I love how Bumps stack is smaller despite Eda having gone to school even longer after we see her stack in the past. We can see just how many BS things Faust wrote her up for, squeaky shoes and chewing gum and whatever, and we know the stack Bump has for her is 100% genuine Edalyn Clawthorne rule breaking

I think the reason there’s less in the first scene is because in the first scene those are her permanent record and in the second scene she’s still in school so there will still be the non-permanent stuff

I guess that would explain why Eda was surprised by the stack in her adulthood compared to her childhood. After Bump became principal, he probably overlooked some of Eda’s trouble makings which may have been too “severe” in Faust’s perspective. Or the stacked looked larger in memory from a child’s perspective when she told the story.
Considering young Eda and current Eda said the same thing about how she thought there'd be more, you can't help but wonder how many atrocities she caused while in Hexside, and how many times she was sent to the principal's office for causing trouble.

It's funny that there's more files in Eda's memory of the past because that's how she'd remember it, but also because Faust was stricter and would have considered more mundane actions to be unruly antics.
Everyone is giving reason for why the stack would shrink over time, and most of them aren’t bad reasons, but there is one thing people are missing This flashback is a story Eda is telling Luz about how she met Raine, I think Eda exaggerated the size of the stack when telling the tale
Knowing how cruel and demonic the citizens of the Boiling Isles can be, I dont think its too big of an exaggeration. But another thing people should consider is that Present Eda has a more controlled reaction because she wants to stay on Bump's good graces so Luz can go to school.

I guess ( Vice ) Bump truly felt bad at the time for Eda and specially noticed she started to open a bit more in relations and a bit good behavior and hanging out with Raine calming down besides Lilith being the only person which he felt bad and planned to destroy some of her felonies files Incase if he ever becomes Principal and also prob gave an chance to stay in Hexside even under the Owl beast curse and notice years later we see Eda with him and the Bat Queen when every1 were getting they’re Palismens during Luz ( or prev ) era and it shows how Bump invited Eda to the ( each ) cerimony ? Guess Bump is kinda like Uncle Iroh from Avatar in his way 😅 It makes sense Eda in the present saying “ I taught there were more “
I think another reason why Present!Eda has such a calm reaction is because of Luz. She wants to stay in Bump's good graces so he can allow Luz to enroll at Hexside. If she acted too smug or arrogant about her permanent record, then it would make things harder for her.
Also, she respects Bump, while she absolutely _Hated_ Faust... And for good reason. Faust was pretty much a walking stereotype of the Hateful and Petty Evil Principle who favors one type of person no matter what wrongs they do, while pretty much being a douchebag to everyone else, not matter how petty the misdeed was... While Bump was more lenient and only really punished people for really doing wrong.
I love how bump removed all the nonsense that his predecessor wrote up. Dude might be strict but he's not a control freak. He knows that you learn by making mistakes and correcting them.
I like the implication Bump went through all of it at some point, got rid of all the disproportionate stuff, and there was *still* that many legitimate marks in there.

There's also the question of whether we as viewers can trust the flashback or if it's literally Eda relaying the story to Luz. Because if it's the latter, Eda is 100% an unreliable narrator who would embellish the truth.
