  • The Reading Hospital - Tower Health Psychiatry Residency training program is a four-year, ACGME-accredited general psychiatry residency program. The goal of the Reading Hospital - Tower Health Psychiatry Residency is to train residents to have a successful clinical practice, which includes competency in both psychopharmacology and psychotherapy. Our residents gain experience in inpatient, outpatient, geriatric, forensic, community, consultation liaison, emergency psychiatry, substance abuse, and child and adolescent psychiatry in a variety of clinical settings throughout Berks County. We offer a strong didactic curriculum as well as a commitment to lifelong learning and research so that at the completion of the residency program, residents are competent in the ACGME-defined core competencies of patient care, medical knowledge, interpersonal and communication skills, practice-based learning, professionalism, and systems-based practice.
