I do a TON of shopping for soap supplies online and eBates lets you get rebates at nearly every major online retailer, including Amazon, eBay, and Etsy. I literally save money just by opening up a tab in my browser via their link. I have already received a check from them within the first month so I just thought I would let you guys know about this since we soap makers and DIYers buy so much online! Plus, it's free! Yippee! :D

A rainbow fish soap would probably be pretty..
All of the iridescent glitter!
I love this idea!!
I totally agree!!! One of my favorite childhood books!
I loved rainbow fish! In fact my childhood bathroom was that as a theme, that soap design would’ve fit perfectly
Jen Craig omg yessss
You are SO SWEET! It was nice meeting you at VidCon too. n_n
If we're both there next year, we should definitely hang out.
Love you Echo!
My worlds are colliding. ❤️🖤
Love your channel also, Echo!
Omg so if you're doing books, you HAVE to do a "Rainbow Fish" soap!!! Please please please!
that would be sooo cool!
So happy to see that so many people agree!
I also agree! But they made the soaps like two months ago so we just have to wait and see if they did it or not 😂
The Lorax would make a good soap, all those fluffy trees=all that fluffy soap frosting
Josephine oh my gosh yes!! With “Thneeds” as the embeds on top!
I wonder how a grass/fur tip would do with soap piping 😂
Can Kenny please make an avatar the last airbender soap he could do all the elements and then lava and like metal soap
Cutelesc Cutesicle yes that would be awesome
Cutelesc Cutesicle been asking for an element soap for months
My daughter is named for the water bender from avatar the last airbender
@@flappidyflipper5092 oh wow didnt know

Hey Katie! I have some video ideas, how about you do a behind the scenes video? Like the aftermath. For example: cleaning the containers you use, a room tour, your collection of fragances, micas, etc. Some other ideas might be doing a dedicated Q&A video about soap making, like when is it ok to have contact with the batter? since lye is pretty dangerous (I assume it's at emulsion, but I might be wrong); if any type of stick blender is ok for soap making (like plastic wands), or even a video of do's and dont's showing the common errors begginers often came across, like what do you do with soap that hardened too fast and can't be used in the original soap art, what type of embeds can and can't be added to a soap, whats can you do if you don't let soap cure for the recommended time, etc.
I'm not a soap maker but I actually like watching the whole process of products and I really enjoyed your packaging process video, maybe these ideas would help people interested in improving their techniques. I know you answer a lot of questions in your normal videos, but maybe an specific one would be more useful for soap makers and curious people like myself.
Mariana GSA Yes to all this!! Not a soap maker either, but I love learning how people make stuff like this. I’ve had so many questions come to mind about soap making while watching these videos.
I love this idea!
These are great ideas! ☺️ Would happily watch any of these videos 😁
The missus and I would happily watch while we took notes.
Soap making isn't just a craft, it's an art and Katie is definitely one of the best!
Just an fyi, the soap is not safe to touch until approx 24 hours after mixed. Even then if you use the soap, it will dry your skin out pretty good because of the lye. I make some batches just for soap dough and I usually wait about 3 days before I use it to make embeds. You have a lot of really great questions! I think it would be awesome for Katie to do all your suggestions. Especially the clean up. When I started soaping I couldn’t find any videos of the proper way to clean up and I learned the hard way. It would be very helpful to many I’m sure!
I'm sorry you met some people who have gotten big headed. It's too bad, especially since the creator community is small. Really happy to hear Saf and Cristine are cool.
You should do a monochromatic collection. Each soap is a bunch of hues/shades of a same color.
Yes!!!!!! That would be amazing!!
Oh heck yeah
Yass
Oh, great idea!
Omg I need to see an Eric Carl’s “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” soap! Please!!
That could be a whole soap series!
“Because I liked crying if I thought it was romantic” honestly I related to this more than I would like to admit. Cracked me up
Can you please make the rainbow fish soap?
Multiple soap colors arranged in a scale-like pattern, gold Micah line, fish fin imbeds, and an ocean spray scent.

“Jackspeticeye is a really nice guy”
😂 Love you, Katie!
Hearing you talk about the experience with other creators is a little disappointing. You’re such a genuine person, I would hope more people had responded positively to you! We don’t do CZcams or soap making full time (GOALS) but I can easily see how it could be really isolating. If you ever want to talk, the two of us make soap, do CZcams and have young kiddos. Myself (Raven), I have a 4 and 6 year old, so I’ve been through some of the struggles and triumphs of being a mom that you’ve talked about. Sending you many good vibes! You’re doing a great job, you’re a fantastic mom, wife, sister, daughter and I’m sure a amazing friend. Those other CZcamsrs are missing out!!
Hope she sees this (:
Frøya J. Brox Me too! Everyone needs a reminder that they’re amazing!
This is such a nice comment. I wish you luck.
This was just plain heart warming ❤️❤️❤️
KATIE. I have to tell you. A couple of weeks ago, my 14 month old son was feeling sick. Nothing would calm him down. EXCEPT watching soap videos. Thank God there were so many to watch! Your soaps are baby-approved! Lol
My daughter also loves her videos
You aren't messing it up. This is book themed, so you have "Amelia Bedilia"-ed it.
This is great
Ahh that's the best way to word it!
We need more people like Katie on youtube! Also that soap is magnificent :)
Crying isn't a weakness it can be a strength in my opinion. Showing emotions can be scary so thank you for showing your audience that it's okay to cry
"You're not Brad Pitt, I can tell you that!" 😂😂😂
I never plan on making soap but this channel is the best
Ya, I don't make soap and I'm never going to but I still watch all her vids. No other soap videos, just hers
Just Jace Me too lol
I believe you got a notification that I disliked your comment... that was unintentional. I wasn't paying attention to what on the screen my finger was touching
more like RoyalTEA soaps, amirite?
I actually didn't read The Giving Tree until my final year of college as part of a course on children's literature. I definitely think it's a story that has a greater impact the older you get.
I saw this video and was like "oh crap another book I gotta read"
I regret it I cried and cried and cried over 27 pages of giving too much of oneself. I legit do that...
I neeed this soap. When I was little Shel Silverstein came to my school and read this to us. It was the highlight of my childhood and I will never forget it. Yes I'm old. Thank you for doing this.
Katie, CZcams is literily just online high school a lot of the time. But just like high school, with the cliques, there are still friendly people that don't care about who you are! And glad you got to hang out with them! Syfia, Cristine, and Echo are some of my favourite youtubers (along with you of course!).
And for the question of the day, I used to go to school in September, the fourth I think, but I'm moving, and my new school is supposed to start late this month. Well at least I can get to know my classmates before bringing something for my birthday? Haha.
Dear Katie,
Thank you for being your authentic self, and sharing your values and positivity with your audience. We are so lucky to have you.
Best to you always,
A proud subscriber and customer
Hear, hear!!
Any one else still say "Emulsification" with her in your head??
Omg a whole month of book soaps!! Beatrix Potter, Dodie Smith, Eric Carle, the possibilities are ENDLESS!!
Edited to add, my rowdy crew is homeschooled. Our official school year starts in February, we always have a big party celebrating the "new year" and all the new experiences to come.
I love the idea of a subtle, delicate, but somehow still sassy and practical Beatrix Potter soap!
SLYTHERIN INSPIRED SOAP
Eric carle would be AWESOME!!
rhiannon or Hogwarts houses.
When you’re rewatching an old Royalty Soaps video and get a notification for a new one 🙈 I need more hobbies 😂
Corrie Safia omg same
Why is this meee
Same here 😂😂
It'd be pretty cool if you did, If You Give a Mouse a Cookie. For the book month
Mrs. Carson, please do not change. It is very nice to hear a kind and humble person be real about CZcams.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a Princess Bride soap! I love this book so much.
Anne of green gables soap!!
@@jillreverman8120 Yes! This one too! May we please have a book soap every month? This is the only way we will likely get close to getting all these amazing books!
No way! Giving tree was my absolute favorite book ever. I'm gonna get a tattoo one day. I NEED THIS
Oh my goodness, next to Alice in Wonderland this is my favorite book. Getting a tattoo on my thigh of the tree. And one on my back for Alice in wonderland.
@@Sarah_b_curiouser one cool idea would be Alice sitting under the giving tree. Hope you don't mind me suggesting that.
And I've never even heard about it. I guess, I need to read it. I don't like crying though... And books make me cry a lot...
@@Sparrow_J_Dreamer not at all! My Alice tattoo is already designed, but I've definitely thought about including the Cheshire cat's grin into the giving tree's branches. I do like the idea of Alice sitting under the tree like she is in the beginning of the book, though. That would be really cute!
Your comment about not being Brad Pitt if CZcams disappeared is SO wise. We are all humans, be kind. It's really that simple. Love you Katie ❤🇨🇦✌
“I liked crying if I thought it was romantic” is more relatable than I’d like to admit.
Also Katie you’re such a sweet person
Series of unfortunate events?! Eye embeds everywhere! Musky citrus scents and various greys and purples!!!
I really like how you delivered the "tea" without naming names. I wonder if some of the people came off as rude when they are just socially awkward or anxious. I think that many CZcamsrs are great on camera but came to CZcams because it was hard to connect to people in person.
Regardless, I am glad you found some friendly faces in the crowd! :)
Katie: **says "that" blue containie instead of "my" blue containie" **
Me: Yup, that containie is soooo fired ~,~
I used to love this book. Anyone else remember The Babysitters Club and Sweet Valley High books??
YES, I took Early Childhood education in College. I re-read all of them when I worked at a middle school..lol..Got my whole class to read them as well
Those were my jam! I'm old enough to when I'd have to get them monthly as they were being released. Baby-sitter's Club books were my rewards for good grades/chores, etc. My parents got off easy, those things were 4 bucks a pop!
This soap kind of reminded me of the hungry caterpillar book
"Oh, the places you'll go!" Is one of my favorite books. And now I'm thinking about how to make it into a soap.
In Texas it was August. In California and Utah it was September.
Exactly why I follow your channel. Your content is amazing, and your personality is absolutely magnetic. You're amazing.
I love how humble and level headed you are! Definitely an awesome influencer even if you don't see yourself that way.
I would love to watch a 15 minute bloopers reel!
Bring it on Katie!!
Yes!!
My primary stick blender use is for the fancy roasted garlic soup I make. You add bread to thicken it and it’s sooo tasty. You have to blend it for obvious reasons and it’s delicious. 😍
I love this soap! The Giving Tree is a lovely book. I too loved books that made me cry when I was younger. I still do tbh, when I’m in the mood for it haha
Your soup sounds amazingly tasty!!
Your soup sounds so amazing!
Aww thanks! I made the recipe myself!
Roasted Garlic Soup
Ingredients:
like 8 heads of garlic (roasted 4 heads plus ~18 cloves that will be unroasted, and roughly chopped)
3-4 onions, chopped
1 1/2 quarts chicken broth (or veggie broth)
2 cups cream
4~ slices of French bread, chopped
2 T butter
9 sprigs thyme
6 sprigs parsley
1 bay leaf
Salt
Black pepper
Pinch of cayenne pepper
Instructions:
Roast the first 3-4 heads of garlic with olive oil, let cool, and then peel. We did 350ish for 40~ minutes.
Sauté the chopped onions, raw chopped garlic, and roasted garlic in butter and olive oil on medium heat until tender. Then turn down heat and let the onions get nice and golden brown.
Temp up. Deglaze with broth. Add the fresh herbs. I kept them whole. I would recommend tying the thyme together in a bouquet garni, but the parsley will basically break down and it blends nicely so it’s no big. Salt & pepper for the first time here.
Let simmer until you feel the flavor is adequately developed, I left it for like 30 minutes or so, until the little thyme leaves were falling off the sprigs. Add the chopped bread and let that simmer for 15 minutes.
Blend with an immersion blender or in a heat safe blender/food processor.
Strain back into the pan, and add cream, salt, generous amount of black pepper, and add the pinch of cayenne pepper. You don’t want the flavor of that to show up, just the subtle heat that helps clear the sinuses. Bring back up to a simmer, stirring frequently, and then remove from heat.
Serve with croutons or nice bread!
Katie glad you spoke the truth, don't apologise, people looking down on others is wrong, I only knew two names you mentioned. Utube is too big to know everyone. Stay humble and true to yourself
You NEED a podcast. I could listen to you talk all day..loved the soap!
Your experience at the party is saddening. I assume most "celebrities" (even the YT ones) have been tricked and used for fame frequently enough that they have lost their faith in the existence good people. They have no desire to be trusting of new people for fear of being manipulated.
Royalty Soaps, books, and VidCon thoughts? So there! And your eyes are so pretty! This new camera finally does you justice! ❤️ ❤️
The Hungry Catepillar!! That would be a fun soap.
I love this book theme XD
As a librarian, this excites me.
As somebody who also works for a con and has talked to and befriended my fair share of celebrities, the story reminded me of some things they've said. Specifically, the question 'Who are you/What do you do?" in the context of somebody knowing you're somewhat famous. They'll get people who have no idea who they are but have seen their face around and want to take a picture with them and get an autograph - people who aren't actually excited to meet them and don't appreciate their work, but they still want to be able to brag about it later on to people who DO know and appreciate them but have never gotten that opportunity. How they reacted wasn't necessarily in response to Katie so much as jerks and leeches they've had to deal with in the past. Just thought a different perspective might help.
Katie: "Gold Digger Glitter"
Me: "Speaking of Tana"
When she said she almost ran into Tana, I was like “Damn, too bad you didn’t really!” 😈
Very fun! Looking forward to your next reading soap! Glad you liked vidcon, but sorry it was a lot like life...cliques! That's why I love watching and following you! You and your family is authentic and not swayed by some of the nasties in our world. Keep being who you are!
“I love you stinky face” is my favorite book.
My grandma would read me it every time I went to her house as a kid and I loved it because I would go almost every week.
Such a cute soap! My dad used to call this book “the selfish boy” lol!
Shel Siverstien! My favorite poet and author!
Verdi was my favorite book to read to my daughter. I loved that little snake with his sporty stripes.
This was my favorite book as a kid. I'm now 40😊. As most kids do I colored and doodled in my book so my mom tossed the book sometime durning my childhood. A few years ago I was in the book store and saw it on display and I literally started freaking out. I bought it and read it when I got home and I cried like a baby.
Omg if you guys do a Very Hungry Caterpillar with a whole bunch of fruit embeds I’m gonna cry
Omg please do Harry Potter I’ll actually cry
Surprisingly I never read or heard of that book till now ..... Well that's another book to the list I will read to my little toddler. 😊❤️
Mochi Tea two things first, absolutely love your name (had a hedgehog 🦔 named Mochi) Second, another to add to was my favorite as a child The Old Lady Who Swallowed A Fly!!!
It's a fantastic book! For such a short and small book you can teach a lot. About making sure to give back in any sort of relationship, asking people (well, a tree) if they are okay. Respecting nature, etc.
I hadnt heard of it either
I love apple scents! I bought 2 apple candles from the yankee store the other week, one is honeycrisp (which is our state apple and is literally the most delicious thing Minnesota has genetically modified or created since corndogs)
I love honeycrisp apples. One of my absolute favorites.
Please do a layered Harry Potter inspired soap! Also I will totally be buying this because I love apple scents
Everyone wants to be a celebrity, glad you’re normal. I’d talk to you.
The Kissing Hand is one of our favorites. 💜
I award you so many points for trying to be nice and friendly at a party even when others didn't bother!
My grandmother was the giving tree. I have a hard time reading it without breaking out into tears, but the one that gets me every time is Love you forever by Robert Munsch.
In Australia our school year starts end of January/ beginning of Feb 😊
Bookweek is this month though, so it can work 😉
Some other countries that school by callander year include New Zealand (probably an obvious one!), South Korea and Singapore. I am sure there are many more in the southern hemisphere but I am not aware which :)
@@rueivy I'm pretty sure most Southern Hemisphere has the school year on the calendar year. Cause our big summer vacation is in dec, jan, feb. I'm from Brazil, and here we have like a a small 3-4 weeks vacation in July (winter) and that's it. The school year starts in feb or march (depends on carnaval here) and ends in the beginning of december... :-)
OMG PLEASE DO PRIDE AND PREJUDICE OR ANY JANE AUSTIN!!!!! OR HARRY POTTER PLEAAAASEE OMG. lol. I've legit never begged on a video 😭
She did a Pride and Prejudice soap about two years ago!
Harry potter should be it's own theme lol
“I wish I was joking, but I’m really not” Best line ever 🤣🤣
I adored your secret soap series inspired by books of your childhood a few years back and have wanted something like that again! So excited to see the soaps you come up with this month!
This book was my child hood ❤️
The green with the red imbeds are giving me a strong CACTUS/SUCCULENT vibe I am kind of new to the channel so excuse me if this has already been done... Would love to see your take on that!!
1. I have an 18m old. When he was about 9m I somehow forgot the ending of The Giving Tree and decided to read it to him. I was a ball of snot bubbles and tears by the end of it and my son is looking at me like I’ve lost my mind. I will be buying this soap - and yes, I will continue to read it to him and cry.
2. I’m from LA and unfortunately your experience is not isolated to that party. I dread going to any social events because of the personality types you described. I’m glad you were able to find some good and enjoy yourself. I wish there were more people like your family here. You’re a doll. Don’t ever change.
safiya!!! i’m so glad you met her. i figured she would know you since she did her soap making video and referenced some of your videos in it.
I'm so excited for book soaps! I haven't read this book to my son yet because it also makes me cry. Maybe I'll have him read it to me instead!
I have read this to my son and it is one he really likes. He is almost 9 now and it is one of his favorites to read to me at night before bed.
Your make up look amazballs in this vid! Also yay to the book theme
'I liked crying if I thought it was romantic' is not only way too relatable for me, but also such an Anne Shirley thing to say and I love it. Now I'm kinda hoping for an Anne/L.M. Montgomery related soap, but either way I'm so excited to see what you do with this theme!
I read The Giving Tree to my daughter when she was in grade 1. We both cried. Every time. Such a lovely story. ❤
Ideas:
. Hogwarts
- School soap
- All The Houses
- Golden Snitch
. Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe (The Chronicles Of Narnia)
Ahh! The Giving Tree! This is an awesome soap idea. 💗🌱
You're how I wish I could be, lol. I'm unfortunately introverted. I have bursts of moment of talking and laughing with people but then I become exhausted and withdraw back into myself. Or the laughter ends and I don't know how to rekindle it. Sometimes I genuinely do want to keep to myself. And sometimes I want to or feel I need to converse but I have no idea again how to start a conversation. I can sit next to someone and know that the mood is awkward and I should say something but worried about their reaction and then...I do nothing.
So! Awesome that you're so outgoing and friendly :)
Way back when I started school after Labor Day. Now school starts in the middle of August here.
Where the Sidewalk Ends is my absolute favorite Shel Silverstein book.
Love this, the book that was big in my life and still is I would think is "Love You Forever" by Robert Munsch, my mom would read it to me and my grandma would also read it to me when I use to have sleepovers there. It's such a wonderful book, if I have children at some point in my life (I enjoy being 24, almost 15 lol) I would 100% read it to my children as well!
That book always makes me cry.
Also loved the Amelia Bedelia books, not sure how you could design a soap out of them though lol
Black soap frosting with flower imbeds to represent her hat, then make it smell like lemon meringue pie because that's what she makes in the first book.
@@mewsingsbynatk aaahhh! Yes! 😍
Something about the pop of red on the green is so delicious. Love the way these turned out with the glitter, stamp, etc!
This has always been one of my favorite books, it is hearbreaking but beautiful... this soap really captures the feel of the book, I love this.
Who dropped everything they were doing to watch this vid when they got the notification?
Ahhh it’s highlighted! That’s so cool 😂 I’m probably too happy but it’s ok.
Beautiful! One of my favorite children’s books! “Miss Twiggley’s Tree” by Dorothea Warren Fox is tied with “The Giving Tree.”
Aww. That was the first book I bought for my son when he was born! (He's my oldest) I still have it. I remember it as a kid too.
Note: I'd love to see a soap based on a book probably most of us read in middle School...THE OUTSIDERS. since the main phrase of that books was "stay gold ponyboy". I feel like you could do alot with that. 😁👍
i love how you can see al the little glitter specs flying around with the new camera!!
This would be a perfect back to school teachers gift!
Can you do a soap based on the Book Thief? Love your videos
Yes, yes, yesss!!!!
I started watching this channel about 9 months ago after I threw my back out. At night I would take my medication and find a good spot to lay and just stay there watching every video. It was super therapeutic. I still get sleepy and feel euphoric when watching this channel.
Verdi!!!! I loved that book as a kid!!!! The art was so beautiful
Book themed soaps?!? AMAZING!!! I would love to see a Jane Austen soap!!
My mother has a tradition that this book is given to every new member of our family Love this book 📖
You are such a pure person, I love watching all of your videos and listening to you tell stories. I also love that CZcams hasn’t gone to your head, you’re an amazing person!!
This is one of my favorite books. Your soap is beautiful as always. I love the things you make and the messages you share! Go hug those sweet kids!
My kids love watching your videos and I feel guilty every time I watch one without them. They are going to freak over this month's theme.
Tell them they can watch after they read a book 😊
Oh mi gosh I grew up with this story. Reminds me of my Gramma!
Katie your too sweet for Vidcon! You're a rare gem in this community! Also I love the theme this month!
This is one of my favorite children’s books! Bringing back memories
