Probably the most professional rendition of cruise videos in the current era with a soothing and witty commentary
Your comment has made my week. Thank you sir. ❤️
So enjoyed this! Loved the music, too…. We are Viking fans - five cruises so far!
Thank you 😊
You are hilarious. I'm still laughing at "Buffet Endgame"! But, I want to see more food in your videos!!!
Thank you Melanie. You might find our Dining Guides are just the thing you're looking for. :)
thank you for making/posting - So enjoy your videos - they're great! Your voice is just perfect for them. Loved the hot/cold scenes, and learning about the ship's clean emissions - good to hear. Of course my fave is seeing the food & drink shots!!!
Thank you 😊
Thanks for watching 👍
I would be pleased to have lamb, (and whisky), for breakfast.
Oh yes, lamb and whisky, the classic breakfast! 😂
Thanks for sharing your “Viking” experience with us. These UK sailings are ideal to try a new line and should they extend their UK sailings into September, you’ve convinced us to give them a try (enjoyed our first river cruise with Viking Dec 2019). Quality content, keep ‘em coming. OTBC!
Great quality video and the intro was fantastic. Love your wry sense of humour. I have to say you didn’t sell me on the Acquavit!
Another awesome video. Ben and David was a nice addition.
Glad you enjoyed it Robert. :)
8:16 Nice shot of Ben & David! Thanks for this lovely video-I’m a Viking fan & you’ve done a great job.
I was so proud of myself when I spotted them. Sigh* I have no life 🤪
Haha! Thanks Robin. :)
They're in part 1 too if you look hard enough. ;)
You can see Gary Bembridge (Tips for Travellers) as well at 14:36
What a wonderful video. The food-yummy. Loved the intro. That wake….the view. That sushi. The chill on deck
Thanks so much Jo. Glad you enjoyed it. :)
This is my new favorite channel!!! Your music is subtle and your commentaries are so funny! Great channel!
Thank you 😊
And thanks for watching 👍
We just returned from the Viking Sky Iceland cruise, July 3-10. It was outstanding. The crew was phenomenal.
Yes, couldn’t agree more. 👍😀
FIRST !! Yay. I love watching these videos, well done. One day we will get to sail on Viking, when the world rights itself !! Happy Saturday Rich and Helen.
Thanks Jeremy! Happy Sunday to you too! :D
Wonderful ship. Wonderful video. I don't now how you do it but watching your videos with the way of your presentation has a wonderful calming effect. Thank you!
Thank you very much! We like to keep things calm. There's already too much adrenaline fuelled stuff on CZcams. :D
Thanks for another excellent video, Richard and Helen. We agree with you that the Viking buffet is top notch. We also think that the Oceania buffet is equally impressive. You should try it sometime. We are eagerly awaiting the arrival of their nest ship, Vista, will launch in 2023. Oceania has posted a couple recent videos of Vista on their YT channel. She looks incredible.
For those of you that are liking the fact that Ben and David are in this video, you should check out the previous video from embarkation day. Ben and David also make a cameo in that video, but you have to look for it.
Thanks Kevin. We are really looking forward to meeting Vista too! And yes, B&D are very subtly in Part 1 if you look hard enough. 😆
Did you also spot Gary Bembridge? He's there in both parts, but you have to look. ;)
@@visitwithus Dang it, now I gotta go back and look for Gary. I guess I just have to look for the sun shining off of the chrome dome.
Sorry Gary, I couldn't help myself. If you are ever looking for me, then just look for the grey beret.
I guess we are all getting a little older.
Not to doubt the quality of the pasties on board, but Cornish pasties are *never* crimped across the top--only around the edge!
Thanks for another top quality video, and excellent narration.
Haha! Yes, my aunt is Cornish and she would whole heartedly agree with you! :D
I'm convinced to take a cruise on Viking Venus. Thanks for the wonderfully informative videos, guys!!
Our pleasure Michael! There's more to come so please subscribe and stay tuned! :D
Just so you're aware, you don't have to take a cruise on this exact ship. Viking isn't like other cruise lines where certain ships only go to certain places. All of their ships go to most of their destinations. All you have to worry about is booking the destination you want to go to because all of their ships are essentially identical inside.
some of the (if not the) best cruising content on youtube!
Thank you so much! 🙏❤
Charmingly narrated
Thank you for watching. :)
VERY AMUSING
Why Thank you! :D
Thank you for this. Very informative!
Thank you for watching Evelyn. ☺️
Thanks so much for this. We’ve sailed with quite a few lines but after getting a little fed up with huge amounts of people on board, Viking it is for us next!
Hopefully it will reinvigorate your love of cruising 🛳❤️
Thanks for watching 👍
@@visitwithus Iona was great in 2021 since it was at about 40% capacity but this year Princess Enchanted was a little crowded!
Sailed on the Viking Venus around Iceland in July. Wonderful ship and amazing cruise. So happy to be back on Viking during Covid19. We felt safe and thoroughly enjoyed the trip. This was our 5th and 3 more in 2022!!
Indeed, the Venus is a wonderful ship and felt so safe. :)
Wil be sailing in a couple weeks. What was weather Ike?
Richard has to be the funniest English man I know, right up there with Jeremy Clarkson... absolutely love it
Wow! Praise indeed. Thank you so much. ☺️
Fine vlog. We will be sailing on the Viking Venus in February 2022- “Search of the Northern Lights”- London to. Bergen. Can’t wait. Cheers!
Gah! Wish we were coming with you Michel! The Northern Lights is on our bucket list. :)
Just returned from our Iceland Viking cruise. Next one is Oct 2.
We hope you had a brilliant time!
I agree, I always get up very early on cruises and go to the gym and then watch the sunrise, just so invigorating. Buffet Endgame is a great way to describe it, a really different experience from other lines. We did the full Liverpool experience a few years ago on our Brtitish Isles cruise and it was FAB Four Us. 🤣. I really loved the Viking Spa, especially the snow grotto after coming out of the steam room. I also did the cold water plunge and water bucket in the locker room...ONCE. BBBRRRR. As I mentioned to you earlier, we were supposed to be on the Venus right now in the Viking Homelands so I do hope you enjoyed my cabin, it was a penthouse veranda. Oh well, we are rebooked on the Venus for 2023 for the Viking Homelands and we'll enjoy it then. Cheers.
Thanks for watching and commenting Lou. We love reading your feedback and cruise stories! ❤
@@visitwithus Many thanks for sharing your trips.
Lovely video, despite the covid restrictions still looked like a very enjoyable cruise
Yes, they really made it feel like the world was ‘back to normal’.
My Viking one is in 16 days! so excited! Thanks for all the details!
Thank YOU Grace. I hope you have a brilliant time! :D
Grace, which ship you are going to be?
@@truestory3018 Jupiter!
@@xunyangful Jupiter is full of amazing staff members, you are going to enjoy there :)
@@truestory3018 Thanks!
Fantastic video. I was wondering if it was the same cruise Ben and David was on, I was keeping a watch in the background, until you mentioned them in the Gin tasting. Looking add doing a cruise to Norway or Scandinavia or Baltic. Looking at either Viking, Princess or Holland America so doing a bit of research by video watching at the moment. I’m really enjoying your Videos.
Hi Kes. Thanks for the compliment! Yes, we were on the same voyage and B&D and also Gary Bembridge. It wasn't planned lol! We've known each other for a long time. :) Good luck with choosing. All three are fabulous brands! :D
Very nice video as always ❤️
Thank you Joseph. :)
What a perfect video! Loved your sense of humor, editing and beautiful music. We will be on the Viking Orion in 33 days to the West Indlies. These ships are almost duplictes, so I very much enjoyed your video! Can't wait for the food. What software do you use for editing and where do you find your music? Fantastic! Liked and subscribed.
Glad you enjoyed it and THANK YOU SO MUCH for subscribing! We really appreciate the support. :) More Venus content coming soon. :)
You do the best videos. Ever.
Thank you 😊
And thanks for watching 👍
Brill as always. Next time we meet the Aquavit will be on me 🍸🍸😂😂
Haha! If you promise, it's a date! 😂
Your explanation of aquavit is not wrong, but slightly misleading. Linie aquavit is only one of many brands of aquavit, and it's the only one (to my knowledge) that gets shipped around during its maturation.
Aquavit is a type of snaps (Scandinavian spiced alcohol, similar in name to German schnapps, but much less sweet in taste) where the primary spice is either dill or cumin. Other spices are frequently used to complement them, but dill and/or cumin are always dominant. Some aquavits are aged on oak barrels, but most are not. In Denmark and Norway, aquavit is by far the most popular form of snaps, but Sweden has a much broader range of flavoring, with stuff like elderberry flowers and black currant being a few examples.
for information; ""Akevitt is mostly served together with a dark beer with Norwegian Christmas food to neutralize the fatty food and help the digestion ! Not as a stand alone cocktail - its way to strong for that ;)
😂😂😂
Thanks for watching - and the sage advice 🧐
Well done! What was that gorgeous choral music during the segment on Falmouth?
thank you. I'm afraid I've forgotten what that music is! Sorry! :D
You look like a true Viking!
Thank you. Never been likened to a Viking before. I quite like it. 😂
Your videos are so well done! That itinerary looks dreary and sad though - we will skip it
thnak you for your kind words. We hope you subscribe. ;) As for the itinerary, yes we tend to agree with you but this was during the height of covid and ships couldn't sail out of the UK, so they had to stay around the UK. We were just glad to get on a Viking ship! :D
Buffet endgame, that’s a great phrase😂
Say it like it is… 😂
Well, the patterns on the sweaters are traditional protection patterns, they're protective spells, and you can never be too protected.
So wives would knit them for their husbands when they went out to sea, where as we all know the worse things happened.
Thanks for watching and for the charming explanation of the pattern ❤️😊
Great video as usual.
Do you get permission to fly the drone? I'd have thought Liverpool dock would be banned?
My Venus cruise for 24 July has been cancelled.... Can't get insurance because of the UK gov advisory against sailing on cruise ships in international waters... Ship still sailing (US guests) but no Brits. The 14th sailing just had 167 on board!
Shame about your Venice cruise. 🙁 Yes, I did get permission from both Viking and the port authority to fly my drone. Unfortunately it was very gusty and the seagulls were attacking it, so I couldn’t do much.
@@visitwithus yes, seagulls can be a real pain. Had that in Portovenere in Italy and frequently filming at Dartford Bridge. I've found trying to out manouver them just makes them mad. Straight up does the trick.
@@lesonline2268 Haha! Yes, you can’t out-fox them, they just chase after you! 😂
Will you be posting the room tour video you mentioned in the first vlog?
Hi Monica. Thank you for watching. Yes, we will be uploading that as soon as it's ready. Sorry for the delay - I'm a bit behind with the schedule at the moment, but please enjoy the other releases while we work on that one. :)
Liverpool's Unesco world heritage site status has been removed now - due to over development. Honestly.
I think they still have it… just. Wasn’t it threatened and they are appealing?
@@visitwithus They will be mounting an appeal (according to the Beeb) but for now the decision held by ballot at a UN meeting in China stands. Its bad for the north west and not just Liverpool, something we could be proud of, but its still a lovely place to look round full of history. I enjoyed your video thank you.
@@PetalsonthePavingSlabs If it’s removed, it’s an absolute travesty! It’s a stunning waterfront with real and meaningful history. Let’s hope they see sense. 🙏❤️
You’re killing me recommending we watch videos in the series that aren’t released yet!!
Sorry about that. 😂
Booked for Norway etc 2023. Fingers crossed the Australian govt let’s us out. !
Can you give a ball park figure for the excursions that you pay for. $$$. Thanks.
Hi Karen. Urgh, 2023 seems such a long way away, doesn't it? Can't help with excursions I'm afraid - there weren't that many on this cruise because of COVID. :(
It all depends on how many "included excursions you plan on doing. Excursions can cost anywhere between $50 - $200 a person. You have to do your research on each port to decide what you want to do. Some ports they stop at to get supplies, and they offer excursions, but those excursions may be something that you don't even want to see. Therefore you may want to just stay onboard. I'm doing the Viking Homelands cruise in May of 2023, and some ports of call I want to do multiple excursions, and other ports I either don't want to do an excursion or I just want to do the 2-3 hour included bus/walking tour. I did a cruise with Viking back in 2018 to Cuba and I did an excursion every single day the ship was docked in a port. For me personally, it was exciting to get out and see the country every single day, but a couple of the days I wish I would have just stayed on the ship and went to the spa or laid out on the sun deck because I was so mentally exhausted from everything.
