I have a theory. While Talion is definitely more powerful in Shadow of War, he seems to be a better hand to hand combatant in Shadow of Mordor. I mean look at the execution animations, the stealth kill stabs animations, and the counter ones as well. It’s so much more grounded and extra skillful than the second game. My personal theory is that this change was intentional to show how at first he was more reluctant to use his new wraith powers or straight up didn’t know how to access all of them so he stuck with his training and experience as a ranger to fight. However in the second game, he’s been a wraith for a good while (especially as of the Etariel DLC) so he uses way more wraith powers in combat. Teleportation, enhancing his physical capabilities more, summoning more weapons, etc. If I’m right, than that is some deep leveling of thinking and attention to detail on the dev’s part.
Oh wow didt know i comment on this video before i changed my opinion i think shadow of war graphics is much better, i just played mordor again shit i hate the plastic looking graphics its still great very addicting and for some reason captains and warchief is much easier.
It also helps show off Talion's target change. In SoM, he was fighting for revenge, motivated by anger and the desire to reunite with his family as soon as possible. On the other hand, in SoW, Talion went on to fight to save Middle Earth. Revenge became something more secondary in his life, falling below freedom and justice. This could also include Celebrimbor, because now they would face the one who took everything he loved from him, so using his powers, increasing the image of the Bright Lord, was poetic. The powers gained in death that Sauron and his people produced for them would be what would bring it to an end.
@@whatthehell4644 I think what you meant was that you preferred the art direction of the original game, not necessarily the graphics. Having recently put in 30 hours in Shadow of War after putting the game down for a good amount of time, I think the stylistic choices in Mordor are more memorable and compelling. War, while superior on a technical level, made stylistic concessions for the benefit of gameplay. It’s a much brighter game with streamlined enemy design compared to the original.
looking back at this game. By the end game. you really just fall into a pattern of stuns, flurry kills then executions. It's satisfying and fun. But you realize how inefficient it is to explore creative combat.
One thing I actually love about this game is how they encourage you to go all out, Use all abilities efficiently and stop holding back. They gave you ability to fill up arrows whenever you want, Ability to brainwashed any uruks(and weaken captain/warchiefs as wel) you want, Ability to stun ur enemy, Ability to execute ur enemy infinitely for 20 seconds. But even with these all abilities, If you’re getting cocky, Brute way through it instead of going for a trap and use it to turn the table, learn enemy’s weakness and used it to exploit the enemy or use all ur abilities efficiently like this dude did, You’re done. They will keep punished you forever. God, I love this game… Will play Shadow of War for sure when I’m done with Mordor.
cool combo, i did the same on the same spot when the game launched i played for 45minutes without getting hit the REAL hard part was actually NOT killing the enemies because their spawn was way way too slow one of the best games i have ever played (just pure fun)
I miss these types of games, being able to walk into a fort with nothing but a sword and bow and murdering everything in sight, while rpgs are fun, I don’t like how some of them have you grind for literally hours and if a dude is 1 level above you, you can’t kill them with a single headshot or stab to the neck

Talion solos.
For sure, but even this Talion just joining the army would've made it more easier for everyone
