Man, I'm just now realizing how much Theo has grown. I think he has been holding on to his hair for me, because he knew I loved it. Now that I think back, he's always been a person that likes organization and does not like clutter. He is very clean cut in every way except his hair. Doing his hair has been our way to bond until now. This is a new chapter in our relationship and I'm excited to see what is on the other side

The psychology behind this video is so liberating .

Why did I cry? Idk. Theo’s handsomeness shows much more.

Manilla I asked myself the same question! So beautiful.
I know. I cried too 😭😭. But the cut brought out his handsomeness more.

Omg Theo in duragssss😭 I’m so excited
It’s so crazy to me how Theo was so nervous and almost scared of his mother’s reaction to his hair because he knew how much the hair meant to her and I can tell he didn’t want to disappoint her kids are the smartest little people on earth I’m so happy that when Theo didn’t want his hair long anymore his loving parents actually let him decide not everyone has understanding parents like this 🙏🏼🙏🏼♥️♥️
Anxiety was killing the little girl she wanted to see his head so bad 😭😭
She was so shocked!!😲

I don’t know what it is but when Theo said “hello” on the phone call, I cried. It was just such a warm hello to his mom and he sounded so full of joy and life. Never lose that joy Theo!! ♥️♥️♥️
simplyxrana You were not alone. The joy in his voice while talking to his mom almost made my heart burst. It was a super sweet moment.
😔😔😔🥺🥺😣😣😩😩😩🤧🤧
Children are impressionable, we have to handle them with care. When I think of all the children who don't have an environment such as this, it makes me sad. Mentally stable parents are needed.
My son is 19 and he wanted to dye his hair in high school and I was like no way.. Well he went for it and did it himself about 6 weeks ago and it looked nice, I just had to adjust to the change. Now his hair is growing out and it looks like highlights and he looks so amazing. He is tall, Intelligent , handsome and most of all my son. My one and only son and child. I love you guys.
Makes sense, he's an adult and that's such a small thing to ask a parent support for. If it makes him happy and confident then I'm not sure why you'd ever say no in the first place. Even if he ended up regretting it, it's one of those harmless lessons everyone goes through experimenting with their image..
He’s so handsome as he always has been but his confidence in himself and his decision is beautiful and remarkable! I love your parenting style because I grew up in an era where you get what your parents give you and you can’t make decisions like this until you’re an adult, which is brainwashing and suppressing individuality! Love you guys!!
@Jasamine Me too... I say my parents did the best that they know how... IGNORANCE is what I call it... no bitterness... no abuse at all... my childhood made me so strong... I have learned what doesn't break u... will make you strong 🙌 I appreciate it 🤗
@@deniserutherford9250 not ignorance parents only give what they have learned just limitations and they pass it down most parents don't know how to be parents they learn just as we do and he is an adorable little boy
Same. My kids have always been given ownership over their hair and clothing choices. It's hard for me to accept at times but they are truly individuals. School pictures and church have dress codes. I haven't been able to let go yet. Somehow my youngest still manages to bring home pictures that make me want to scream but he's never had retakes lol
@@janderson947 you just described ignorance...when you don't know something. Ignorance is not an insult or a bad word.

This made me cry on so many levels. You guys are so beautiful as a family. Your children, the messages you are teaching not only them but us, are beautiful. So many things we struggle with today as adults you guys are teaching your beautiful children daily. I’m new here and I’m glad I find y’all. Thank you for setting a great example of a black family.
Just found your channel because of baby Uzi. Sometimes you guys literally make me tear up, you’re not pretending to be the perfect family or father/mother, you’re capturing moments of life that can never be brought again, the way you analyze your parenting, and try to improve, how you look back on things (on other vids) etc, without forgetting to add a little humor and fun is amazing. + The amount of love is beautiful. I’m still young, but I dream of having a family like that. Greetings from France 🇫🇷
How big her smile was when she saw him😭 I was in tears.
Jenifer Deus i cant lie i did too at that same part ❤️ so cute
When he ran to her because he was accepted! 😍
That head rub when he jumped on the couch 😢❤
Same! So many things not said, but expressed in this scene
Jenifer Deus serious tears were shed not gonna lie
It's so interesting that the attachment to hair is always everyone else and not the person that is making the change. I remember when I cut my dreads shorter that peoples reaction were so dramatic, but for me it's just hair.
soulsista4life That is sooo true!!!
Omg sooo true
its nit just hair. our hair has very strong energy and when you have an attachment to it, it's like you cutting a part of yourself away. I sometimes miss my kids but it took some strong conversing to my parents for them to cut it. 😭 so I can sorta understand why people freak out, but at the end of the day you're right. it's your hair and you should be able to do what you want to it whenever you want
iTs JuSt HaIr
I respect his decision but when you took care of the hair and nourished it for all there's lives you bet your bottom dollar there will be an attachment.
This is truly #Emmy worthy! I'm just so moved by this Black husband's affections for this family. This is the greatest thing I've seen. Thank you beleaf
All he wanted was acceptance, especially from mom and he got it ten fold! 🥰🥰🥰. You can tell by how he went straight to her and put his head on her lap like "Do you still love me?" Awww! He stayed next to her the entire time and her hugs him and rubbing his head while smiling conveys that deep love she has for him and his happiness. I love this family!
I feel like this should have been presented at the Cannes film festival
Oh that's a bomb idea 👍🏿
Yes as a short film entry!
I love how Anaya is like slapping her Mom’s arm because she can’t take the suspense 😂😅 she was like would you hurry up my goodness...... also Theo looks very handsome hopefully he is enjoying this new look ✨✨
That's what I said and he's happy so 🤷🏾♀️
Alexus Reid she's been here before!!
Right, she has so much personality haha
She's too cute love her🥰
IKR? She is like a little momma! I love seeing her personality 😍💕
This video really affected me. I wasnt expecting it to. It reminded me of a time when I was experimenting with hair styles and everywhere I went everyone complimented me on my new hair style but when I went to a family gathering my parents wouldnt talk to me. They pretended not to know me and act as if I wasnt even there. They refused to speak to me. Other family members talked badly about me for showing up with my hair that way. They stared at me with angry faces. My grandmother was the only person there who treated me the same. I left the gathering not long after showing up. Their level of rejection was too much for me to handle. I am so happy your family and son has had a better experience!
Yes that's an experience for younger to older people. No matter what we decide to do with our hair....people will always have something to say with their eyes or their mouths. We just have to learn to love and do with our hair what we like and be confident in it. We as humans like approval on things we change in our lives or on ourselves... but eventually we just have to get to a point where we don't care how people think we should look or have their approval..... as long as it's not too out of control looking. I'm saying not too out of control because when we are on someones job or we have a certain clientel they will not take us serious if we don't look the part. We have to love ourselves first in order to accept the changes we make on the outside and to be able to ignore the ignorant responses or attention when we decide to make these changes on the outside sometimes even on the inside. Negative Nancy or Karen never wants to see anyone, no one ,nobody, anybody happy.😊
Sometimes we know how shallow people can be even love ones... But your granny showed you unconditional love at that moment...
I'm so sorry that happened to you. As parents, we must guide our children while allowing them to grow into the person God created them to be. Easier said than done, I know. Finding balance in life is most times challenging for us, but that is why we seek the Lord for wisdom and instruction. God bless.🙏
I'm so sorry you had ti experience that kind of pain from your own family. Continue to experiment in your journey called life!!! Peace and Blessings!🥰
How painful. They might have done irreparable damage to the relationship. Conditional love is not love
Had me crying!!!! I just wanted to jump through the screen and hug and kiss his sweet head. Growing up is hard and when we lose control over those little things it’s emotional for us as parents. Theo looks so handsome!! Love your sweet family ❤️
The smile on Theo's face after he got his cut was EVERYTHING!
This is exactly what I was going to say... That smile was everything and that's all that matters...
Yes is was. He almost made me cry, his handsome self.
Yes, No mistake

I love the smile on Mama's face, the way he laid his head in her lap and the rubbing of her baby's head to comfort him. U could feel the love and see it in action. I wish all parents had this level of unconditional love for their kids😟. 🙏🏿 that we as a community learn how to do this. Beautiful representation of how God loves us🤗
I almost started crying with joy at the end as he realized his awesome beauty. He is so very handsome.
Riah “You know who I think he looks like? Grandpa.”
Theo “😑You know who you look like? 😒” 😂😂😂 Siblings are ready in season and out of season to roast each other!

So funny because I KNOW those moments!
Chastin Kornegay lmbo okkkkk he thought about it like.... Imma let you slide THIS time

Tbh I think he does resemble his grandfather with the new haircut. The genes of Yvettes family are very strong in Theo.
Don't know how riah meant it though 😂
Aww! He was looking in the mirror like he was so proud of himself and that he felt he made the right choice. That's such a good feeling 😊
literally one of the most beautiful families i've ever seen. what a sweet story, i'm so glad this was documented. Theo is a young King!
This makes me so emotional and I started crying as soon as he ran to his mother. The look of love and the feeling of acceptance coming from her exuded through the screen. I realized just how fortunate your children are to have parents who allow them to be themselves and love them and reaffirm the absolute wonderfulness of them. Can't wait for them to realize that too, amazing job Mom and Dad!
The shape of his head is soo cute, he’s even more adorable now !

I just love his beautiful dark eyes and big smile
It’s amazing how our children can sometimes teach us so much about ourselves and life, and we wouldn’t have learned it any other way.
So handsome. I don’t think it was about the loss of the hair for mom, she felt the pain of him becoming a big boy, just like all mothers feel when our kids make their own decisions. He also caught the image of himself growing up right before everyone’s eyes.
The haircut slenderizes his face and brings out his features.
He's a handsome kid.
I can really see Theo's face now!!!! HE'S ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS. Those expressive eyes. 😁🤗🥰😭😭😭
This is exactly what I was thinking. We can really see his features. Such a handsome boy.
We need more families like this one, in ALL colors.
He's so cute with or without the dreads!!!
When Aniyah (sorry if I spelled her name wrong.) told Theo his hair was beautiful I melted. LOVE this family 🥰🥰🥰 (5:57)

Theo, you look so handsome, I see your black boy joy shinning through. Let it glow little one!
I love it! His cute face and his front teeth growing in reminds me of my grandson. We are estranged for this moment and seeing your son has made me realize how much pain I’m in by not seeing him or his 3 sisters. They live 5 minutes away which makes it hard. Please pray God will soften the parents hearts so we all can be reunited.
I sincerely hope you've been reunited by now. God's bless
Prayers and blessings. I said a quick prayer.
I can feel your pain, sister, and I’m with you. My daughter won’t let me see my grandchildren now either. My therapist tells me that this is not uncommon for the kids of millennials, but. It breaks my heart as well.
The sequence of emotions from the little brother, then baby girl, then mom. Just so interestingly amazing 🙂🙂
Wow he really looks like his dad a lot more then before. He is so handsome. Thank you both for sharing your lives with us. Amen
He is adorable he looks so happy.
"Black love and black boy joy in it'd truest form. " 😭♥️ So amazing I seriously Love this channel
Gosh I can’t help but cry in almost every video! I have 5 kids including identical twins, I am 29 yrs old and my last child has a Mexican father. My older 4 have an African American/ Jamaican father & I am Irish and Native American… my son is 10 & now wants dreads. I love the raw insight into your family where I can see the way the children feel and almost teaches me to be a better parent. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!!!!

Stay safe.
Ha ha...that's great...my friend is going to dye hers bright pink- just because! Covid Hair is coming out!😁 I talked about shaving my head but let's be real...I'm too chicken!
@@LadyV7 , you should Do It! This is the perfect time to do something out of the box and there's plenty of time for your hair to grow back.
Why is everybody shaving there head? Im not trying to sound rude im just curious

Did I enjoy this? oh so beautiful. LOVED Yvettes smile so big and loving. This was one of the best Glen. Really brought tears to my eyes. I think the idea of a short documentary as a story and love in the whole family and black beleaf view is very worthy. Really. I can't see mistakes in your fatherhood . Maybe glitches like we all have. Please Glen you are too hard on yourself.
He is waaaayyyyy to hard on himself. So proud of my family. This was so beautiful to watch
His mother’s smile said it all for me. This mama had a few tears seeing the joy in his mamas smile
Best part..... he was admiring himself in the mirror! You let him make a big decision for himself and it looks like he approved by really looking at his new image. That's huge for all of you. They grow up so fast.... good job, he's sweet and cute!
“You’re changing right in front of my face” I felt that as a mama. 😩😭😭😭❤️
Baby girl's emotions were all over until she realized he was the same just looked different. What a beautiful family ❤ TFS ‼😊
Brother.....the story you told, and the way you told it resonated with me in a most prophetic way. This was a powerful display of fatherhood and how a family should be portrayed! And even tho you scalped the little homie(😂)...I’m so glad you were the one to cut his hair! This was inspirational bro 🙌🏾

Adorable! He looks so handsome wow! I understand where your wife is coming from as well. She is used to seeing her baby a certain way and now he is coming into his on sense of self and his own person! I cried not going to lie lol
Mom's can take this so hard & personally if they don't prepare. Even if we don't think we need it, we have to be able to see our children as separate from ourselves. I'm so glad they embrace change as a family unit. Not just external but internally too. External change is inevitable. Internal change is a divine choice.
Tash Moore absolutely! My daughter is changing right before my eyes and it’s so different and definitely hard but beautiful to see. I know that it’s what happens in life and trusting myself to know I am doing a great job raising an intelligent, self loving little lady is amazing to see.
Beautiful boy. Beautiful children. Beautiful family. There is nothing more inspiring than seeing a father who is engaged and totally immersed into his children and family. Congrats on making an American dream.

Baby girl's reaction was like who TF is this? 😂😂😂😂😂💋
Love how Mom let him know it was okay to love himself.
First of all I’m not crying you are 😩😩😩 Just knowing that Theo was a lil nervous showing his family his new hair cut did it for me. Such a sweet moment.
I remember when my daughter was six years old and the arguments to not wear dresses anymore got so bad, my friend said let her be who she wants to be, so we bought her a pair of overalls and that’s how she took her school picture. Needless to say she grew up to be trans and I’m glad I let her be who she wanted to be
And I totally cried again lol. This moment was so beautiful. Everyone affirming Theo is just the best thing. How wonderful for this black boy to be supported and loved so openly. This is why I love this channel. Black love is amazing ❤
