  • The legendary Rabea inspired me to do this loop for you guys, I think it is really cool and funky. Try to play the loop slower, it grooves really well too. I hope you dig it.
    Thank you again for watching.

    Pete has demonstrated the value of a loop pedal: it only gets better with more layers....just like his denim...and his hair...and the grain of that fretboard...

  • @Burck44
    @Burck44 Před 5 lety +2

    I think I would call that D a B minor, because the bass line goes through B while the chord voicing is ringing. In that way, the progression becomes a II-VI-V and the key is D major. Using the D major scale in the groove adds more juice.

    • @colaboytje
      @colaboytje Před 6 lety

      The John Mayer version is absolutely nailing the vibe of the song. I saw Jennifer Batten during a little showcase with maybe 15 people present (including me :-)) play the original version, and although she played it perfectly, the Mayer version sounds better with only guitar.

  • @kanalualohafeary6129

    Pete you should demand the andertons staff refer to you as English Pete. Between the time of the celts and the time of the Norman French, England was inhabited by anglos and saxons from various parts of Germany. There was a third group in England then the danes from the continental strip of land known as Jutland. You have as much right to claim England as any of the andertons employees. Just sayin’. I’m a huge fan of English Pete and his purple guitars.

  • @zaqintosh
    @zaqintosh Před 6 lety

    Just curious, what settings on your light speed for this tone typically? I find it to be such a low gain pedal, with a Strat style guitar I need to crank the "drive" side up to almost full blast to get a decent "edge of break-up" tone. HELP PETE :) (this is paired with a super clean amp)

    • @danishpete
      @danishpete  Před 6 lety

      I can’t remember, there is a sweep of the pedal in the Video there you can see the settings. That’s how I use it most of the time... And I’ll get get break up style drive from that. I use the volume and the touch of the playing. If I use a harder pick and pick it harder I get more drive! So, play with dynamics! I find that’s the key. But keep your eyes peeled, something might come along soon that is just what you need :-)

    • @zaqintosh
      @zaqintosh Před 6 lety

      aah, ok I missed that one sec where you showed the light speed. I pretty much use those settings on my les Paul, then have to really max it out for my Strat single coils just to get that juice SRV tone

    • @andrewjackson829
      @andrewjackson829 Před 6 lety

      zaqintosh it’s very light. I think a lot of guys use it to push their already driven, crunchy amp or just make their clean amp sound better by putting up the volume and actually lowering the gain. I have to keep fooling with mine depending on the amp etc.

    His time was fine until he started soloing. Then it sounded like he was making the cardinal sin that separates pros from non-pros; Being enamored of his own lead licks and not properly listening to the groove. And if anything, CZcams has shown us that lead playing is no longer impressive to anyone.
