if you're going to miss fire pots then I'd suggest targeting the cutting off of enemy retreats/reinforcements. enemies are more likely to walk into fire behind them. burning teammates that are surrounded is good strategy too. i get 10+ hits on firebombs sometimes.
oh but you can, with but i flick of the wrist, in war, sacrifices must be made. best way I see to make the difficult decisions is to not hesitate to turn the tide of battle at the cost of one soldier.
