Glad I watched this. I've had my Bach for over 30 years and it's fine. I bought set of HEVS for it from the Kickstarter and they arrived a month ago. I haven't put them in yet. I appreciate having a heads-up in case I run into these problems. Did you have a recommended grease? I'm now thinking about getting a Mod kit too. These "user installed mods" are good things to have.
I love my HEVS. Make a big difference. Even reduce the valve noise with brass valve guides.

a little dab of any grease, cork grease fine...just a dab.
You might not have any trouble threading them. My horn is old and they went right in.
