@Joe Campbell Use the Wander VR app to walk (tour) the streets of Rome or any place in the world (if you have a VR headset). The Wander app is a must have for all VR users. It's very relaxing. There are Wander VR reviews on youtube.

Yeah Wander is pretty awesome for that. And that's just basically using Google Earth, but you're really there. And depending on the quality of the pictures, it can get pretty immersive. And to think, this is just theje beginning of this technology. It's gonna be insane in the coming years, it's super cool now too tho.
You know what we need? 'Lucid Dream' type vr games
Well, that's a good idea to dev a game based on thought abilities.
This is, for sure, possible. Since it's a new thing for science (controling things with thought is possible) I guess we have to wait some years. Not that much ! But that will come for sure.

@Kyle Da Dude imagine things looking as good as they do in say death stranding or better with insane fov and no screen door effect, great resolution, and costing 200 to 300 dollars, with wireless capabilities. Within the decade it will happen and its going to be crazy

Back in 2015 I went to the Microsoft store and played there VR set up b4 it was really a thing and man it was fun.
So far most comfortable vr is the psvr. Best overall content: oculus rift/quest. Best performance :HTC Vive. I also there are more expensive ones i cant afford but thats my personal experience so far. Hope to see more from the VR industry.
I'm finding games/experiences for my 58 year old mother to try out, she'll definitely like the space ones :)
@Arvensis Andromeda Has your mom tried the Wander VR app? She can use that app to visit her childhood neighborhood, schools and her favorite vacation destinations. The older people I know really like the Wander VR experience.

The problem with some of these is the video quality is very blurry or very low quality, sort of like very low resolution. It looks extremely compressed.
Lone Echo was one of my first VR games on the htc vive a few years ago, still one of the best looking vr games out there but can't seem to run in on the g2 using revive anymore !

Get vr and No Man’s Sky, it is a game yes, but after the tutorial you can fly through space and can go from planet to planet which are so far apart that it could take hours to get to unless you speed up to light speed

@@HOLLYHOUSE11 You can land on planets, see some creatures, get spaceships, and a lot more stuff it's really fun.
I like one called Lunar Flight you pilot a lunar module around different lunar terrains and perform tasks. Graphics are great and it is based on the sim they used to train astronauts. It is very challenging.
These VR experiences are nothing without the sounds blasting in your ear.

Don’t need a computer for this. The oculus quest 2 is stand alone. It’s like your App Store on your phone. That’s how you get games and whatever. Or just surf CZcams VR and watch 1000’s of immersive VR videos. You never know that CZcams VR even existed till you click on CZcams on your Home Screen and it brings you right to the CZcams VR version all the videos are like your in it.
Also there is a option to link your oculus to a PC to play extremely graphically high end. Only a super pc video card can render those kind of graphics. Which is expected to be honest. Most of my friends thought you needed to be tethered to a pc just to play. I tried to explain to them that it’s almost a 100% stand alone. If u want the super graphics u can connect to a pc but not needed. Good luck if u don’t already have one
Except for that Fairground fun Play centre game { and as you said even as an adult it looks good in place good} I get sick playing all the other games. I’m crushed. Even doing that Google painting makes me sick. Anyway I’m old and the kids enjoy it so that’s all that’s important. However I remember the day space invaders came out and as we sat and played it {at the corner store} and dreamt of the day VR would arrive and even though it’s not perfect its so much better than space invaders. to bad that in any vr games you can't just be able to play through the hole world and play laser tag at a giant place with lots of games.i don't get why in most of the first person vr games you can't move anywhere and in the ones that you can move to places its always a really violent game or something.i just really don't get why i can't just have an open world first game thats basically life except that you can go to any place for free and that you can travel on airplanes and stuff like that.so why is there no vr game anything close to that?
I agree..it seems that the vr developing companies are making the same mistake as hollywood everything has to be shootem up and violent. The only free world game I play is The Hunter Call of the Wild. I don't kill anything just walk through the woods and stuff.

perhaps the weight of the controllers will be able to adjust in the future so if you were holding a gun in the vr world, your controllers will become the same weight for more immersive shooter games.

It’s mind blowing. I thought blah blah yeah I’ve seen the google cardboard and stuff which was cool but it wasn’t there yet. My friend got the quest 2 and told me I had to come over and try it. I wasn’t expecting much. I knew from the 1st 5 seconds I had it on it was wicked. And had to have one. U won’t be sorry. I haven’t played xbox1 in a year

The fishing game was the only descent looking game. Most VR stuff is FPS, Flight Sims or kiddy games and crap graphics. I stayed away and bought the Avegant Glyphs for 100 bucks with TrackIR. After being involved with VR for about a year I bought the Dell g5. The only games I play are Assetto Corsa, Lunar Flight, Deep Diving Sim, Hunter Call of the Wild and Take on Helicopters. I'm not seeing too many other games worth a darn in VR. They all are shootem up or just visually crap.
