    Great list and video!
    My current most used small keychain/pocket lights are the Lumintop EDC01, and the Rovyvon Auroa A8 and E3 Angel Eyes. The E3 is easily my favorite due to 1) size, 2) "dual fuel" with a USB-C rechargeable LiPo and traditional AAA, 3) aesthetics and form factor, and 4) functionality with the various output modes

    RovyVon Aurora A8 (warm/UV/Red) on all keychains. They are all holding up fine and the ridiculous magnetic clip means I can stick my keys to the fridge or wherever. My house+Jeep keys have the E8AngelEyes.
    I moved all my free olight i1r (of various varieties) that I have to be zipperpulls on my coats and jackets because they are far more durable and unnecessary backup backups to my EDC.
    GF loves the imini2 for keychains
    I'll have to check out that EDC01, I like the options it presents.

    For family members not into this stuff, I get them a Nitecore Tube… $12, lots of bright colors, size and weight of a key, usb changing and dead simple UI. For myself, I always choose something with a clip that points the light down when clipped to shirt or waistband. That’s my favorite approach for hands-free use.

    My favorite in this size is the Mass drop brass AAA made by lumintop.
    It's not fancy ultra bright or even very cheap so I wouldn't expect it to make your list, but it's my favorite pocket light and it's been in my pocket every single day for 2 years at this point.
    If it ever needs replacing I hope I can get another, I just may have to buy a spare to keep on hand.

    I just got the Lumintop EDC01 and I thought it's a little hard to turn one handed. In addition to being awkward for me to control, it was causing me to accidentally advance it from low to high. So I removed the O ring and I like it way more that way! Turns super easy now. I know it's not as water resistant, but I can live with that. More worried it might cause a problem with the threading, but it was bugging me too much with that O ring.

    Olight is a great marketing company selling good to very good product. Reminds me of Bose, or Beats. Never would feel ripped off at sale price, never would feel like I got what I paid for at MSRP. As for their keychains, the I3E eos is best as you can put it on, twist slightly back, and then you can just press slightly on the head and have a momentary light without having to do a twist while carrying groceries, etc. Much easier to single hand it.

  • @OnusBones
    @OnusBones Před 7 měsíci +1

    Nice look. I've tried quite a few of those, except for the AA Lumintop you showed; I do have their Tool AA, which is a good one.
    The Olight i3e is a real disappointment though, as it will only take 1.5V AAA; it will not run on a 1.2V rechargeable. To get that, you have to get the i3T, which isn't one of their giveaway items. On some of the little ones (but not Olight), the battery is a replaceable 10180. I have a couple of the Rovyvon knockoffs; they're fine, but just like the Rovyvon, are for collecting only, due to their non-replaceable batteries.
    The imini2 does live on my keychain as a backup. The original imini was a sad joke, with its 3xLR41 cells. It was tiny, but way too big a pain to keep powered.

    • @maxlvledc
      @maxlvledc  Před 7 měsíci

      oh boy...in the country you need a variety of different functions. Headlamps should be fine at around 500LM or lower for top end, go with larger batteries if more runtime is needed.
      A thrower is key, as you can reach out at long distances 500-1000lm, but with 100,000 CD or higher
      Right angle flashlights (aka) headlamps can do a lot of what you need then supplement from there.
