    If Tammy knew or suspected Chad’s affair, no wonder she was depressed, low energy, and going to bed early. That’s what a private person would do if their marriage is falling apart.

      Heather Daybell suspects Chad had approached Tammy about living a polygamous lifestyle & Charles had sent an email stating he believed that Chad was having an affair or affairs. I mean how many people did he make up this story of being their husband in multiple past lives. He told Julie Rowe this, Melanie Gibbs and Lori.

      However, severe religious indoctrination in the home (including likely Chad's fringe LDS beliefs) means that these children should probably be pitied, also.

      I feel like the biggest tragedy is that Tammy seemed to honor the old school fundamentalist LDS views that Chad held- which are extremely s3xist. Chad treated her like complete sht and didn’t even allow her to have friends over, and she allowed it bc of this religion. And the kids put all their love and loyalty into their dad and treated their mother like garbage bc they were taught the same cr@p. Tammy was ok with it (accepted it anyways) probably because she grew up with those same “ideals” in her own home? That or Chad slowly turned the heat up after they got married and by then it was too late. And divorce is such a no no in that culture too. A takeaway from what I went through with my marriage, divorce ,and counseling is that if you are a nurturing person like Tammy and myself there is a tendency for what is called character disorder people now to be attracted to you. And when you realize there is a problem and start to pull away that is when it becomes dangerous. The very first thing he did was move her away from her family. She was spending more time away from home with her activities. Then there is a splitting up of the assets when you go through a divorce. anybody that is nurturing needs to really get to know your potential mate really well because according to my psychologist we seem to draw them to us. Just having an alcoholic parent can create this dynamic. Or an idea forced upon you by an authority figure(s) whom you fear or has power over you.
    Dysfunction comes in many forms.
    Tammy's husband may not have been an alcoholic, but he was drunk on his own self-importance and demanded total obedience.

    That Daybell home is a “tainted property”. No one but Emily and her husband would rent it. Prior would be stuck with a lemon if not for them. I would not be surprised if the Daybill young adults experienced blowback from their own community after their testimony. Emily seemed more concerned about her mother’s Fitbit usage than her father’s undeniable affair with Lori.

    The parallel I see is Heather Daybell told how Chad’s mother was regularly disparaged by his father and their sons, everyone piled on about her weight etc. This I think is/was happening to Tammy, in my opinion this can lead after many years to depression. Being “needed” by your family can feel like you are loved but in reality you are being used.
    In my opinion Garth felt sorry for his mother being a target but was powerless to protect her.

    Also, the Daybell family foundation totally cracked and has crumbled. Despite their "firm beliefs" and "doing everything right" it all came crashing down, and then the adult kids were expected to move on from Tammy's death instantly, because their "Patriarch" had already moved on. Chad literally abandoned his kids while they were in shocking grief and left them to pick up the pieces of their broken hearts alone, and used religious gaslighting to justify it! Out of love and respect for their "Patriarch" and coupled with staunch religiosity, I am not surprised they are showing no empathy all these years later. I think they chose to move on from all the horror, because they are clinging to any sense of "normalcy" they have left. Chad's actions have isolated his kids from other family members, friends, neighbors, church people, etc. The Daybell kids likely haven't even listened to anything else in regards to the case because they likely just could not handle it. They are moving on with their own families and careers, etc. I wish we could hear from the other three kids. It seems almost unfair to not know how they are all feeling 5 years later.

    • @E-magineMySurprise
      @E-magineMySurprise Před 9 dny

      @pnwlady I stand by my original metaphor.
      It is about collecting data from different sources that prefer to eat from different parts of the menu so that you get a good understanding of the restaurant as a whole, all the possible dining experiences.
      *Eating preference doesn't mean the experience or knowledge of an individual the analogy. It just represents what point of view or opinion they are sharing.
      I wanted to illustrate that knowingly limiting your information to sources with the same opinion gives you a partial view of the whole.
      You know that a vegetarian is going to give you a review of only parts of the menu, and even though their review is honest, it is only a part of the possible meal experiences. So, the data you are able to collect represents a fraction of the whole. If you treat this data as a representative sample of all the restaurant's diners' experiences, you have prejudiced results.
      If you want a balanced view of the full menu of experiences you have to get info from diners that prefer beef, some that prefer chicken, some that only want pork, and some that like a combination, in addition to the vegetarians.
