I met Billy once. I said "Mayonaise is my favorite song." Billy said thanks and that was it.
The end.
awesome
Sounds about right for Billy lol.
still better love story than twilight
Is anyone sayin' "cool story bro." anymore? No, just me. ok.
I'm surprised he just said that. Usually he has more to say given all of the interviews he has been in. XD
First heard this song at 3am Christmas morning in 1993 after finding the album in my stocking. Some things in life really stick with you.
That’s awesome
Nostalgia is a beauty. I felt that.
Great memory to have
i love this
Awe Santa’s so good 🎄
I tear up every time the distortion kicks in, this song and the whole album are a masterpiece
Owens Music BS yessssss❤️
it’s okay bubby, don’t cry.
It’s a beautiful distortion sound. Beautiful song ❤️
Their best by far
Absolutely... One of the best songs and albums of the 90s decade!
Seeing all the older folks in the crowd is a beautiful sight. You just know they are having a massive nostalgia trip 😌
As opposed to 20 year olds? The median SP fan is probably in their 40s now
A present trip My friend
Best song off the best album!
I discovered this whole album in 2003. I was 8 years old. Dad gave me a Sony CD Player and a bunch of burnt discs in a CD book and said to me “here, get cultured. No son of mine is not going to go through life not knowing what real music is” and to this day I am still in utter love with this band and many others from the 70’ - 80’s - 90’s. They do NOT make music they way they used to.
You're ole man knew whats up.
Hell, they dont even play instruments
If you were lucky enough to grow up during the early 90's, you lived through music history.
Oh absolutely! 👍
so much for being born in the late 2000s
Yeah, but dont forget people who lived in the 70s ;)
Music always a lightning moment, and next very dark ones.
I am pretty sure than this strange time will bring us lot of good artist and things to say ;)
Spoil alert: there were good things in the 60s 80s and 2k10s too ;)
Bands passing, but musical memory stay.
@@johannsimonot the 80s were great!! New ORder, depeche mode, the cure etc
@@yncasasue9721 wow you know 3 bands for depressive kids, from the 80s. Impressives.... :D
Thanks to confirm my words ;) 70s and 90s have much more great bands...
I remember there was one time where Billy Corgan was holding an AMA on instagram and I told him that his music helped to get me through some hard times of my life and he said "K Cool"
that made me laugh so hard, sorry
He lost a strand of hair for everytime someone told him that in the past.
That's why he's bitter about the fame
This comment and the following comments that have been left here have really helped me through a hard time today.
@@diddydoo5299 k cool
@@diddydoo5299 im so sorry I just had to get the joke. I’m sure that day was hard and I’m sorry you had to deal with it
I still get chills on the intro. This song never gets old.
Billy messed up the intro lol 0:18 .. but really really nice save @0:23
Never! Great Song
look at all the people that we're teens out there reminising of when they first heard this in 1993, just bouncing side to side to the tune of Mayonaise, fool enough to almost be it, cool enough to not quite see it.. Best lyrics ever
Agreed. I'm that same "Teen". Best song ever!
always old to always be there, always old i'll always feel this
I remember when I was younger seeing my dad crying why reminiscing to some of his favorite 50's music. I've never forgotten that. I will be turning 50 this year and now I know exactly what my dad was feeling. The 90's was just that for me. I bought Siamese Dream after seeing the video "Today" and played that tape over and over. I still love that album and can say The Smashing Pumpkins is one of my favorite bands. This song, the album brings so many great memories. Thank you, Billy, James, D'ARCY and Jimmy! Love and Peace!
All of us kids that grew up in the 90s and loved the Pumpkins. It will always belong to us. I'm proud of it. It was beautiful and it's beautiful to reflect back and be sad that it's gone and fadding a little each year..
I too turn 50 this year. I know what you and your pops were feeling
I feel exactly the same way.
Recently I heard my 17 year old daughter playing this album in her room. She told me she loved it. I didn't introduce her to it, she just came across it on her own...but I teared up when I heard her learning to play this song on the piano.
I'm taking her to their show in a few weeks!
This is their best song, I can't hear it enough.
Bring back D'arcy!
@user-qd2fh4ti7k thats so awesome. If you know, you know. Siamese Dream will always be something so personal ans special to me. It brings me back to this feeling of youth, love and exploration. It was a soundtrack to that time. If you get it, you understand
well said!
27 years later and this song still floods me with joy, sadness and hope simultaneously
Like no other😌
Same!
AMEN
I grew up in the 2000s so I only knew their popular tracks. Heard this song for the first time yesterday on Spotify and god damn it's one of those songs I wish I had come across a lifetime ago.
Same
Couldn't of described the feeling better
Billy’s voice is so unique and nostalgic for me as a 90’s kid. His live performances are always impressive
1:07 "they called it shoegaze because when the bands would perform they would stare at their shoes."
The Smashing Pumpkins count as Shoegaze? I thought they were Grunge/Alt. Rock.
@@seekthineselfcultivateyour3657 no lol i was referencing the meme, the guy was talking to the girl and she looked uninterested lol
@@ktakyon Oh, okay.
Born in 1977. My highschool years were 1991-1995. This album was GOLD to us and many others during my highschool years.
What a beautiful thing at the start with Billy and James playing guitar
2:10 Well that guy recovered fast after got friend zoned at 1:09 LOL
ain't nothing but a thang bro
Why did she friend zone him? That was jacked up
he never recover, he just compensating
@@SkywalkerExpress yeah by having fun
2:10 no more promise no more sorrow, no longer will i follow
Still for me one of the best songs ever written. It’s good to see James with them again some people don’t realize just how much he made the pumpkins.
How did he make the Pumpkins?
@@TheAlibabatree they don’t exist if he doesn’t join up with Billy, up until then it was a fake band Billy would say he was part of
James created the chord progression and those lovely arpeggios in an alternative tuning. Just one example of what he brought to the Pumpkins.
@@theFarren What?
@@AB.BABY. He is credited as cowriter for like 3 songs, out of like 300. Im not saying he didn’t bring anything to the table, but the Pumpkins were always 95% Corgan and Chamberlin.
We’ve lost so many of the greats from the early 90’s, I am happy we still at least have SP around.
James and Billy strumming guitars together - it's so beautiful - 💚
Nobody in the audience realize what was happening on stage. Always loved this song. The best SP song for me.
This song makes me ( an adult male) always tear up, since it reminds me of my best friend that passed away of cancer in 2005. every time he was my passenger i used to blast it and he loved that unique distortion sound.
I know what you mean. This song hits my soul.
Sorry you lost your friend. I lost my best friend to cancer at age 28. This album reminds me of him.
It was the best years of our lives and we didnt even know it. ❤
god, James plays his intro/outro perfectly. his tone sounds just like on the album for Mayo.
5:47 always makes me wanna cry and smile because you can see how important this is to billy and james and u can tell it is a time to remember
James Iha and Billy are just a force to be reckoned with on guitar!
If you grew up teenage years in the 90s , you wish you can time travel back to 1993 whenever you listen to this song
2:41 "boop"
Didn't even notice that wtf, that was so fast!
Natural harmonic fifth fret low E string. On the record it's james doing the harmonic and billy's guitar is so overdriven his feedback when he mutes all his strings harmonizes with it.
@@philiom7724 what?
@@Stringer13ell what
@@philiom7724 exactly
Happy birthday, William Patrick Corgan! 💖 Thank you for writing the soundtrack of my life..
Actually Iha wrothe this song :)
@@tomasribeiro2298 Nope, he only came up with the chord progression.
Guy at 1:07 trying to convince his girlfriend to stay with him but with no luck after she saw Billy and James on stage and hearing their melodic sound.
I met billy once, was a bit afraid to have my hero be a dick...he was so gracious and nice, looked him in the eyes and said Thankyou for it all, he knew what i meant, then just normal guy. Course i left before i fanboy too much haha , leave while ahead?
Was my neighbor when I lived in Chicago in the 90... great guy very normal person...miss those days....
I would have asked for the Hot Asian chick
Fool enough to almost be it
Cool enough to not quite see it
Doomed
Pick your pocket, full of sorrow
Run away with me tomorrow
June
We'll try and ease the pain
Somehow, we'll feel the same
Well, no one knows
Where our secrets go
I send a heart to all my dearies
When your life is so, so dreary
Dream
I'm rumored to the straight and narrow
While the harlots of my perils
Scream
And I fail
When I can, I will
Try to understand
That when I can, I will
Mother, weep the years I'm missing
All our time can't be given
Back
Shut my mouth and strike the demons
Cursed you and your reasons
Out of hand and out of season
Out of love and out of feeling
So bad
When I can, I will
Words defy the plans
But when I can, I will
Fool enough to almost be it
Cool enough to not quite see it
Dull enough to always feel this
Always old, I'll always feel this
No more promise, no more sorrow
No longer will I follow
Can anybody hear me?
I just want to be me
When I can, I will
Try to understand
That when I can, I will
Yup me cruising late night in the 90s with this song on full blast
What a sight seeing an older crowd belting this coming of age tune. Beautiful really
Best song ever ❤
Man my middle and high school years right here. Will never be a better generation of all types of music as the 90's
Idk, I think these crazy times we live in will produce some of the greatest musicians we've seen in a long time.
One of the Greatest songs ever made…. Still brings emotional chills whenever I hear it… 🎸🎸
love you Smashing Pumpkins...you saved my life lot of times...
All our time can't be given back
Watching Billy and James play this song always makes me emotional, especially now that they’re older.
I don't know, it feels so soft and soothing for the heart to hear the old songs with all most the old line up, cause it feels like they grew up, matured, but these songs still take special place in them and us.. 💙 thank you
@1:09 Welcome to the friend zone, buddy. Grab a seat. Gonna be there a while.
Sad :'(
I know how it feels bro 💔
It gets better
He had a murder of the universe shirt....
I wonder if she threw up?
This is the song of my painful days forever
Mayonnaise….’My Own Eyes.’ Being a fan since Gish (30+ yrs) & just read this recently. William really hooked us. 🥰 My heart & soul is with this band. ~ 15 yr cancer survivor. 💙

Billy is an absolute motherfuking guitar Guru here
Brilliant and beautiful
thanks for uploading
One of my favorite Smashing Pumpkins songs.
Still amazing to hear, the guitar at the end was a beautiful finish.
This song such a beautiful sadness in my memory many yrs pass us by. .i still love this song and when I can i will
I love this song so much it's have been through a feeling of despair and sadness I have always feel more than words can explain how beautiful this song is and when I can I will.. missing you so Billy
1:08 That's a mood, I've had so many of those moments when I'm drunk.
First time hearing this song and album I was blown away at 17 and this stuck with me. All the songs in Siamese dream I listen to when in high school but this song first was with me and helped me evade people talking or if was when I’d heading home to catch the bus to pass by people and turn up the volume to hear and began thinking. 💕
This moment from the beginning of the melody it's cut deep down in my heart such a beautiful of the darkest sky and then I begin to crying inside of my soul just don't wanna know what tomorrow brings to our lives anymore
Somehow I still love this song it's beautiful and so painful never get this song out of my mind 28yrs and forever you
De haber estado en ese concierto, escuchando esa canción, habría llorado como un niño, tiene demasiado significado esa canción. Que hermosa es. Gracias The Smashing Pumpkins por hacerme sentir de esta manera ✨
My God what a great song!
こんなシーン見れると思わなかったから感動です、イハ❤️😉
Whatever these guys did in therapy together or just on their own has paid out in the most incredible way. Pumpkins have never been as good as they are today and it makes my heart so happy, but I’ll always get chills watching the connection they share on my favorite part of my favorite pumpkins song.
Mayonnaise is one of these songs that never gets old 😍😍
I was 16yo in 1993when i first heard this album, and In these rifts i found the beauty of life, myself , and my existence for love. I'm 42 now, and still feel all that beauty/Love times 100+
Dios.... Cuantos recuerdos con este tema.... Nuestra época....los 90.....el grunge.... Dios salve los 90s....
A beautiful moment!
Man that was beautiful !!!
I got this album for my birthday in 93. I remember having a different emotion to every song and calling my friend to mutually listen on corded phones. Best day ever.
That guitar is haunted, just awesome!!
Beautiful.....
Here from BEEF on Netflix
I tried to play this in a talent show when i was 12, i fucked up the solo but still got 2nd place.
310 thumbs up, 1 thumbs down....We get it, D'arcy. You're still mad.
And just like that, we're all 90s kids again for a few minutes 🤗🧒🏼
Best song they have ever done amazing 🤩
Damn what a tune! It’s really up there on my list. Maybe even #1
Agreed. I used to skip and ignore this song. Now that im older it means much more to me than their heavier songs.
I saw them live a few times when i was but a youngling .... just excellent
My fav sp song! Love it
I’m only 23 and this song is my ultimate favorite off Siamese Dream and it somewhat makes me calm & sometimes it makes me tear up as well.
Possibly my favourite SP tune. Takes me back to 1993 and much simpler times
Straight rock , sounds soo full yet it’s really just 2 guitars bass and drums .
It’s that 2nd chord that hits during the verse , just has that ringer of emotion/kinda dark but full of feels
I’m thankful for many things in life, and being a teenager in the 1990s is one of those things
Epic Song love smashing pumpinks
Lyrics to this song are fucking 👌. Like everything else about this song. This song has getting me through for the better part of 30 years.
One of my many Summer of 93 Anthems, was 18yrs old, 1st serious girlfriend, 1st time leaving my family for the US Navy, ...man, TONS of memories...beautiful song
How has life changed for you since then?
I detested growing up in the 90's but being a kid in love with Smashing Pumpkins during that era to now is something I genuinely appreciate.
Lmao you don’t understand how lucky you are
MY ALL TIME FAVORITE!!!!
Can't stop the feeling of painful days of my life wishing on the 🌟 underneath my darkest sky crying inside the truth of my soul
The pumpkins changed my life. They made life good for the last 30 years. 😊
My all timer favourite
