Why the "yeah but"? He has a great car and has pride in it. Why the need to down it? I find the professors with negative comments are usually consumers of the public transit system, fully consumed with jealousy and motivated only to try to bring the world down to their levels of obscurity. If his car pulls that time only once, it's still better than what the buses they ride can do in their lifetime, so stop the hate.

wow and now 2 years later i buy this car. blown head gasket, chain tensioner messes up. ahh i’m jp. got the car for 6.5k with 120k miles with a lot of doubts jjst for it to run like an absolute dream. got the belt replaced for safety, bushings replaced and oil topped off. absolutely in love
First of all, its a non-supercharged version, which means its loses more power on this altitude, and this is the L version, which is about 0.2slower then the normal version. This one can do 0-60 around 5.3s on normal circumstances.
Plus there was 2 tubbies sitting in it 😅.

@gene978 You are most welcome. I had a crazy impromptu race getting on the highway in the supercharged version of the XJ with a hot blond in a BMW X6 M. You'd be hard pressed to find two cars as closely matched in terms of just sheer straight line speed.
Get another one of these jags and see if it's worth the money still I want one but you'll can test it easier than a dealer would let me

No way in hell does it take 6 seconds. These fools messed up somehow.
There a mile above sea level it makes cars slower that’s not turbo charge
Big difference in weight between the two and altitude makes a big difference. Your stats would be a lot different pulling where they are.
They said they were at a high altitude before timing the runs.In high altitudes the car doesnt as much oxygen it needs to go through the intake.Its not an accurate 0-60 run at all.The numbers will be far different closer to sea level.

Only about 125hp short of testing the supercharged version.

My 04 xjr does it in 4.7 sec stock
385hp for a 5.0 V8 seems underwhelming.
It is considering 4 and 6 cyl engines are putting that out now. Hell a truck has more power.
