- We visit the hustle and bustle of the famous Desforges street in Port Louis Mauritius. We started with a great meal at the Pakistan Hotel and then hit the streets to discover all it has to offer. The side streets have some interesting structures to explore, but it's the main road where it all happens. With loads of shopping for clothes, homeware, shoes, and of course tons of street food. A permanent market has taken over one of the streets, where you can find almost everything you need. We explored some of the old buildings including a semi-abandoned mall that was probably truly grand in its day and a quick stop off at an interesting art gallery. The street might seem like chaos, but everyone was so friendly and helpful. Day or night, this is a must-visit area.

You reminded me when I was in my lunch time in Mauritius.
I used to walk exactly the same way for foods(Bere) and drinks(Alouda carnations).
Don’t know who advises you, but you went in depth of Port Louis.
Great video and great memories.

No way! That is cool, thanks
Really awesome video: I really learned that the hustle and bustle of city life like in PL, RH, QB, Curepipe is the most authentic depiction of what Mauritius is all about
6:25 - I think some traditional shutters are probably made of wood then nailed with aluminum sheet. Personally, I dunno much
8:00 - The dholl puri prices 13 or 14 are the same coz the 13 are a tad smaller than standard size
28:05 - you've got that right... at dusk or crack of dawn you can fully enjoy the capital with that nice oceanic breeze
Thank you so much for the great comment, They have started sell dholl puri at Rs 17 now at some place
Beautiful video with great people

Une belle visite originale de Port Louis ! Merci
Thank you so much
Great video. The Street has been renamed Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam after the first Prime Minister of Mauritius whose house used to stand at the top of town, but most people continue to call it Desforges Street.
Yes, thanks for the info
Again an amazing interesting video. Like from me.
Thanks again! Glad you enjoyed it
the 13rs dholl puri and roti is one of the best in portlouis. like literally
Great to hear, and cheap
Hi Bryan and Riki, Top video. In HD too! Sharp and clear. Love the old parts of Port Louis. Maybe one day you will check out Marie Reine de La Paix, Citadelle Port Louis, the old Bridge Grande Riviere Nord Ouest and the fort nearby, Gare Victoria and old railway headquarters, Vacoas La Caverne, La Ferme. And thanks for the memories.
Thanks. Yes, we still have so much to visit
@@BryanDiscoversWorld It is not that simple to make those videos. I love the ones which look like short docos. You could try hiring out the ones where you visit small localities and parks to the Mauritian Broadcasting Company. I think they evoke lots of atmosphere.
@@artyfhartie2269 Wow, thank you so much for the great comment, I will send MBC an email and see.
@@BryanDiscoversWorld Give it a go. If they are not interested, you lose nothing. If they are, do not sign off your copyright.
