That thermal camera is amazing! What a life saver 🤯
This video gave me flashbacks of many breakers and wire changes made with many changeouts during 2010. Trying to find breakers for older panels can be a challenge. To bad thermal imaging tools weren't as common back then.
That’ll be good series on breakers.
I like your videos. Is there a way in editing you can flip your image? For example your text appears backwards or reversed. Maybe there is a mirrored image setting you can use to flip it back so it looks correct while viewing.
Thank you sir I’m Lorne from Houston Texas
When you were measuring the amps being pulled that was only on one of the lines correct? (About 6 amps). If so the other line would also need to be measured to get the full 12 amps minimum it should be pulling.
I am Stanley , from Jamaica. Good presentation.
Thank you stanley
The minimum circuit ampacity number on the data plate indicates the ampacity of the power supply conductors. Typically 12 AWG can power 20 amps and 10 AWG can power 30 amps.
Wish I would have set those exact words in the video
Good stuff
Excellent video!!! Thank you
You're welcome i'm glad you think so and i'm glad you're here and you're watching
Keep up the Great work! Doing good things my man!!!
Great video thank you will use this knowledge today
Excellent news thank you so much for watching
Good info ... Thx ...
Wire size guide would be helpful.
Thanks!
Wow you're welcome thank you so much
Awesome video
Thank you brother dan
great!! but remember use protective glove sir, avoid accident
I appreciate all the good information. I have recently became a member and I’m very interested in getting the wire sizing diagram and whatever else material or suggestions you think would help me. Thank you very much. I’m an HVAC installer located in Phoenix, Az tryna up my game and knowledge
Wonderful! Here is my email tadfuller1@gmail.com
Where on the NEC book can u find breaker overload protection for all sizes along with their dedicated wiring gage?
not sure off the top
Perfect thank you
You're welcome!
Just subscribe.. trying to teach myself how to do basic wiring on the old house where I grew up. I'm sure your wiring guide will help. House was built in the 50s so ANY advice you can give is GREATLY APPRECIATED.
Thank you so much for subscribing
You should be using a Fluke not swag meters, there is a difference in safety
Okay I will check the fluke out
If there was a 20A or 25A fused disconnect.....would that be fine for the outdoor unit?
yes
My electric light start flickering when we start washing machine or become dimm when start microwave iron or compressor. It happens on any power outlet. Does elecric pannel needs service ? I am in Mississauga ON. I am thinking low emparage draw from breaker because moisture issue in the breaker pannel room. Can panel service by electrician might fix the issue. Usually electrician sugges replace wiring wich is too costly.
Is there a reasoj you are using two different meters, or is it just preference? Trying to learn more about the electrical side of this.
Just preference
So with the infrared camera you found the breaker was hot, so if something like that it’s better to replaced the panel? Or just the breaker. Also what’s the normal temp for regular breaker/AFCI?
Ever get the answer?
Just curious. Shouldn’t you be reading 240 when your checking volts across both legs? 215 sounds low
Cricket's 🦗 🦗
Did you torque those breaker lugs nec 2023 require them to be torqued to specs...whia vde rated 1000 volts insulated
Of course my brother
I want to know how many Amps are being drawn through a 30 amp double pole breaker when the dryer is turned on and running. I have a Fluke multimeter and a Klein clamp meter. After setting either meter to Amps I place a lead to the hot and the other lead to the neutral? Or with a clamp meter set to Amps, I clamp one of the black wires and then the other?
yes
If I dont want to do a panel upgrade. How do I determine that my main panel have enough power for a subpanel ?
do a load calculation to determine
@@TaddyDigest how do I do that ? Would I put the meter clamp on one phase or do I clamp each individual circuit in the panel ?
I would like the wire sizing guide. I’m a member. Could you plz send me it 🙏🏽
Awesome thank you for joining my friend

Thank you for the good information. I'm getting spike amp draw in the middle of the night. My power company said most like my ac is shooting over 100 amp on the start up of my ac when it kicks on. Can you explain how this is possible? I would imagine my breaker would trip or burn up in no time.
Tampa Florida, under the communist rule of Duke Energy.
Give me something wrong with the starting relay or capacitor for your compressor.
Check out my video on how to measure lock rotor or amps we're starting amps
or my video on the ICM control soft start.
I'm no expert, but why does it need a 20amp breaker instead of 30amp.
You're pulling under the max of 30amps so it should be completely fine shouldnt it? Thats like saying you have a 120v , 20 amp circuit but are only using 15 amps so you should change breaker to 15amp....or am i incorrect?
This is a motor load. Its treated differently as opposed to a resistive load. If you use a 30 amp breaker on a circuit designed for 20 amps, the breaker might not trip promptly during an overload.
