The links below should still work and it will give you an idea of price and where to buy the equipment. I am a man who likes a good price so I always go looking for the best deal. Hope you got something out of this video.
1. Led nav lights - www.bcf.com.au/p/blueline-led...
a. Stainless steel bolts, nuts and washers to secure nav lights!

When aluminum and stainless steel are used in an assembly together, the electrons from the aluminum will begin to transfer into the stainless steel. This results in the aluminum weakening. This weakened aluminum causes it to deteriorate at a much faster rate. This can lead to an extended life of the stainless steel.
3:08 “are you happy with that job” 🤣
How else would you splice into a cable?
Mate, that switch panel is mint!
Thanks mate 👌
Nice vid mate! Pimpn that boat 🍻😁
I figure it might help someone and I had the footage. Why not!
Looks nice mate!
Cheers mate. Works a treat 👌
Thanks for the video! I’m about to get cracking on doing the lights on my 16 footer.
No worries mate. Good luck!
Snagd Fishing thanks Sir! Took my time soddering & it works like a champ. Just need a battery & I’ll be set for a minute.
Helps if your rig has pre fabricated placement for port/starboard..my old 3m Quinny doesnt .. gonna have to fabricate some type of stainless mount
Nice video, was hoping you would go in depth of how your switch panel is wired. Going to install nav lights and anchor light on my tinny next weekend
If there is anything else you'd like to know just send me a message on instagram or here. Happy to help. I've had zero problems with all my wiring since its been done. Definitely recommend 👍
@@snagdfishing I just finished watching part 2 where you explained it all! Makes sense. Cheers mate. This has helped me a lot
No worries mate. Glad I could help 🤙
Might need a bigger flame guys lol
Great vid thanks
Haha yeah We went on a bit of a fire mission. Thanks mate.
Zane you happy with your electrical switch’s.??About to install, nav lights, bilge pump and live well pump.
Cheers
I've been running that exact same setup for 3 years now. I have had zero issues. I love it.
Don’t use stainless with aluminium it causes the aluminium to oxidise.
Oh that nav light connection and soldering.... shudder. On the bright side you can do it properly in 12 months time ;-)
That connection (along with all my connections) are going strong for 18mths now. How do you connect your wires?
@@snagdfishing with heat shrinked crimp connections, backed over with double wall shrink and conduit. But to be honest I avoid that situation of a connection like that altogether, I would have made another run of twin core from the switch to the other light. Better redundancy and you wont have a Port light less bright than your Starboard from voltage drop. From the look of it your sparky mate isn't in the marine game. I re-wired a mates 460 renegade from a "reputable" dealer after just 24 months due to the shit work, prob from a sparky that is use to doing houses. I've done fitouts on all my boats, from standalone 12V to run nav lights on a 3.5m car topper to my latest, fitting out a 7m glass boat with twin garmin 7412, autopilot, NMEA network, fusion stereo with amp and sub, with all the bells and whistles that come along with a new boat of that size. Electrical gremlins are the bane of boats and can destroy a day so easily. I have helped mates with theirs and most of the time it is down to a dodgy connection.
Soldering irons exist
thanks for that.just reaching that stage of wiring all the bits and pieces in, is it worth running the wiring in conduits or how did you secure the wires to the hull. the previous owner used some sort of glue but i think it looks crap
No worries. Conduit would be a bad idea if you dont have a gunnel. I used these sticky squares that stick to the underside and a zip tie goes through them and secures the wires.
@@snagdfishing its a 20 foot trailer sailer so i'll try that. i just don't want it to look crappy if you know what i mean, it has taken 20 years to finally get the wife to come out in a boat with me and i don't want anything to put her off..lol
Haha mate I know exactly what you mean. Gotta keep everything perfect. Let me know how it all goes 👌
Where did you get the switch panel box and switch board
Electrical wholesaler 👌👌
Hey mate what switch panel is that?
Just jump onto my CZcams channel and on the first vid (part 1) of the DIY series I post a link of the gear I use in the videos description.
It's from a boating store.
