Bob made 5 attack rolls... Because of the inspiration lmao 5 😂
@@miguelsuarez-solis5027 I don't think they actually rolled the 5th. I'm not sure Rob would have survived if he did.
@@VivaLaDnDLogs oh no they legit did roll 5 times lol... I even gladly went back and double checked lol... 5 rolls lmao
@@miguelsuarez-solis5027 I thought I had too?
Two rolls with one die, then he tried a new dice for Inspiration that rolled the Nat 1, then he tried again and got a 6. Was there another after that I missed?
@@VivaLaDnDLogs he rolled 3 die for the first attack because advantage and inspiration then another 2 for his dagger attack because of advantage... I counted them off when I double checked
It was hilarious either way lol
I think I almost asphyxiated during filming of this episode. Ben's rolls are a danger to my life.
It is Will Wheaton in disguise. He is holding Ben captive somewhere.
Yep it has to be Will wheaton or Ben was cursed as a child
Give him a good luck kiss on the cheek, Rob 🤣🤣🤣
He should get a special skill called “Bad Luck Bob” If he rolls less than five four times in a row it’s considered a nat20.
At least Bob is a danger to _someone_.
I'm just gonna put this here before I forget, for posterity.
_At the end of their journey, Grinn settles down back in Honeywood, opting to use his Cleric expertise in a more mundane manner, and opens up a shop near Bodger's and Greg's. He now makes a savoury, delectable baked dish - a pie of sorts, topped with a selection of meat, vegetables, and cheese - and serves it to the people, healing their stomachs and their hearts. All these he does with a smile - or rather, a grin._
_His dish? It's called Pizza._
_The food he cooks immediately creates traction within the community and people starts calling his shop:_
_Domino's Pizza._
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
HEAD CANON!!!
Brilliant. This is now canon.
this is cannon fuck i dont care this is cannon
This is amazing. Lol
In the 1st episode Rob said "They might be really lucky" about Bob's dice. It may have started there. The DM's Accidental Curse.
Me reading the title, thinking: how could the rolls get any worse??
Ben: Hold my daggers
"Ben: Hold my daggers"
Yeah, he doesn't want them any more, lol.
"literally, just hold em, I might make more damage without em"
Hold my beer
Drops them anyway.
"You have no idea what I am (not) capable of."
I cant believe you guys didnt even give this wizard an 8th chance to explain his actions! He may have not been evil.
They're such murder hobos! Only 7 chances to explain? Pfft.
Remind me never to cross you guys 7 times.
Yeah, just because he looks like Lucius Malfoy's black haired twin brother, doesn't mean he's evil. Geez!!!
@@wjzav1971 TBH Looks doesn't have to mean anything... That would mean any Metalhead, Goth, Blackrock style etc is "evil" - and I can assure you, we're not.
We hug and sing and eat pancakes.
@@Manicca I was just making a joke that Yaris looks like Lucius Malfoy if he was black haired.
I know that looks don't denote anyone being evil. My brothers are Metalheads and they tell me every year how the Wacken Open Air is the safest big concert event there is.
When the DM literally collapses laughing, you know you're just boned to pieces. Bless his heart, he tries so hard and every set of dice hate him so much.
I love how Rob with the Math Degree laughs at Ben's ability to defy probability.
Imagine Rob's talking with his grandchildren one night at the family D&D table, 40 years from now.
Rob's grandchild: Grandpa, why did you give up on becoming a mathematician?
Rob, with a gleam in his eye: Little Timmy, let me tell you all about the myth, the legend, Bartholomew the Star-crossed...
It's even worse for Ben when you realize this is the same session since ep. 34. That's a lot of god-awful rolls.
Yeah, it wasn't just this set of rolls that broke me, it was the lead up, him failing to sneak coz I rolled a 20, him happening to be standing next to Bodger, just so much.
@@VivaLaDirtLeagueDnD
You're rob? Great work man, I'm hooked
Rob crying is priceless
Everytime I rewatch this I lose it when Rob breaks down. He's so good as DM but this group and Bob's rolls have to be so tough for him
f
Bob crying is priceless
Ben's natural one was so absolutely insane that it shoved everyone back five feet
As usual, the subtitles on this one are spot-on. "HEARTLESS LAUGHTER"!!! "ALL LAUGH AT BEN'S PAIN. AGAIN."
When the DM ends up on his knees from laughing you know it must be ridiculous
Rob's laughter was probably the best part of this episode.
You forgot the tears. HE'S IN TEARS!
Rob dying from laughter is adorable.
Wil Wheaton and Bob enter the same room and the universe collapses having rolled a 1 on continuing to exist.
I was thinking JUST this!
I always knew it would end like this 😂
This would be epic
Could there be a better pair?
... rolled 1 on a d[infinity] dice (which is mathematically perfect zero chance)
"I'm not wearing armor"
"Well, I'm not wearing glasses"
This writing is so good 😂
"Well, we tried."
No writing
Rob cracking up is always great, especially when he's laughing about improbable maths.
If Ben ever manages to roll a natural 20 during this campaign, it will probably create a rip in the fabric of time and space and unbalance the universe
He did.. when he set up a tent 😆
Oh, he rolls Nat 20s. Just never when he needs them.
he will roll a nat 20 it will just be on something that REALY unimportant. like an investigation check in a completely empty room with nothing interesting
He will casually kill an elder god with a nat 20 when it's not even important but won't be able to cut a stick in 2 when he needs it to survive
Nah, it just be for something silly and incidental, like tucking the blanket for Grinn. Every time he rolls high in a combat situation the enemy just rolls better.
The legendary bad luck of Bob is still here
calling it right now Ben needs a designated roller rule to be made. one other person rolls at the same time he does and then add 1/2 their roll to his up to 15. If by some unforeseen reason Ben rolls a nat 20 on his own his player Bob automatically does 4X damage on target
@@DeathclawJedi better yet with this luck if bob by some miricale gets a nat 20 on an attack roll he instantlyy wins the fight
@@SuperJackwilson Agreed but that was kinda the point of the 4x dam idea
Could you get Ben and Will Wheaton together at all? That should make for some interesting dice rolling.
I'd love to see them weave his bad rolls into his character. Like maybe he's not really a rogue, maybe he's a bored merchant who was looking for some adventure. He's just been pretending this whole time and that's why he can't hit anything with his weapons. All of his lies are starting to catch up to him and the rest are starting to get suspicious.
I want shirts with BOBs face that says May the Dice be ever in your Favor”
I think you mean, never in your favor.
Cause they sure aren't ever in his
I think we need a skit that explains how BOB's family line was cursed with bad rolls. What witch, warlock, or sorcerer did they piss off.
The answer to what witch, warlock or sorcerer they pissed off is... yes.
Also an adventure to Fix It 😂
He and They pissed of all the sorcerer and wizards in all the lands 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
B.O.B's great great grandfather crawled in a grand sorcerer and exploded him from the inside, and every since the family has been cursed with the Nat 1 whenever they work with a sorcerer.
Reminds me of that time Brit was with the gang. She jumped, attacked someone, did 0 dmg, retreated and slipped on the ice.
I miss her

This series is really an excellent way to explain D&D to someone who never played before as well as super entertaining for the rest of us spectators.
This is how to play WELL. The roleplaying is shockingly good (though the metagaming is a bit much sometimes). Everyone is having a blast and that's really the point of D&D.
8:41 I can rewatch this 20 times just to see everyone's separate reaction 😂
I've already watched Bobs turn multiple times in a row. Rob just disappearing behind his screen crying from laughing is the best part for sure 😂
14:23 they says this is a shit fight because everyone is missing but if you were to act it out you could make it an epic fight where everyone is dodging
If they missed by one or two, not with these attack rolls 😅
I thought it was a brilliant fight. I loved Hamish and Yarris's little interactions “oh well we tried, GG” 😂
Yea... Can be dodged or blocked
I feel like Rob missed an opportunity to work this into the story. The Calm emotions spell was cast so the characters weren't completely committed to their attacks.
Damn, I missed my shot there! ...Like all of them did! eyo!
@@VivaLaDirtLeagueDnD y'all should make this into a mini serie ( epic npc style) this is so brilliant. it should come to life beyond the boardgame!! :) thank you for the years of entertainment.!!
If you think about it, the moment Grinn casts the shield of faith, ending the calm emotions effect, The rolls start to be good again.
I bet it’s like in a dream where you try and punch someone and it’s like moving underwater. That’s probably what they are all like in a misty haze of weed smoke haha
Genius!
The exchange between Yaris and Grin is probably the most polite fight I've seen.
This is the best version of Greg. He can create smelly screwdrivers, beeping objects, and a cannon. Oh yeah! He also has a glock.
The whole rooms freak out over the Nat 1 was hilarious 😂😂
Like how they all exploded in laughter
Ha! I know! It was like if D&D was a sport that everyone took seriously and someone just scored an own goal with a broken leg 😂
@@tauriel_brisingr3936 Poor Ben kinda did though XD
Ok Rob's reaction at 5:59 is PRICELESS
EDIT: GOOD LORD 6:52
EDIT #2 8:38 WHAT THE ACTUAL HELL
😂😂😂
The last part tho lol
Dont worry Bob it is just one of the days. Remember you have gone through dark souls grind. Keep all that emotion in until your next rolls. It will be rewarding.
Pretty sure at this point that if Bob did give up and try to attack himself that he would miss.
Bob then learns how to use magic missiles and uses them to deal a total of 3 damage every time
... watch this space. I may have specifically added an item to future loot with BOB in mind after this fight.
@@VivaLaDirtLeagueDnD lets be honest though, Ben/Bob would probably miss the loot and not be able to use it 🤣

Ben breaking the laws of probability never gets old .
0:00 - Oh, I wonder about whom the title of this episode refers...? Ben, perchance?
6:20 (Rob): 'I can't deal with this. It's not how maths works. It's not how probability works!'
I just noticed that Hamish's figure is actually a dragonborn...
Also, rob's reaction to ben's rolls was prbly the best part of this episode
Right?! Is he a dragon born? I'm so confused.
@@dylanmahaffey8920 Rob explained the situation on one of his "behind the screen" streams on Twitch. Domino was supposted to be a dragonborn, but the guys changed it in the last moment so they won't have troubles with the greenscreen stuff because of that.
@@Yansigizmund ah, now that makes sense.
So hamish just thinks he is a dragon born?
@@davidmoushey6185 Robert did not confirm nor deny this information. I think he created an interesting backstory for him, so i guess we will find it out in future episodes :)
This seemed very therapeutic for Rob, after all the stress they have caused him, he almost dies laughing lol
I don't think you can say you've played D&D until you've felt that deep dark despair in the pit of your stomach that Ben experienced in this one. It's ok Ben. We know your urge to cry was real, and we understand.
I’m so hyped for baelins route!

Yup woot it's going to be great
Same here
Should be epic!

We need a montage of all Bens bad rolls and Rob's laughter.
Can we all just appreciate Ben's awesome acting in the cut scenes, to be that smarmy knowing the heartbreaking/infuriating truth makes this episode a joy to see
Please someone give a hug to Ben...after seeing what happened I always feel really bad.

Can someone else roll for Ben?
Ben man NEVER go to Vegas I swear you are the MOST unlucky man I have ever seen.
The problem is that even the rolls AGAINST him are ridiculously not in his favour.
@@masacarre i know right?
But maybe when he’s in a casino he would roll really well?
@@VivaLaDirtLeagueDnD maybe just life and death rolls are what he's unlucky at I guess
@@VivaLaDirtLeagueDnD He would roll a jackpot on some machine right after someone else had emptied it, or play poker and get great cards on terrible hands.
Love how the guys have been leaning more and more over the table when Ben rolls the dice throughout this campaign.
My abs are hurting from laughing at Bob’s rolling to attack and everyone’s reactions.
😂😂😂 This reminds me of how wise Bob's decision to not enter the casino was!
Edit: just putting it out here, chance of Ben rolling 6 or below consecutively in 5 rolls is 0.00243%
It's not .00243% because the initial chance is 30%. It's .243%
@@scooterparsons5349 ohh you're right, I forgot to multiply by 100 when converting into percentage
I am admittadly bad at math but this doesn't seem right. Its a 1 in 20 chance to roll any number every time the die is thrown (its a D20 I assume). So any 5 numbers have exactly the same odds of being thrown in a row as any other sequence of 5 numbers. If he had 5 dice then I can see that but with a single die?
@@clairelong2917 Late but still i will try to explain it. You have 5 rows with d20 so there is 3200000 possible combination of 5 rows. Yea odds of one combination are just 3.125e-7 (0.0000003125 or 0.00003125 %) and this is for "1;1;1;1;1/20;20;20;20;20/1;2;3;4;5" or anything. Here we are not talking about one specific combination but about all sets that contain only numbers from 1-6 and chances for this are small. Only 0.243% (which is still higher than getting flush in poker) because rolling lower than 7 has just 30% and repeating this 5 times makes it quite unlikly. And no, there is no difference if he is making 5 rows separately or one with 5 dices odds are still that same
@@Just_a-guy I understand now. I wasn't thinking in tems of sets with the range of 1 to 6. Thanks for taking the time to explain. I am better educated today for it. it took 11 months but I do apprecitae it :)
10:23 "you've never attacked before so..." (c) Heartless Rob 😂
P.S. Give Ben a hug, guys!
This is my favorite goofy d&d show, even when Ben isn't killing Rob with hysterically bad rolls 😂
OMG that episode is a real pain for the nerves xD
By the way, as non-native english speaker I really must thank you for the quality of the subtitles! Not that I need them that much, but they real help me catch every word and not miss anything!
Same here!! I usually turn them on and off all the time haha
This episode did not disappoint!! An epic fight scene, Rob’s laughing fit and Bob’s bad luck make for viewing gold!! Thanks for the laughs VLDL!!
7:25 You know its bad when Rob starts crying from laughter
"THATS NOT HOW PROBABILITY WORKS" is PRICELESS
I literally about died watching him roll. I couldn’t catch my breath and was suffocating but I couldn’t stop laughing. That was only on the first attack. We’re not gonna talk about what happened on the second attack. By the end of it tears were streaming down my face. I haven’t laughed this hard in years, not since Scott Sterling.
6:53 Never laugh so much... until 8:40 !!! Bob is my favorite person ever!!! Great job guys! I really enjoy your videos!
Rob sinking below the table cracked me up.
Can we take a moment to appreciate that the first hit in this combat was made with disadvantage? Clearly Greg has avoided the curse thus far.
Actually, the first hit in this combat is Baradun "Maximilian Earthen Grasp" At the first time. But yeah, after all of the shit rolls from BOB and it's spreading to Grinn and even Yarris... It's still surprised me Greg managed to avoid the curse and hit even with disadvantage... (Edit : The fire elemental snake is missing hit too)
This will always be my favorite episode. The pure rage of Ben mixed with Rob's laughter is absolutely breaks me every time!
The way Rob been rolling, this is how I see his character plays. "Ever since Bob's brother betrayed him he has been able to fully attack the enemy. Even when Bob say he's okay but, he still can't focus."

When the DM can't continue because he's crying from laughter at the rolls you know it's bad. I'm now waiting for Ben to snap and start attacking in real life. Considering his jiu jitsu skills at least he can take solace in knowing he'd destroy everyone else in the room, not that a omoplata is going to help his D&D rolls any 😁 .
How to break a DM?
step 1: Throw impossible throws.
Now I want to see the guys do a parody song based on "The Impossible Dream" 😄
I didn't even watch this episode yet, but seeing the thumbnail made me say out loud: "Nooo, poor Bob!"

This might be the funniest ep yet--I was pretty sure Rob was going to be curled up on the floor needed a respirator, he was laughing so hard. Poor Ben!!
2-5-4-1-6: I've never seen a such monumental misfortune.
In the moment, I was hoping beyond hope that the 6 would be a 3. Just to complete the set of all 5 lowest numbers on the dice.
6:52 I love the immediate reaction after Bob's THIRD bad roll, the entire room collapses :D
Hamish is contemplating the universe in true noble fashion: "oouuuh nooooouuuu!"
That CGI raincloud is a stroke of genius. Poor Ben.
I still come back here a few times a year just to watch everyone’s reaction to bobs Nat 1. It’s been over three years and it still makes me happy.
In this episode: Ben's rolls break everyone at the table.

Omfg I'm in tears laughing so hard at this. Been binge watching this and seeing how unlucky Bob has been is killing me I fukin love it.
I love how everyone just lost their composure and had to leave the table haha
Ben just has the curse to be able to roll a natural 1 on a loaded D20, which is a miracle in itself
I genuinely feel so bad Ben. I've had consistently terrible dice rolls, too. It gets better, Ben!!
Oh this had me crying with laughter, when you make the DM cry you know you've either done something amazingly good or horrendously bad 😂
Rob: "DICE GODS WHAT DO YOU NEED FROM ME!?"
Dice Gods: "YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER!!!"

OMG the episode! I'm still crying with laughter. I knew it was gonna be bad for Ben but this level of bad luck was never reached before him. Poor guy! I feel so bad for him, even if the reactions of the others were hilarious! And his curse is spreading... Baradun better not die in the next episode, he did the most damages to Yarris (while being kinda creepy/cute?). Greg was epic as well against the fire elemental and Grinn, well he tried his best but Ben's curse is strong indeed. It's also strange to see Rowan so serious and thoughful of his impact on the others, he's cute. But I fear Rob's evil smile and Mr Burns' 'excellent' hands gesture at 17:17 does NOT bode well for Bodger.
8:40 This is.....this is just the best.
I feel really REALLY bad for Ben. I know I would be fucking mad myself. But the reaction of everyone is just so funny!
"I'm sorry you never attacked before..." Bwahahaha!
I've literally watched this episode 5 times just for Ben's reaction to the dice rolls. And I've laughed every single time.
Also -- if Baradun is able to use the Hideous Laughter spell, he should use the Zaza joke to cast it.
I can genuinely watch this at my tea break. Looking forward to it given the "worst rolls" header
7 minutes in and Ben broke science, probability AND Rob. omg. I've people looking at me because I've buckled.
22:48 - I really thought Alan just said 'Just keep running, clever boy, don't look back' and was going to give him plaudits for the Doctor Who reference... but I had another listen, and he said 'baby' not 'clever'... so I can't.
