We will be taking a cruise with Viking in summer of 2022. What type of cabin did you stay in? Did you fly in the same day as the departure on the ship?? Did you give gratuities directly to the staff or the amount Viking wants to charge you up front??? What time of year did you go? I am so glad you shared this.
This was early January. We got the regular veranda category cabin. If we book flights ourselves we would normally fly in the day before but since we arranged with Viking fly in was the day of. They did great job at organizing transportations and because they stayed overnight at embarkation port, even if we were to miss a flight we would have had extra day to get onboard.
We are booked on the lowest category also because Viking cabins are bigger than other cabins anyway. No worried about coffee machine or priority bookings for restaurants or excuy
Excursions
My wife and I will be traveling on Viking in April from Barcelona to Rome. Thank you for the intro to Barcelona. This will be our second sea cruise, the last was from Athens to Venice on Viking Jupiter. We have also had the pleasure of a Viking River Cruise from Paris to Normandy. Viking Cruises are warranted of their 5 Star ratings. Is it possible to take a taxi instead of bus from Barcelona to the ship if we wanted to explore more of the city.
We did city tour excursion but Viking has complementary shuttle bus running between terminal and the south side of Barcelona downtown (sorry, can’t remember exact point though) but there were taxis available right at the terminal too. Have a great trip!!

It was early January
