@@amank.7052 Abramovich's money changed the game. Wenger had very little and dominated English football. Only Ferguson matches with Wenger because both played bold, entertaining and attractive football. This is how the game should be played. No one likes to watch dull football where a manager like Mourinho sets up "not-to-lose"" rather than setup to win. It's gutless, spiritless and boring which is symbolic of the man himself. That's why he was fired twice at Chelsea, once at Real Madrid and now Utd. Mourinho always had money behind him barring Porto where his CL victory is glorified by the dunces of the world like you because you don't even know how lucky they were to even get to the final. Paul Scholes' goal against Porto should have been allowed which in turn would have knocked Porto out and no one would be genuflecting to Mourinho's CL win with Porto. Only 2 managers in the English game stand-out and that is Wenger and SAF, no surprise why they reigned at their respective clubs for long periods

No one understands that Arsenal were in dire straits in the post-stadium years. The banks refused the loans Arsenal needed to pay off the stadium, unless they got Champions League football. Arsene had immense pressure on him. He simply HAD to secure a CL spot for the sake of the club. And he had to do so with his best players being sold, and his new arrivals not being of the same quality. It was a tactical masterstroke to secure CL football year after year with the players he had. And he made great personal and proffessional sacrifices to oversee that period for the club he loved with every fibre of his being. He suffered constant ridicule and abuse for not winning trophies, all the while knowing the club would go bust if he didn't put all his efforts into getting in the top four. Make no mistake, Arsene not only turned Arsenal into a global and successful club with a great reputation - But he also saved the club in more ways than people realise. Without ever mentioning it, or wanting any acclaim for it. He is the greatest manager to ever grace the touchline at Highbury/Emirates. And deserves all the credit people can give.

There is no higher accolade for a man than those from his most bitter rival. Plain and somber words from a man who had won everything everywhere he went yet could not accomplish what Wenger did with his “Invincibles” of 2003-04 season. Mourinho is not known for mincing words when he criticizes nor when he praises. Without a great rival, victory is not as sweet.
