Early, middle, late…hard to go wrong with the Beatles.
The thing about the Beatles is how much of their influence is in every other band.
The thing about the Beatles is, their songs sound simple on first listen, but the more you analyze them, the more you find the nuances that made them great. I wish Ringo would have gotten to play during this recording session. The drummer did not have Ringo's ear for sure. It would be great if you would react to their whole collection of recordings in chronological order (including the tracks that weren't included on albums). Their growth was astounding.
I call it “intricate simplicity “.
You cannot go wrong with the Beatles. So much of their music formed my youth and my love of music. This song was released the year I was born, but I consider it part of my youth. More Beatles any time.

When I think back to when I first heard the Beatles they were so original and interesting. I wanted to always hear their next song. I loved everything they did because they changed the sound of music and it seemed like they would never stop being original
It's the progression and change of styles and sounds from the first album through to the final album is staggering.
You could be born in any year after them and it seems like you've known them all your life , they are so wonderful

This is one of the Beatles very early songs from 1962. Interesting note: This song was composed by Lennon-McCartney in 1958 although it wasn’t recorded by the group for another four years. Also "Love Me Do" was recorded by the Beatles on three occasions with three different drummers.

"I Saw Her Standing There" kicks off that first album. Rock and roll 1963 style when there wasn't a lot of that around.

If you go early Beatles again, do "I Want to Hold Your Hand," which was the first Beatles song released in the U.S. and also their first No. 1 song in the U.S. in 1964 ... that started the British Invasion and Beatlemania.

The best thing about Beatles music is it's like seeing the building blocks of an entire genre and industry. Their evolution is so dramatic over such a short amount of time. They were the spark for so many artists that came after and their rivalries with their peers propelled music and artistry at light speed.
We used to run across town on Saturdays to buy the latest Beatles single. Their first few singles were for kids. I was 6, Sis was 11. We played them on our little record player in the garage and all the kids on our street came to dance.
This song was The Beatles' third #1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart during the year of 1964. Hearing John Lennon on the harmonica solo part of this song is priceless. This song is definitely a banger indeed!!!
Love Me Do was their first recording and first to chart in the UK at "20. "Please Please Me" their next single was their FIRST No. 1 song in the UK (they were unknown in the U.S.) at this time.

Little did we know at the time how famous that harmony would become, written in 1958 by two lads who were little more than kids, not bad is it.
Their first UK single - it scraped into the top 20. Their next dozen singles all went straight to number one. It's simple and naive, but it really brings a smile to the face after all these years and paved the way for the greatest music ever. There'd been a movement in UK music just before this called skiffle, which was simple acoustic folk-rock. This song still had a bit of the skiffle feel.
This was their first real single in 1962 and it showed promise. I happen to love it and the early Beatles because of the rawness they had. To have to imagine the world back in 1962. This was special.

My mom worked at the "Capitol Magnetic Products" plant in CT in the '80s, and she would occasionally bring home cut-out vinyl albums from Capitol recording artists, some of which were Beatles compilations. One year an older cousin came to visit us from Greece, and I have memories of her recording these Beatles records (which I hadn't really listened to much, because I was like 7 or 8) on an 8-track tape on our hi-fi stereo. The song that stuck out the most -- and which has long been a nostalgic favorite of mine -- was Love Me Do. ❤

I was a very lucky youngster when it came to the Beatles. It was way before everyone else saw them on Ed Sullivan. I had met a new kid in school, Mike Duncan, who had just moved to my hometown in Kentucky from Germany where his dad was in the Air Force. Mike had some 45 RPM's of a band from England called the Beatles. He played them for me and I was hooked! Thanks Mike!

I’m pretty sure , hearing this song for the first time in the mid sixties, I heard my fist harmonica lick. Love at first take. Also, good call , Aunt Mimi. Maybe later, John will buy you a house with the royalties from this number. (He did!)

When I think of Beatles music, I think of my favorites and there are none better than Drive My Car and Day Tripper. There were definitely more sophisticated songs as they got older (which I love) but these two, there was just something about them. Ty, before you go, you must bring "Something About You" by Level 42 onto the channel. It is a hidden gem from the 80's and one I think you will love. It is the first song I ever downloaded to an old Ipod. I just love the song.
I had read that The Beatles' harmony was based on the Everly Brothers. Once I heard that, it all makes sense. If you'd like another from their earlier years, my favorite was always Eight Days a Week. I remember when it was played on American Bandstand. They gave it a 90 because it had a great beat and you could dance to it. Of course!
Absolutely true about the Everly Brothers. I would also include early girl groups whose songs they covered, like the Shirelles.

Several times a year I will listen to the entire Beatles catalog in one go chronologically. They never disappoint.
I want to recommend to you the song Shapes of Things by The Yardbirds. This is a legendary song with an iconic guitar solo from Jeff Beck. It came out in 1966. The solo is so mind-blowing even to this day. So influential.

I can recall hearing The Beatles as a 4 and 5 year old kid, and loving their songs. Saw two of their movies at the theater. Mid to late 60's.
Which reminds me -- there was another POP group that was popular at the same time that The Beatles were around in the 60's. They were called Herman's Hermits. Lead singer Peter Noone was considered the cute one. As was Paul McCartney for The Beatles. Herman's Hermits had a run of hits that rivaled those of The Beatles. Two of them come to my memory -- Mrs. Brown You Have A Lovely Daughter , and I'm Into Something Good. You would enjoy both, I'm sure. Herman's Hermits also appeared in a few films.
There is hardly an early Beatles song that I don't like. And they were putting them out rapidly. I had all of their albums. While it is unfortunate that the members turned to drug use, including LSD, their music didn't suffer. All of their albums shine.

The Beatles' heyday, their first studio album, but I like their later albums, such as the 1968 album "Abbey Road", the song "I Want You (She's So Heavy)", or the 1969 album "Yellow Submarine", the song

I love their early stuff because they did a lot with 4 tracks and the instruments they knew. As they grew in popularity more instruments and time, (expensive studio time), became available.

Ringo is not the drummer on this song. His version was rejected by producer, George Martin, for not keeping proper time--an assessment Paul McCartney agreed with. So the next week Martin hired pro session drummer, Andy White, to do the drumming at the official recording session. No one told Ringo he was being replaced, so when he arrived and saw White he was livid. Ringo sulked so demonstrably in the control room that the EMI engineers threw him a bone by handing him a tambourine so he could join his new band (he'd only been with them a few weeks) on the recording. George Martin in an interview a few years later said, *"I didn't rate Ringo very highly. He couldn't do a drum roll--he still can't. But he's improving."* Ringo to this day says in interviews that he's never forgiven Martin for replacing him.

Wife Speaking I was in the lives ,but just wanted to say. I do really like early Beatles...however as the years passed their music was quiet a bit more complex..such as my favorite.."Eleanor Rigby"..Great Reaction as Always!!
The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, and Led Zeppelin have pretty decent catalogs as well.

Such a simple sounding tune but, like the TV commercial says, it's catchy as f...udge. Please continue The Beatles journey. You could spend the next several months just reacting to their music. Enjoy. I could suggest individual songs by them but most of what they recorded was interesting and amazing. Just pick one of about 150 songs and go. I'll be here to watch the joy and amazement on your faces and listen to your analyses.
P.S. My sometimes only criticism of The Beatles is that many of their songs were too short; they left me wanting more.

"While My Guitar Gently Weeps" is 60s Beatles. It was on the White Album. All Beatles music was recorded in the 60s. In the 70s, they were solo artists who sometimes collaborated with a former bandmate or two.

Although I appreciate their genius, I'm not a huge Beatles fan. But there are three songs that I LOVE. They are just so frickin' good.
IN MY LIFE - makes you reflect.
REVOLUTION - that short opening riff is killer and really sets the tone for the rest of the song. Unfortunately, it's still relevant today. I really like this one.
ELEANOR RIGBY - "Eleanor Rigby, died in the church and was buried along with her name". That's an incredibly written line that paints a picture of a woman who never married and died alone. The violins are perfect in this song. The whole song is genius.
I have a feeling that store he stole the harmonica from ended up selling a bunch more after that song was released! All is well that ends well.😎

Love them, great songs but don't know who owns copyright to them now. Michael Jackson was the last to, that I know of.
I think the band comes closest to them in depth of catalog is the stones.
Listen to "In My Life" nothing else is better in the Beatles music.
