    • @nuelonyedikaokpala
      @nuelonyedikaokpala  Před 2 měsíci

      Sorry to hear that. Unfortunately, as one of the best universities in EUROPE with very cheap tuition fees, they usually receive more applications than the available spaces, making it highly competitive and, hence, a higher assessment standard. Well, you have to decide if you want to appeal or not based on the reason for refusal. If you have evidence to prove them wrong, go ahead. You have to make that determination.
      Good luck.

      Follow what the law says. It is advisable to use your account or your parents. Read more below:
      Step 1: before entering the country
      Temporary authorisation to stay
      The future third-country student must submit an application for a temporary authorisation to stay (on plain paper) from their country of origin:
      to the General Department of immigration; or
      to a Luxembourg diplomatic or consular representation or to a diplomatic or consular mission representing Luxembourg.
      The application must be submitted and approved before entering the country. Applications submitted from Luxembourg are inadmissible.
      The application for a temporary authorisation to stay must contain the applicant's identity details (surname(s), first name(s) and address) and must be accompanied by the following documents and information:
      a copy of their valid passport, in its entirety;
      where applicable, a copy of the residence permit issued in another EU Member State if they already reside in the Schengen area;
      an extract from their criminal record or an affidavit (sworn declaration) established in the country of residence;
      proof that they are enrolled in a higher education establishment in Luxembourg and, if applicable, proof that they benefit from:
      a European Union programme or a multilateral programme with mobility measures; or
      an agreement between 2 or more higher education institutions;
      proof of sufficient resources to cover for living expenses and return-travel costs. The monthly resources must amount to at least 80 % of the current social inclusion income. The following may be used as proof:
      the original document of the certificate of scholarship or student loan stating the amount and its duration;
      an original bank certificate and a bank statement for the past 6 months:
      attesting that the student has enough financial resources on their own account; or
      in case the student is supported by the parents: attesting that the student's parents have enough financial resources and that they are financially solvent and capable to cover subsistence costs, medical and study cost for at least one year (12 months) as well as return travel costs;
      the original financial statement of support for the intention of the Luxembourg State and the student, signed by a sponsor of Luxembourgish nationality or staying legally in Luxembourg, and regarding subsistence costs, medical and study costs for at least 1 academic school year as well as return travel costs, established in the correct legal form (see also the section 'Online services and forms' at the bottom of the page;
      Material advantages granted to the student (such as free accommodation) or the remuneration from a work contract (maximum 15 hours per week), are also taken into account.
      a parental authorisation if the student is under 18;
      a health insurance certificate covering illness in Luxembourg (travel insurance);
      where necessary, a power of attorney.

    Do we need to apply for a type d Schengen visa after temporary authorization?

    • @nuelonyedikaokpala
      @nuelonyedikaokpala  Před měsícem

      This is standard; temporary authorisation to stay is not a visa or travel document. It only authorises you to apply for visa D for long-term residence purposes for those going to study or to work. Hence, after your temporary authorisation to stay is approved, you MUST apply for a visa D. You can only travel somewhere with a visa. A temporary authorisation to stay letter does not replace a VISA. Please visit the Immigration Directorate website for more information.

      1. PhD application can be made via two routes: (a) as a fee-paying student ( which is cheap anyway) and (b) based on advertised PhD positions where you will be paid as an employee of the university, usually between 38-40,000 Euro per year. Check my channel for videos on PhD applications at the University of Luxembourg; also, check the link below for more information.

      THE UNIVERSITY OF LUXEMBOURG PHD APPLICATION GUIDE
      czcams.com/video/hjzJn_l7BMY/video.html
      2. You can apply for as many masters as you want; it's your choice. However, make sure you are applying for masters that are related to your previous studies; the University of Luxembourg is particular about this.
      Kind regards
      Nuel

      (1) 1. You need to be patient; processing time may range from days to weeks. It is an ongoing process until the end of the application period. They may get back to you soon. Remember, this is a busy period for the university, too, with many applicants. (2) Although students legally residing in Luxembourg may bring their dependents, you MUST meet that requirement. Please contact the Immigration Directorate Luxembourg for more information, and you can also check my channel for a video on the process.
      (3) If you are applying for a master's degree programme after you have secured admission, you must apply for the diploma (bachelor certificate) to be registered in the higher education section of the register of certificates kept by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research in Luxembourg.
      You can check out my channel for a video on this.

      You should be responsible for not understanding how to make your application and don't blame the university. The application steps are clearly outlined on their website. You use the word Yeye simply because you have an issue uploading your documents; how does that have anything to do with the university's standards? For your information, the University of Luxembourg is one of the top universities in the European Union, and up to 9 persons who are my subscribers have already been admitted within this 2024 academic session alone, at least those who informed me. So, if you had some issues uploading your documents, you should check if you did the right thing, and if it is a technical issue, then contact the university, not making such a comment that obviously has nothing to do with the standard of education of the university. Let us situate things properly and avoid making a sweeping generalisation that may be misleading. I hope you'll be able to fix the issue and upload your documents. Bless. Nuel.

      Hello good afternoon top of the notch videos. Really grateful 🙏 for your videos and time. Please I have 1 question, and one question only, thank you as you assist.
      the insurance section in my application asked some details which threw me off balance and I was totally confused 🥲; I need to know what exactly they require so I don’t get bounced:
      Here is what they said in the insurance section, ”Provide a valid European health insurance OR a provisional replacement certificate of European health insurance card, OR a health insurance certificate indicating an expiry date”. Now I can see the emphasis seems to be European and not even Luxembourgian health insurance, how do I go about this since am not in Europe or Luxembourg but primarily the last phrase in the write up is my main huddle or issue, which is …“, or a health insurance indicating an expiry date”
      Does that mean any insurance indicating an expiry date, that is any insurance with an expiry date is acceptable, because there’s a health insurance policy for people traveling , which you pay for in Nigeria that covers health and is cheap, so I don’t know if this counts?
      Cos in the first breath of the write up, they emphasized a lot on European insurance, and then the “,or Health Insurance Certificate Indicating an expiry date “following the earlier phrase is spinning my brain in different direction and giving me a lot of ideas , or method to go about it and am not sure if it’s correct and I don’t want to do something wrong and mess my admission.
