with remnants from her brother & friends that Freddy took. Also love the parallel of her removing the pictures from the mirror. She's able to finally see herself 👍
Fucking love the 4th Nightmare on Elm Street, just because of this scene. A timid girl at first now transformes herself into a lady warrior type caracter. Brilliant thrilling music with it as well. Just class! One of the best in the Nightmare on Elm street franchise in my opinion apart from the 1st which was obviously the best but this one fantastic

Everything about this scene was perfect hands down the most memorable moment of the nightmare on elm street series.
That's why part 5 didn't work. Same characters but different direction. Just wanted to see Alice kicking Freddy's arse again
Tell me something... Is she survived at part 5? Just tell me that! Do not tell the end.
Yes. Alice never dies
According to part 6 all of the other teenagers died, so...

I fuckin love this, guitar riff was so great takes me there
When the cute shy girl at work or school turns out to be a badass naughty girl. 😂
Lisa Wilcox is still a fox!
The unique thing about this series is that unlike more famous final girls at the time, theirs don’t fight out of last minute survival instinct like Laurie Strode (Halloween 1978), Alice Hardy (Friday the 13th 1980), or Ellen Ripley (Alien 1979). Elm Street final girls (Nancy in part 1, Kristen in part 3, Alice in parts 4 and 5, Maggie in part 6) take the initiative and take the fight to the killer, whether forming a team with others (Nancy and Kristen’s “Dream Warriors” in part 3, Maggie and her patients in part 6) or alone (Nancy in part 1, Alice in parts 4 and 5).
Nancy was a Dream Warrior, but Alice? She is the Dream Master
@@TimDrakeKent Not to downplay Alice, but Nancy’s heroic final sacrifice at the end of part 3 weakened Freddy so the doctor (whose name escapes me at the moment) could use holy water on Freddy’s remains which succeeded in totally defeating Freddy once and for all. If Kincaid’s dog hadn’t peed on Freddy’s resting place in the junkyard at the beginning of part 4 he never would’ve come back again.
The most powerful scene in any Elm Street film. Epic.
Best nightmare movie hands down
I love badass women that are all ride or die. Seeing women on the silver screen not taking any shit is so fucking awesome. I thank God that I married a woman who is exactly this way. We always have each other's back. I would seriously go to war for her or with her any day.
Sheila's BRAINS + Rick's fighting SKILLS + Debbie's BRAWN + Kristen's unifying power =
ALICE the "Dream Master" 😊👊💪❗
She apparently also inherited Debbie's rage and, as presented by the subsequent events of Rick's death, Joey's dream power.
I think some people write off these 80's horror films as poorly acted slasher movies but this scene is evidence that not only do some of these movies have great qualities to them, in this particular movie Lisa Wilcox does a fantastic job. She's believable, beautiful and sends a good message to young girls who may feel weak that they can be strong. I'm glad she was cast, and I'm sad she isn't a much bigger star
And is an evil demon is taking away your friends and family you can kick their ass
She's so beautiful and brave, real hard woman against the evilest and most unbeatable, love her so much,

I feel like the only one who feels sad during this scene because of all the pictures of dead kids.
I love Alice's Sandy from Grease moment.
This always gave me Mega man vibes with the fact that Alice takes on the abilities of the items she has
I love this entire film and this scene rocks!!!! Love it
One thing I always remembered about Part 4; I liked all of the cast. I didnt want to see any of them hurt, I found them all likable and was saddened as Freddy picked them off one by one. So this scene, I was really rooting for Alice.
My feelings exactly! They felt so familiar, like kids I'd probably hang out with in school.
Part 4 definitely reminded me of my grade 9 Gym Class why I liked it so much
By far awesome getting ready to kick ass song! 👍🏼
If Freddy can claim souls and use the lives of his victims to instill fear and evil... why can't Alice use the confidence, strength, will power, determination, endurance and courage found within herself due to the tragic losses of her beloved friends and family? Iconic scene. The day dreamer became the Dream Master. Best final girl to vanquish Freddy!
This scene excites me too much because of her courage and determination to face Freddy.
