It took a while but stage 5 hit about a month ago. I was on and off for about 6 months up to lightfall, then got completely burnt out through raid race day 1 and trials card after trials card. Was frustrated with the meta and struggled with playing to win vs just playing with what I enjoy and what’s fun to me, ended up taking a break till a lil bit ago. But this video is exactly right, it is what it is. And now that I don’t care, pvp is a lot more fun to me. Got to max rank this season purely on centrifuse because the arc explosions give me seratonin, and honestly haven’t had that much fun in pvp in a while. After grinding a lot of trials and hitting the 1K flawless milestone, I started to think more about the fun of the game and care less about losing , before I would usually be annoyed losing matches but I personally just don’t care as much anymore lol. You definitely are accurate with that morality part for sure, alot of these guys have that superiority complex because they run morality lol.

Stage 5 should keep in mind - that whoever you encounter, like a stage 4 sweat is also on his way to achieve stage 5, everyone progresses differently.
I remember starting to play this game and jumping straight into comp solo. Dying over and over again to not forgotten. This sent me on a mission to get the gun myself. I remember playing gambit to get the genesis explosive payload trust, grinding some more to hit fabled for lunas howl. It took awhile but after a few weeks i finally hit legend and got my not forgotten. Season of the drifter was a hell of a time. Sparebender meta is when i enjoyed the game the most even though im better now than i was then. Minus Revoker and erentil that meta was amazing.

What a perfect description. Before I began watching I was just waiting for the relationship to be shown between cheese, 'moral loadouts', and meta slaves.
In this current meta, i think there's a pretty tight link between cheese and meta slaving tbh. All the cheesiest exotics - hoarfrost, antaeus, PKs, synthos (less so than others, but still) etc exotics are all on titan. Weapons are another matter, but with sbmm the lower classical cheese loadouts like jotunn have fallen off the map.
Maybe that's why (imo) this current meta is so intolerable. The class that gets the easiest OSs, best kit, and cheesiest exotics are one and the same. The cheese lords half the time are running the exact same thing the slaves are - immortal + cloudstrike/neomuna fusion or alternatively hoarfrost + targeted redaction
Also, imo transcendent players don't really exist in this day and age (at least at the highest levels of sbmm and trials). During endless vale, I slaughtered using a gnawing hunger but this was while 2 stacking. If I was 3 stacking there's no way I'd use that. No top tier player is gonna be using a lightweight pulse in comp for example. Even the very best of the best trials players pretty much never use goofy loadouts in comp and trials.
I think where we see transcendent players, is in 6v6 modes really. These are the players who don't feel the need to crutch the meta slave loadouts in situations where winning isn't nearly as important.
Also, how are we defining a transcendent player's loadout. A 120 or 140, for example, would potentially fall under both the moral category and the transcendent category (considering an immortal or 340 is always more optimal).
I'd say the transcendent player uses a mix of good weapons and fun weapons, depending on the situation and their mood. They play strictly for fun and just use whatever works for the moment. Someone that comes to mind is Wallah for example
def feel like im trying to transcend now. gave up on the meta and found success using things i use to love like 120 handcannons which i went ascendant with, and other things as well. I also put the stompees down to try things like speedloader sand frostees and i cant take speedloaders off now they are so fun and rewarding. i still get mad sometimes tho trying to do better there xD.

I tried so hard to go from 4-5 and just fell further into the 4 mentality. Ngl stepping back from the game for a bit and coming back I realized I had gotten to 5.
I'd say I've got the skillset of a stage 1, the patience of a stage 5, and the mind of a stage 2 as I use Jotunn and Celestial Nighthawk just to 1 shot Titan bubbles.
Transcended, now I only use igneous + conditional and warlock

i've been playing top tree since the started 2020 first i only used snipers until beyond light then just handcannons and flying in the air without heat rises after they brought ae and the invis meta i quit destiny 2 then for the last 8 months i used either handcannons or no time if needed but a few days ago i decided to try heat rises after long time and i must say if used correctly it's the one of strongest abilities in destiny 2. i wish i still had no knowledge about this game like in 2020 when i started and just enjoyed the game and i still enjoy it just way less. if haven't used meta weapon much besides to try them for a few games but im slowly becoming a no time to explain main... all thanks to this one striker titan with pk's adept immortal smg in control croutch shooting while i tryed to using my dire promise with nearly have 8k kills in 3 years and this guy had 6500 kills on the immortal smg in under 2 months after getting defeated by this titan and getting tbagged for 2 matches by him i decided to put on my no time to defeat him this time he didn't like my no time to explain that much and i guess since then i've been playing with it. i miss the pre beyond light days 😢
I've been stuck at the morality loadout stage.
I'm somewhere between morality and meta-slave. Far from transcendence but use weapons on the more powerful side while not being pure meta/cheese. Not anti-meta but close

It seems I am at stage 3 and I’ll probably never progress lol. I insisted on running double primary, no fusion, no invis, and no titans. Since stompee is nerfed I have been playing voidlock this season without too much success but doesn’t matter lol
Im not very good at Pvp but I consider myself better than I was last season I’ve been dipping my toes into trials to try to go flawless (never went) with the recent changes to trials it gave me some confidence into think it’s possible I started using yas I thought that’s what good played a private match with a friend who was using barkis immortal came out and arc titans everywhere and getting my ass handed to me in private matches by friends I decide to try barkis haven’t taken it off since by far my favorite exotic for PvP. Been finding success with it in counter the arc titans.
you will get there bro just practice with purpose and watch a lot of yt pvp vids and analyze what they do and why. try and guess their next play, if its different from what you would have done, and u realize ur first choice wouldve gotten u killed/made u miss an opportunity or whatever, then remember that! i started caring ab pvp after witch queen and ive been ascendant every season since it came out now and have been 2kd+ stacks while carrying even

I have recently entered stage 4. I don't use immortal tho. I'm much cheesier. I use anteus and fusion. I'm not even a titan main but I can't stand the shit anymore. I'm not good enough nor do I have the practice time to be the so called "trancendant" player. Im sick of flawless being such an uber rare fucking achievement for me. I just want some damn adept weapons. I'll Come off it if the game ever gets balanced again but titans are just overwhelming right now. You can only be a morality gamer for so long before this game just crushes your spirit.
As a PvE player, I've never had fun in crucible ;-; at least in D2 specifically because before D2 I was obsessed to Titanfall 2's PvP and it's the most fun I've ever had in a PvP mode but it died and no other game has made me feel happy PvP-wise since then so, congrats to everyone who has achieved stage 5!

I have regressed in stages as my play time and interest in the game declined.
I'd say I'm currently about stage 2 with the occasional match where I play like an absolute god.

@@Memebahton the only thing on this list that I’d say is straight cheese is anteus wards and knockout, yes bubble is oppressive in trials and fortress but it’s not because the super is cracked like dawn blade or strand hunter it’s because bungie won’t nerf the damage needed to break it, void over shield is OP in PVP??? Are you kidding me you know how many people done slid THROUGH my shield as the animation is going off and just shotgunned me? Like come on now ya can’t be serious lol
@@Memebahton hunter by far is the best pvp class and warlock and titans are fighting for second I just personally feel like warlocks have it better because I see icarus dash and think “I want that” I see ophidian and think “I want that” I see hunters and just wish they didn’t exist altogether
D2 isnt as great as everyone implies it is, mediocre pvm and the most digshit, unbalanced pvp in the history of gaming. The "pvp" team cant even get BASIC pvp shit correctly. The only time morality comes into play is whether or not you're a cheater, other than that, it doesnt matter.
