Managed to follow the series from start to finish and I have to say there's something really brilliant about this game. I know this is supposed to be a solo project that started as a learning journey through unreal/blender but if you are opening the floor up for collaborations/contribtions to the project I believe there's so much potential. Apart from everything you mentioned in this video the game can blow up by minor features that increase the (re)playability of the game. e.g. Coins or stars per level (max 3-5) in tricky locations that you have to nail in order to get. These can serve us unlockables for new cars/smoke fx/paintjobs etc. You could even divide the levels in themed "worlds" like you start on the island, move to a cityscape, then mountains the possibilities are endless. Very cool job, great effort even through uncharted teritories!
Nice video, I love where the game's headed. I'm glad to see that you react to feedback accordingly. Once you're looking towards adding a new map, it would be interesting to see a more grounded Trackmania-like racing map unlike the current stunt map, in which you'd try to gain as much momentum and keep it going throughout the track. I think that at least one map like that might fix the problem of some players struggling too much and leaving before achieving anything at all. Also, I'm sure madpie24 would absolutely nail such a map haha

I have one UI improvement to suggest: where you have radio inputs such as those on the graphics settings, the unselected options are fully opaque and the selected option is transparent. I think it would make more sense to invert this behavior so that unselected options don't grab the user's attention as much and selected options stand out better.
Of course TM players would do crazy things, that community will do anything to gain 0.02s And I love them for that

I would personally recommend u to watch the 5 movies from the Hot Wheels Hot Wheels Highway 35 | Hot wheels acceleracers 1 to 4 (1 is Ignition, 2 is Speed of Silence, 3 is Breaking point, and 4 is Ultimate Race) Your game have all the vides from those movies so im 1000000% sure u'll gather a lot of ideas for upcoming updates, from tracks, cars, and concepts. Eventually adding a track builder like Trackmania (Another game u can take ideas) Would be amazing. Keep going im loving this
I like this idea! The map design is reminiscent of GTA, which is fantastic. However, I do feel that the tracks could use a bit of widening and some more opportunities for longer drifting. The current setup feels a bit too restricted and limited. I wanna be able to spin and go crazy with the car and do some cool stuff. For an added touch of wildness, implementing a gear-changing mechanic would be a cool addition to the gameplay aswell. If you wanna be wackier add multiplayer. Really cool content I hope you keep making games in the future!

I don't play many racing games, but I downloaded and gave yours a shot. Was a bit difficult to get the hang of, but once I did I think I would have done pretty well in the contest with my time of just under 25 minutes. Edit: New best of 4:29
Great project! It would be cool if you could program cars that behave like the Rocket League cars. So, jump and double jump, boost to be able to fly with it and fully controllable in the air. And then of course a course that fully exploits the possibilities of the RL cars, similar to the workshop projects of RL.
Really fun! Im a speedrunner at heart and I managed to get 2:35:317 as a regular time. I decided to try speedrun strats on the new 1.2 version like checkpoint skipping and made a route that got 1:35:257. Looking forward to more maps and new challenges!
Idea: You should add different cars, based on different IRL cars. FOR EXAMPLE, the only car in the game ATM is the Hyundai N Vision 74, but you could add other cars!
It would be cool if you could determine when someone does different tricks and then take time off. So for example if they do a kick flip = - 5s, 360 = -10s etc.
@@Hazardous I wasnt explictly saying a car game just any map you want but if its only car / racing games you want to do then maybe fortnite's unreal editor is probably not for you
i have a potato pc, and the game runs perfect when on all low settings, except for when i turn my camera to the island, all the meshes and textures for the island cause my game to lag out like crazy, probably around 2fps. would be amazing to have an option to not have the island render at all, maybe even have the meshes not load either. would really help for people like me who do not have a "gaming pc". great video nontheless
I think I heard you mention in a previous video that you uploaded 2 version, one night and one day? I'm pretty experienced with UE and I have worked a bunch with UDS, (even doing some cool things like setting the time of day and weather to real life time of day and current weather based on the players location. I was just wondering why instead of releasing 2 builds for day a night, why not just have a day or night selection on the menu and then just set the UDS time of day on level pre load. That way you only need to release the one single build. You can even set it to random time of day and random weather every time the level loads. A car customization menu would be sick too to allow players to change various colors of the car model. They are pretty easy to make with a GUI and dynamic materials. Overall a very sick looking game though!

I wasn't suprised when I heard that this guy is a Trackmania player, you can clearly see some Trackmania strats throughout the run. For example: 2:20
2:39 is even more obvious, tilting the car to land faster is such a trackmania thing to do.
