Video I used to help with first steps • Acura TL: #Cup Holder ...
Hope you enjoy the video. I recommend this 100% if you want crisper faster shifting.
Please like, comment, share, and subscribe for more!!! #4thgentl #savethemanuals #jseries
Longest video yet, took a total of around 18-20 hrs for install/editing. Please subscribe and help support the build.
Edit: I have since uninstalled this, cause it was making me grind gears too much and slowing my shifts down.
I have 06 AV6 and was thinking about buying this, so you wouldn't recommend?
I know for this car I wouldn't recommend, because the stock shifter and throw is really short anyway. If you have a longer throw it might help, but I just kept grinding gears with it👎.
@@RevsALot oh ok, thanks for the reply and keep up the vids 👍👍
Glad someone out here is still making videos on 6-6 mods! I have an 8th gen accord 6-6 and following your vids helped me decide what parts I wanna get!
Nice! Glad they're helping out a bit. I'm working on getting an 8th gen 6-6 for the channel, hopefully by end if summer if all goes well🤞!
Just by looking at how it shifts I know it is super smooth and notchy
Wow... I knew it was difficult but not on this level! the instructions always make it seem easier than it is
Might be easier on accords. Also, might be able to install it without taking the whole shifter box out.
@@RevsALot It is wayyy easier on the 9th gen accords, depends if you have the rear climate or not though. If you dont its really easy i can take my center console out in like 2 minutes lol
@@DeathStrike-jk8gt damn, well if I ever get one I'll make sure not to get rear climate. Thanks for the info!🙌
i did this and the hybrid bushings on my 6-6 7th gen accord. really love it super fun and notchy. i would only do the short shift on my 3.7 TL tho. i like the "softness" of the stock bushings since its a more luxurious car than the accord.
Nice👍! My stock bushings were done for, causing me to grind and shifts were stiff and not smooth. Also, after driving this for a cpl weeks I agree with the short shifter adapter part, kind of took away the smooth shifting and makes it harder to get in 4th quickly not sure if I bent something or what.
@@RevsALot i like it man. i subbed good channel i blew up your comments a bit lol.
i've really been saving up i think one day i wanna get the Gerzy Bear supercharger kit. 5500 USD for the kit aint no joke... then more for installation... and tuning.. and if you want to retain Air Con... jeezz... its gonna add up. but such a nice car not common to see a 400 WHP awd car like that. (when tuned properly)
@@Corkoth55 thanks for the support!👊 I know what you mean, it'll cost me over $10k CAD but it's going in as soon as I pay this off.
@@RevsALot you madman. haha.. i gotta do it now.
The hybrid bushings, for the base of shifter or the endlinks on the motor or other? Starting a build in new-to-me 6-6 7th gen also, same set ups as acura tl and TLX, ..and prelude.
Just ordered this also, but I ended up getting the unicorn rare v6 6speed manual accord. It feels faster than wife's acura tl with intake and exhaust on hers, maybe a lighter car with accord. Whew, stoked!! the motors are very similar with interchangeable parts.
Nice! Accord or TL manual are both great fun cars👍. TL is more luxury so is a bit heavier, but I love the luxury feel. I actually removed this on the TL, cause was grinding gears too much. The accord seems to have a longer throw then the TL though, so this could definitely benefit it.
@@RevsALot Oh really, I didnt even think of that issue. Whelp, I'll try it. Ordered INJEN CAI, Magnaflow full catback and PLM Jpipe setup with wheels, front lenses and full L.E.D. system swap. I tell you, with this lower weight car I am stoked.
@@RevsALot Wow, looked like fun. Oye....
Just threw mine in on my 2005. Was annoying to install but all said and done it’s worth 😂
I like it for cruising, but I feel I could shift faster more comfortably with the oem shifter🤷♂️.
Awesome video once again, had some good laughs cause I'm gonna be busting some clips too installing it, clutch and flywheel should be here in 2 weeks 🤞.
Haha that's good, and good luck with everything👍
Nice I’m planning on doing this to my 6-6 accord
Sweet! You're gonna love it!
Same! Just bought it for mine
Can you post a link for the shifter adapter? I’ve been wanting to to get one for my TL as well! Short shifters make the feel so much better!
Heeltoeauto.com For some reason direct link won't work, so you can google tl sh awd short shifter adapter and it'll pop right up
RevsALot thanks! I’m excited to finally do something to my TL and thanks for posting all your stuff, it’s an inspiration to get stuff done.
@@carlosestrada6348 Np, lots more to come!🤙
love the tutorial man
Thanks for the video
Keep it coming
Hi do you know what the measurements of the bushing outside diameter
Any one out there know how to remove the side panels to the center console on the 4G TL with the manual shifter box? I got the cup holder and trims all off but I really want to remove the side panels and pull the entire console out so I can install my hybrid racing shifter into my 4G TL , there is not much room in there, so annoying , I think removing the side panels would make life a lot easier, I did that on my 3G TLS , removing and reinstalling the shifter box was a lot easier
I couldn't figure out how to remove the side panels. Had a cpl haters commenting how much more difficult I made the job by not removing those, but nobody has showed me how to remove those. I think they might pop off with some force, but too scared to try. P.S. I pinned my comment that I did remove this cause it was causing me to grind gears too much. It make the shift way too short and too notchy/stiff I find.
@@RevsALot yeah bro , not a simple task
Where can i buy one of these? and something that fits my 3rd gen 2008 Acura TL Type-S. This gotta be way cheaper option that those full kit after-market ones around $500+. I don't think that it's worth it.
I would contact at heeltoeauto.com on IG or check out his website.
The throw is shorter but does it still feel like oem? Not like you have to force it to gear
No, feels like you have to force it into gear. I find it's slowed down my shifting so far.
Keep it up💯🤙🏻
I forgot to apply the locktite, will anything bad happen?
It might come lose, hopefully not though...I uninstalled this, made me grind gears way too much
Unlikely!
Just cause the 4G shifter is already very short compared to Accords and 3rd gen TL imo. So this just makes it extremely hard to get into the proper slot I found. Also, it made it almost too notchy, so it didn't glide into the gears as smooth.
Hi and thanks for the video..but how the shifter doing after you installed it. Thanks
It made me grind gears too much, the 4g TL shifter is already pretty short throw so it was hard to get in the right slot when shifting fast. I removed it and haven't grinded since.
@@RevsALot I installed the same based on your videos, the hybrid racing bushing and short shifter. I find it tougher to put into first and second... did you remove the short shift adapter or the bushings to get back to smoother shifts? If the adapter how the hell did you get it off?
I removed the short shifter, cause I kept grinding and couldn't shift as fast since it was too notchy. I drenched it in nail polish remover and let it sit lol.
Hello, would this fit on a 2011 Honda accord 2.4l?
I'm not 100% sure tbh, but I think so.
@@RevsALot thank you for your reply, I have been looking for a short throw shifter for the longest and all I can find is for the V6.
Any kseries one should work, you can get the whole short shifter box, cables and all for a decent price on Ebay
@@RevsALot thank you , do you have a link? Would Amazon work too? Plus what should I type ?
@@user-up4qj6cr6t I'm not sure, I wouldn't want to give you a false link. You'd just have to Google it and try to find it.
Do they make a caged shifter assembly for the 6-6?
I think so, but I wanted to keep the oem look at the time.
@@RevsALot been trying to locate one but I just can't find a company that makes one
@@lcameeno1 I think you'd have to use one from an accord, but I don't think it's been done yet might need some custom work
Does it work on v4 accord? 2008?
It's not called a V4, but yes it should work the same👍
@@RevsALot wish I had V6 lol but thanks man great channel 👍🏽
Intake sound 🙂
No intake in this video lol, the lightweight flywheel makes it rev way louder.
How did u get the Acura logo to stay on screen
czcams.com/video/eAKtdjD-xrQ/video.html @1:28
Do you have a link for 07 acura tl ?
Should be the the exact same part
Nice add on bro, hows the clutch feeling?
It's still making that noise, it grabs really good I just hope it last a while.
What kind/ year TL is that?
2013 4th Gen TL, 3.7 6MT SH-AWD
This is so painful to watch 😂. If you took 5-10 minutes to remove the center console, you would have saved HOURS on this install!
Probably, but you can make a how to video with a 4G 6MT, so I can learn. I was too scared to break something on the console lol.
Im sorry but where in the hell is CT Engineering? So I can order one for my 6mt!
Don't do it, totally ruins the shifting just grinds into gears left right and center.
@@RevsALot Really? Okay GM syncromesh, and bushings it is.
Not an easy task * does it with one hand *
Reeeeeeeevvv
You honestly did this all wrong 💀
