we had an anti-brothel law on the books in my small college town where you couldn't have more than 3 unrelated women living together in one house 😂

Lots of college towns have that rule for some reason

CSU “family housing” is $1250 a month for a two bedroom one bath, bare bones , thin walls, unit. You still need to pay monthly for parking on top of the campus parking fee. There isn’t air conditioning but there is intermittent heating and a laundromat that may or may not have functioning machines. Theft and vandalism is high in the complexes so pay for a ring camera if you decide to live in the units. The management refuses to clean up trash and enforce noise ordinances during quiet hours, purchase a fan for sleeping. Internet is terrible so you have to go to the university to accomplish anything. If you don’t mind doors that don’t close all the way and uneven floors as well and a refrigerator that only works when it wants to living here is pretty cheap. Sure, it smells terrible and there has been a tremendous mouse infestation regardless of how well you store your food and the mice appear to be college educated because they found their way into the refrigerator and left fecal dropping near the cold cuts, but living here, you don’t pay utilities! So that’s a plus. The toilet wobbles when it flushes and you can hear AND smell when the neighbor uses their bathroom. It’s better than being homeless or living in your car and it’s right on the bus route when the bus runs. I mean sure, there are a lot of children that seem to run around without any parental supervision and kick gravel at cars parked in the lot, however they are kids and its not as though they are lifting boulders and cracking windshields. The most damage has been chipped paint and flattened tires.
What more do you really need? There is a roof, yes I know it leaks, but that’s not a big deal, lots of roofs leak. There are walls. Okay, I understand the mildew and cracks might be off putting but a spay bottle of bleach and posters go a long way. There is a floor. You won’t trip if you watch where you’re stepping. There is plumbing. Okay, you got me there, it’s a promise of plumbing. You have electricity. With the bonus of flashes! It’s for families. Who doesn’t enjoy the blood curdling screams of children at 11:00 at night on a Wednesday during finals? Think of it as character building. Submit your application and become a neighbor now!
I mean, it’s the cheapest rent in Fort Collins.
