    Fantastic video. Calm under pressure. You had the vision (of the fixed panel), the patience in spite of the storm, the faith, and the belief (in yourself).
    These videos are very helpful. Please keep doing them; I believe your channel WILL get the recognition it deserves. Thanks for what you are doing!

    That was fascinating - incredible bias for action, even with the rain.
    Camara angle is dialed in.

    I like the idea that you always test. If you would have started working on that, you could have easily been shocked but most likely if you weren't grounded, you wouldn't have been shocked and could have arced the main feed that is unfused out. Big sparks, arc flash, being burned with molten metal and potentially at least damaging your vision. Always test and retest every time. I always ohm out things before flipping on the main and when I rough in a house before I wire my grounds and neutrals into the main panel, I ohm out the home runs. I found out over the years that no matter how experienced you are, you will drive a staple into a wire or at least another tradesman will at some point and having the walls all opened up allows you to find a short easier than when the house is done and you are turning breakers on for the first time to find a dead short in a circuit.

    Nice job. How did you find that Zinsco style breaker with the bolt connections on the bottom? I’ve had problems with that style before but the only zinsco main breakers I can buy plug on to the buss bar.

    That type of meter (with the lever) I've never had to work on one like that. Everything here is ringless.
    Btw, did you offer to come back and upgrade the whole service?

    What if my main breakers are two 100 circuit together set on power strip as the regular breaker are and it keeps tripping when I have a/c, stove, dryer, then the microwave is used the it trips the breaker. I think the breaker may be old and need a new one but I'm not an electrical savy person. What do I do??

    So this is strange to me as an european: you can just remove the meter like that? What's stopping anybody to remove it and steal electric energy?

    • @jakesully5402
      @jakesully5402 Před rokem +2

      I wondered same here in Canada. Our meters are locked in place by the local supply authority. I always find it neat watching CZcams to see different electrical systems all over the world.
      In this case, if I encountered the same issue, I would have to involve the power company to de-energize the meter box so I could safely change out that main breaker. I would request an emergency shut-down and get the issue resolved within a few hours.

    • @tedlahm5740
