I agree with so much of what you had to say as an American. We have to walk away to find peace, even if that means not knowing everything going on. We are so much better off. Turned me into the Black Sheep because I could see through all the rubbish the govt does, including Hollywood.

Yeah me too. There's only so much we can control, and we can't control anything that's on the news. We can impact our immediate community, that's where the real change lies.

For the last five months I've swopped out olive oil for High Oleic Sunflower Oil because the price of olive oil has quadrupled. I noticed Ophelia’s Soapery has done the same. Although using Sunflower Oil can slightly shorted the shelf life of soap I have to say I love it, the base stays almost white and continues after sap, it has cut my TD use in half maybe more. The soap qualities are exactly the same as is the bar hardness. I'm now thinking if I would ever return to olive oil at all. Here in the UK 5 litres of High Oleic Sunflower Oil is selling at £20 while 5 litres of olive oil pomace is £30 and straight up olive oil is £70.

I already use sunflower oil in mine and don't like the finished bars with only sunflower, palm, and coconut because the lather isn't as good. The pomace oil is working out nicely so far, so I'll stick with that. It's not a lot of difference in price overall, and the assessment doesn't need to be changed! I only pay £30 for 15L of sunflower oil. And straight olive oil is £42.99 per 5L. It used to be £19.99. Crazy isn't it!

Yep Soap kitchen is shocking. To post a 50ml Oud FO to N.Ireland they wanted £17!!!!! Rip off'!!! I need to find a new Oud FO. Any suggestions please Tiggi as to who makes a decent one? We're so disadvantaged generally with postage charges to N.Ireland.

I don't have an oud suggestion. Scent Perfique has a huge selection and Candle Shack, but I'm not sure about oud scents other than Rose & Velvet Oud.
