- Well, this took longer to make than I expected. Imagine watching the same hour long episode over and over again until you stop noticing details and feel like your brain is going to melt.
On a more serious note, I'm really going to miss this show. The Owl House will always hold a special place in my heart, even when I inevitably move onto other things. It was a fun 2 year long ride of watching the show, and I'll always cherish it.

The way Phillip tries to get Luz is like a Story trope. Someone is infected with evil, but good when saved from the curse. Often a mentor figure. At the beginning Luz would jump on this oportunity to be the hero and the special one like in her books. It shows how much she is grown

I think it means she accepted herself for who she is

Idk if I'm the only person who noticed this in WaD, but when Luz demonstrated the Collector on how she used the ice glyph, the Collector said "Pfft, a baby could do that", which could be a call back to Amity saying "a child could do that" when Luz showed her she could do magic too in "Covention"

Another detail you can pick up from what Collector says in 0:55 is that it confirms Philip's suspicion from "Elsewhere and elsewhen", where he says that it took years to find the glyphs, as if the world was trying to hide them from him

On the topic of glyphs revealing to Luz, it’s only at times that she truely earns them.
Light: She watches the video multiple times but it isn’t until she decides to actually pay attention to King and do his demon lesson that the video shows the glyph.
Ice: She spends the whole episode ignoring Eda and her advice because it’s untraditional and learns nothing until she learns to accept Eda’s methods.
Plant: I won’t lie I was a little disappointed with this one and it almost ruins my theory but ima say it was for the excellent pun she makes when she discovers it or something.
Fire: She constantly pushes Willow and Gus to their breaking point (albeit with good intentions) but it’s not until she demonstrates her kind hearted nature by offering to be a target for Bosha does the glyph show up on the ball.

i think every time she watched the video in that episode she like never even makes it to the part where eda casts the spell until she sees the glyph. i know king covers it up right before once
The plant glyph is actually first *revealed* off screen . It's implied she's been trying for a while to make it work on paper. It's not till we are a viewer that Luz succeeds in replicating it. But the actual gift of the plant glyph is not shown
as we know You can interact with others from the "in between realm" as long it casts a reflection..
So King's dad showed luz the glyphs through that method
Light glyph - through the phone like what luz did to her mom
Ice glyph -through snowflakes like what luz did with the rain(snow is just basically frozen rain)
Plant glyph - The magnifying GLASS she was looking through maybe
Fire glyph- Idk maybe through basha's magic

It’s the studio ghibly breath. That’s not an actual name for it I don’t think but if you look at any studio ghibly movie when the characters take a deep breath all their hair and stuff puffs out like that.

I like how Odalia isn't in the last group photo, ('cause she's the worst) and just off to the side all sour and pouty when Amity reunites wit her dad. Eda's vaguely pirate-ish outfit as a professor of wild magic, complete with shiny new hook hand also brings me great joy. Seeing Darius and Eberwolf sort of adopt Hunter is pretty cool as well.
I noticed that King’s grom crown tilts the same way the archive house is placed on the skull of the titan
The basilisks next to Eda’s door are the same ones from Vee’s backstory in ‘Yesterday’s Lie’

When you go through the photos next to the “headmaster” room; It’s actually Raine and the Luz and King duet, not Lumity. You can see by the skull shape next to Luz. Not purple hair😅

I just wanna point out how Belos kept saying "it's almost like the titan was trying to hide the glyphs from me" (or variations thereof) throughout the series and how Luz didn't have that problem and then we see KINGS DAD I just love it man
OHHHH. I thought the writing on the wall said “I gave up my man for you.” Palisman makes a lot more sense. Though it does beg the question: how many people knew what Belos did to them? Even if he said he would destroy them, I can’t imagine they knew Belos consumed them, unless that was a rumor whispered about the castle. A rumor you would hear far, far too late
Could just be that they felt terrible since they sacrificed their pet for him and he ended trying to kill them. They probably didnt know the extend of his consumption

I think it was known to an extent that Belos consumed the palismans, I can't remember the name of the episode but it was shown in a scene where Lilith went to see belos in his throne room (this was before she joined the gang) and belos told her to wait a sec before cracking open a palisman not just infront of her but his guards too so I think it was known to an extent but maybe noone talked about it out of fear or maybe it was told in hushed whispers and it just became a rumor.

One of the earlier episodes, I believe, when Lilith was still hunting her own sister.
At this point, Belos was seen as someone to admire & cower at.
Perhaps it be a rumor spread thin enough to not draw suspicions, but well enough to draw fear.

I honestly need Hunter's eyebag secrets, because I'm not being abused, and I sleep well, but my fave is stull 50% eyebag /hyp
If you need to get rid of eyebags when you sleep proper, drink more water (probably dehydrated unless your pee is almost clear)
And eat Omega-3s. Eye bags accompanied by proper sleep could mean thin skin
Sorry hon, I have them too and I do everything properly. I just have thin skin that always shows my veins and thus under my eyes always look somewhat reddish/purple because of it. If I don't sleep well then it becomes a much darker color and widens. But it is ever present and has to do with your skin thickness and blood vessels.
Also when Luz shows Collector the ice glyph on the mountain calls back to when she shows Amity the light glyph at the convention
They both respond with something like "a baby could do that spell... but I never saw it done like that before"
Luz’s abomination cat picture will now live in my head rent free for the next couple years
Thank you for mentioning the photo of luz and vee graduating together. By far my favorite detail it warms my heart that vee found a loving family and basically became Camilla’s second daughter :(
2:55 Oh my god, I was wondering why he didn't seem to have something for Luz. I thought those were buttons, but you're totally right. They're her lights!
A few other details I found interesting though probably obvious:
- The first scene in the dreams, none of the characters, except for the ones dreaming, have a shine (or "white dot") in their eyes, which is unsual since the eyes are pretty consistent throughout all of the series, meaning that something was already off
- 2:11 Luz makes sure to bring an umbrella because of the boiling rain
There's something I noticed when rewatching this show. The kids in the Detention Track don't have the shine in their eyes either, which is odd. Usually if a character doesn't have the white shine in their eyes it's for a significant reason.
@@blueflare3848 Eyes being dull (clacking the shine/white dot) in media could also mean a form of unhappiness beyond the sign of they're not being themselves. And considering the Detention Track, who WOULD be happy in there? :'D

On 0:30 I think the characters are dressed as THEIR biggest fears like hunter being the golden guard, Willow in her uniform, Gus at grom, amity at her house (bit of a stretch) and even Lilith is dressed up as when she worked for belos
The quote "NOW EAT THIS SUCKAAAAAH!" has been perminetly tattooed into my brain
5:01 I just realized all 3, Luz, Eda and King all have the same black and yellow eyes

Another thing I noticed at the end of the episode when they say bye is that the Bat Queen's children are now teenagers and have different designs!
How about this one? The Snaggleback is said to be the most powerful demon on the Boiling Isles. His voice actor, Arin Hansen, plays the actual most powerful demon on the Boiling Isles: The Titan.
I love how people just notice all the small details, it makes a huge difference for us fans

On top of the headmaster's door where Eda's come from, there is king's dad's light glyph, as well! Considering its importance in the story, I'm happy that they decided to carve it so that it could be remembered forever.

I also want to note some stuff I noticed that it seems no one really mentioned.. You can see that Luz got better at school with the A+ anddd she got a literature scholarship (in other words, she finally got her writing skills recognised) it is easy to miss with the Polly pin but it is there, the whole wall was filled with amazing Easter eggs and details that are just chef’s kiss
Everyone has been pointing out how Luz's glare at Belos mirror's Calebs glare at Belos, with those two being the only humans Belos trusted in the Boiling Isles and both g̶o̶o̶d̶ ̶p̶e̶o̶p̶l̶e̶ people who turned against him. And that's good.
But what always gets me about that scene is how he says "We're human. We're better than this!" As he is a melting pile of goop sustained by dark magic and she is a clawed, horned, black-eyed titan. They are both so far from being human at this point, and yet he's still clinging to the title like it'll keep him from dying. It's poetry.
I dont think Caled is that good, much like a negligent brother, since he abadoned Philip when he was probably a teenager
@@fer_nanda4509I don’t think he abandoned him, given they fell into the boiling isles together, and memories in Hollow Mind show they were hella close. He just felt abandoned because Caleb stayed and saw good in witches while Belos was too far gone

great way to sum up his continually toxic arc, fits wonderfully, hopefully kids can learn to watch out for that sort of thing in real life. We did not deserve Terrace and her amazing writing.
I see it more as a chronic illness, one that was also affecting her mental health bc of the rather terrible nature.

This one’s more of a theory than a detail but if you look at the old portal door it looks like it has the titans missing eye on it implying that he made the door.
I'd like to think the little Hooty growing out of the empty eye socket is also a hint that King's dad made the portal door.

Although King is treated as a "he", perhaps the Titans are hermaphodits. So Papa Titan could be also King's mother, without the need of a mate.
I'm pretty sure, when Papa Titan said "I'm king and queen best of both things" he was refering to himself being King's dad and mother

The patches on Luz's pants are her BI family!! Eda is the potion bottle, Raine is the music note, King is the Titan symbol, and Amity is the abomination cat!
So, one thing I noticed is that, in that scene in King's Tide when the gang fights Philip, just after Philip does that manipulation thing to Hunter, he looks at Flapjack, seems to recognize it, and then goes berserk. My theory is that Flapjack was somehow related to the original witch that Philip's brother chased into the demon realm, and seeing as how Philip most likely killed that witch and his brother for loving that witch, it makes sense that he would recognize Flapjack. Furthermore, seeing as how Hunter is a grimwalker made from Philip's long dead brother, this theory also explains why Flapjack took to him so quickly, despite the fact that he was being kind of a jerk.
I still find it crazy that Luz name means Light, which freaking foreshadowed so many things on screen.
Here’s another thing: when the collector is crying and sitting alone, the box he’s up against looks remarkably similar to a star box from Kirby
Something I never noticed before until now, but the dude who got the Illusion Sigil at 3:29 gets paler as the Sigil runs through his body! I wonder if that was true in other cases where people received sigils?
Thank you so MUCHHH for putting that Raine plays the Viola. I remember seeing music sheet in the show with alto clef, which is for violas.
As a violist, Im quite sad to find I wasn't paying enough attention. Let's pretend I either forgot or just saw alto clef as normal at the time 😅

Also, 2:48 is so interesting, I never saw that little detail before but the idea that Caleb is the one that carved the mask for Philip, who then hid behind fancier and fancier versions of that mask as he rose in the ranks to become Belos, is kinda... eerie to me. Like Belos' whole fake identity revolved around a nice thing his brother did for him, at least in a visual sense.

One little detail I’d like to point out: I think raine’s instrument is actually a violin, not a viola. In Eda’s requiem, they play the melody but an octave higher at the end. That requires going into third position on a violin, but it would require going into seventh on a viola. They’re clearly very good at shifting, when they played the high note at the end, not as a harmonic, but actually with vibrato, but it looks like they only go into third position in the episode. Although, I don’t know how they even play the song with a flat bridge(the a and d strings are impossible to play on their own), so maybe I’m just over analyzing it. I’m just really excited about the fact that there’s a character who plays the violin and is really good at it.
Another thing i find interesting is that the bat vee gave to camila before she went to the demon realm is similar to the bat beta luz has in the drawing by dana
Ok but noticing king's glyphs on his shield was a HUGE catch, even after several rewatches I never noticed that super cool detail!
The Owl House really delivered. In the first two minutes, an owl led some girl to a house, and in the last six minutes, the same owl led the same girl to a house.
