@@freshkingdior2351 In the Vader comics ( Canon btw ) Vader has a force vision relieving the events of RotS where he rises from the lava kills Obi-Wan and chokes Padme, willingly and not lost in rage.
It's interesting, because Malgus' love also made him stronger. She was his weakness but also his strength.
@@spiderdog07darth malgus believed that his love for her, actually stood in the way of his connection to the dark side of the force, not allowing him to reach his full potential. She had also became a liability that could be used as leverage against him in both combat and, the sith political arena. Also, harboring love for Elena, went against his personal philosophy of the force. There was no room for conflicting emotions, such as love, if he where to channel a state of pure rage, while simultaneously keeping his calm and awareness. Leading to his invention of one of the most powerful combative force maneuvers known, (the force maelstrom). This same move was explored by darth sidious 3000 years later, and he turned it into a force of mass destruction, known as force tempest. If there was room for love, it would be for the Sith empire…Sorry bout that, I’m just bored and and blabbing😂😅😉.
After the legacy of the Sith trailer drop. Malgus is no longer a Sith. He is a Force Lord. He is called a traitor by the dark tooper he kills at the start and you hear him say "This is how the Sith and Jedi maintain control" .....Over the force. Time to update what is Malgus.
You're absolutely right! I'll be making follow up videos for Malgus and also about this "Darth Nul" character. *Oh yeah it's all coming together.*
Ehhh he is still following the Sith Code to the letter. As Kreia said "the Sith is a belief", not something physical: it is a philosophical outlook. With that in mind, I would say that Malgus, while still being a Sith Lord, disagrees with the principles of the Sith Empire (which in itself is not really the Sith Order, just an imperialized society based around Sith culture and ideals). I would even go as far as to conclude that Malgus is more of a Sith than many so-called "Sith Lords" within the Empire.
My interpretation anyway.
@@jakobrenner2230 I think a good comparison would be Malgus and Maul. Both traitors to their empire and actively trying to undermine the sith, yet very much still following the sith code.
@@quothmorgan There are certainly parallels between the two characters, particularly their opposition to the "mainstream" Sith organization of their respective eras while still holding on to their fundamental ideals. The difference between them is that Maul only left the Order of the Sith Lords because Sidious betrayed him first, so his motivation comes from a place of pure vengance. Malgus' rage against the Sith Empire, by contrast, comes from a place of disappointment and disgust rather than solely revenge because he has a fundamental philosophical disagreement about what the Sith should be.
Come to think of it, an individual like Darth Malgus would've been a great mentor for Maul in ways Sidious never was. Pity they were separated by millenia.
@@jakobrenner2230 I agree. The title earned remains, no matter that he’s a traitor to the Empire. He says himself “I’ve obtained what maybe Sith aspire to be rarely achieve…freedom.” I’m loving this story line and look forward to see where it’s going.
I love darth malgus so much hes swtor darth vader.
Yea he's basically the Darth Vader of his time. In fact, Palpatine tried to model Vader after Malgus.
Exactly what I thought. And reading Deceived it makes him feel like this massive dark side object, that while not unstoppable, is very hard to defeat. I mean look at him if you fight him with the Jedi in Onslaught, he is still tough.
@@silvertemplar8061 A true Sith Juggernaut.
@@the_mad_bear3683 You may be overestimating Malgus a bit there. 3 Vaders? He might not have much of a chance. Also Vader in his own right is an Emperor's Wrath in his own time second only to Palpatine. The title may not be there, but Vader is an Emperor's Wrath on his own, just like Malgus. If nothing else, I'd say it would be a very close match for Vader vs Malgus.
I stand with this
One of the coolest sith ever

*I'm sorry about the background music okay xD - I have not used the same music again since. Malgus deserved better
Well narrated..
That's crazy that Malgus himself killed his only love out of his passion for the dark side, but it's also kinda awesome!
The pain and guilt he feels from killing her actually made him a lot stronger. So basically, He killed her because he was afraid she was his weakness, but in death, she became his source of strength.
Malgus looks so pale and deformed in appearance as a result of deep immersion and prolonged and heavy usage of the dark side of the force.
It also turned his eyes a deep Indian yellow and permanent red, fuelled by rage and anger.
His eyes are yellow-red when he uses darkside.. when he doesnt his eyes turn back to normal. As seen in latest trailer
he also sustained a lot of injuries and is actually relatively old in the more recent expansion
@@holeeshi9959 beware the old man in the profession where men die young as they say.
@@ausar3852you sure? In the newest trailer his eyes were red asf the whole time from what I remember because I remember saying to myself damn his eyes are bloodshot like he had took a couple rips from the bong
Malgus truly tried to divulge himself into the dark side. Theres a part in the novel "Deceived" (spoiler) where after taking over the jedi temple they were to demolish the temple. Instead of sending for for explosives, malgus used what was there, and he and the other sith warriors added to the demolition via explosives by using the force.
Malgus is the true OG.. an awesome character for sure! ..
I always thought they should have more factions separate from the empire and the rebels in which are on the same level of strength. It’s just boring when it’s cut and dry “light side and dark side” “empire vs rebels”. It’s cool to get a story of an actual different faction like Darth Magus. In fact the whole sequel trilogy should have had a different threats that had nothing to do with the empire, instead of running through the same old tunes, such a waste.
Agreed. Sick of the Skywalker shit they went with it makes Star Wars feel so constricted.
George Lucas's idea for the sequels involved a criminal syndicate and Darth maul at the lead of it but Disney decided nah watch me fuck this shit up
@@happyunhappy7240might want to preface that by saying one of his ideas. What I heard was he wanted to go all Quantumania and have the characters shrink down and talk to the Whills
Malgus, Marr, and Revan. The trinity of the Sith.
Malgus is like a sith empire that doesn’t segregate brings droids aliens, Mandalorians, etc tg let the Jedi go when not harming his lover see the potential of aliens and him even tho he is a sith he not a monster he a complex yet fascinating and a sith that brings untiy and respect to the sith
love the vid! but what is that donkey kong country ah music in the background😭
Darth malgus a strong sith who loved and grew stronger through loss of love
Nice video, but How did Malgus go to the Korriban academy? It was not part of the Empire yet.
That is actually quite true. For some odd reason I remember the book saying he was sent to an academy and my mind just straight up assumed Korriban. Easy to get lost in the lore. Lemme hit the book up, so I can cite his actual training location. It was likely Dromund Kaas or another nearby planet. I'll come back to this comment with an update!
Yup, Dromund Kaas!
Satille: i severely wounded malgus leaving him in need of a respirator for the rest of his life.
Ven Zallow: Yeah he'll need a dentist after meeting me 🥱
Darth malgus, the dark romantic
Through passion, I gain strength.
Through strength, I gain power.
Through power, I gain victory.
Through victory, my chains are broken.
It is really ironic that the Jedi are so against having emotion, to where as the Sith expect you to use your anger and rage, but frown upon showing emotion in a positive light. Meaning in a sense the Sith are no better than the Jedi when it comes to emotion's because the Jedi allowed no emotion, to where as the Sith only allow specific emotions. So you're still getting restricted both ways. And this is why the Gray Jedi beat out the Sith, and the Jedi hands down. No restrictions to any form of the force, any form of emotions, or teachings, that is the way of the force....Balance, anyone who's a true Star Wars fan and know the history and how the force works knows that there needs to be balance, why else whenever one side is stronger the other side gets the upper hand? Balance.
I agree with that. Life ain’t that black and white
balance. you think Ray made the balance now?
Favorite character in star wars... Very complicated and layered
Just finished book 2 and 3 (revan) about to start book 4, you did a great job summarizing it

Great video dude. 🤟🏽
Thanks you :D
Nice video, though the bg music always had me picturing Malgus dancing to it with beer bottle on one hand and his lightsaber on another.
So.... Win win? xD
Is he confusing Malgus with Bane or did they both kill their respective father's Twilek servants?
Bane did not kill a Twi'lek servant :)
Bane killed his own father without knowing he did. It took him years to realise he had been the reason.
Banes weapons teacher was a twi'lek. As said above, Bane killed his father on accident with the dark side. After a hard day at work in the mines, his father came home, drank himself into a rage, and beat him. Bane told him "Make the beating good because it'll be the last one" (paraphrasing) and then, as if a mantra, Bane said over and over to himself "I hope you die, I hope you die" and later that night, his father had a heart attack and died.
Bane's second murder was one of his fellow academy students during a practice duel.
Bane is another character I would love to see a series of like Malgus. Both are super powerful, complex characters
He is my favorite sith
Good job bro! New subscriber
Thanks friend!
This was really good
Broadsword needs to make an actual expansion that shows Malgus as the new Emperor leading the Sith to take over the galaxy. He deserves the title of Sith Emperor, and we've been waiting too long to see him purge the Jedi & finally conquer the galaxy
I thought Zallow was only a Knight. So not even a Jedi Master could take him out. Even Satelle, who if I remember correctly was GM of the Jedi Order at the time of their duel on Alderran, couldn't. Only slow him down. 🖤✊
while i appreciate that you took the time to research, write, record and cut this video, why did you choose this happy music? it just kills the mood lol. "malgus was super angry and they destroyed the temple and his lover was injured and then he was laughed at and then he killed those who laughed at him..." *_meanwhile, happy trumpets_*

we need a netflix show of Malgus
You mean Disney +? Because Disney owns the rights to SW so they would never let Netflix produce a show 🤣
Netflix would cast someone black to play Malgus.
I absolutely loved Malgus as a character. A Sith with a code of honor was sorely lacking in the world of cartoon-like villains.
Malgus is like an enraged ryno. He broke through tht force throw like it was nothing.
That Force relic Malgus was looking for in Dantooine...could it possibly be the same one the Dantooine Jedi Council used on Revan after Bastila Shan captured him?
Seems to be connected somehow yes.
He’s basically the new Bane But slightly different and I’m OK with that.
Bane is the new Malgus.
Was that treaty really the origin of the Sith Code?
A sith does not become a Darth after a few years at the academy, it is reserved for the most elite and experienced of the entire order.
In the years following the Battle of Korriban, Malgus was promoted to the rank of Sith Lord
@@deckerhouse7679 I was summarising this part.
Dear god I’d love a story where somehow there’s a holocron or datacron made by malgus himself to pass his sith teachings to the right soul who may find it, like a dark version of the King Arthur story. In all the years of the rule of 2 sith, it could never be found, but one force user somehow feels it, a dark side power, faint from a distance, but powerful the closer they get to it. This person who learns from Malgus directly gets strong teachings in the dark side focused squarely on the pure sith philosophy working to align with other living creatures. What we’d get would be someone strong in the dark side, has no qualms using it, but the goal is to secure and expand alliances and bonds.
Great video, seriously good work
Earned a sub, but
Whats up with the music choices quite distracting, some deep ominous tale about a great sith, with 70s pron music haha, seriously though, enjoyed the vid.

We need these action figures. I think it would be so awesome. The made Revan let's make the rest.
I asked the devs about this one time. They said they don't communicate with Hasbro about this stuff so I guess it's upto someone else within the "Star Wars" franchise, likely someone at Disney, who has the ability to get it done. Kinda sucks :(
That being said, plenty of fan made stuff out there!
Good News, Star Wars Black series have just released a Malgus figure, got mine yesterday 🙂
Me when I first meet Malgus: “Hello.” 👋 “Please do not scare me or I might poo. Thank you.
How could Malgus be trained at Korriban if they hadn’t retaken Korriban?
That's a flub / mistake on my end. I had the "SWTOR" theme burned into my mind while editing / narrating so much to the point I just said Korriban.
This wouldn't be the first time i've made an honest mistake and got lost in the lore. It's easy to happen... Sorry about that. I did clarify with a pinned comment!
However, some conspiracy theorists will say I puposely said something wrong, to inspire people to comment and correct the information. Of course on a popular video like this that means a lot of comments per day, saying "malgus trained on DK not Korriban". Which in turn tells youtube this is a *good video* because it's getting a lot of comments... It's a funny notion. But it's a genuine honest mistake on my end and I strive for accuracy in my lore videos. If i'm ever wrong, you'll see a pinned comment! Taking credit for our mistakes is key to improving.
What I do not understand about Sith is that love is seen as weakness, but part of their code is "there is only passion".
Love is passion. Using passion would make them stronger - would love not be something the Sith would be wise to cherish then?
The Bane book looks at this aspect of the dark side, however not from the angle of love but from the angle of hate. Let me explain. Love and hate, essentially have the same amount of power through use of the dark side. However, one must be in full control of their emotions so be able to fully control their dark power. If you can not control those emotions, then the dark side will consume you and turn against you.
Bane in his youth, learned he was responsible for his fathers death. Which forced him to feel remorse/guilt from the very flame that use to stoke anger and fury within him. The lesson here, is that a Sith lord cannot control their power, when they love another. To love someone is a chain. As Malgus puts it, a chain to a conscience. A chain to an innocent emotion that fuels nothing but blasphemy in the eyes of Sith culture. To love someone, tuly love someone, you allow yourself to become weak and vulnerable. You allow peace into your heart... The first line of the Sith code is something we all know well. Peace, is a lie.
All imma say is that I just kept laughing at your accent through the video :'D
Nice Video

not on Korriban I think, since in the trailer Malgus says that they finally got Korriban back, and Malgus was already a sith
