Are you tired of wasting apple scraps after making apple pie, apple cake, or cider? Well, we have a solution for you! In this video, we'll show you how to make homemade apple scrap vinegar with just a few simple ingredients.
Step 1: Gather your apple scraps. These can be peels, cores, or any parts of the apple that you don't eat.
Step 2: Rinse the apple scraps to remove any dirt or residue.
Step 3: Place the rinsed apple scraps in a clean glass bowl.
Step 4: Add 2 tablespoons of honey or 1 tablespoon of sugar to 4 cups of filtered water and stir until dissolved. Pour the honey water over the apple scraps until they are completely submerged.
Step 5: This will help feed the natural yeast present on the apple skins and kickstart the fermentation process.
Step 6: Cover the bowl with a clean cloth or towel. This allows air to circulate while keeping out any debris.
Step 7: Store the bowl in a cool place for about 1 to 2 weeks. During this time, the mixture will start fermenting and turning into vinegar.
Step 8: Stir the water twice each day.
Step 8: After one week if using sugar or two weeks if using honey, separate the scraps from the liquid by straining the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth to remove the apple scraps and any sediment. You'll notice a tangy smell and taste.
Step 9: Pour the liquid into a mason jar and allow the vinegar to sit for two to four weeks covered with a cheesecloth. Stir daily!
Step 10: Stir one last time, transfer the vinegar into a clean glass bottle, and store it in the refrigerator. It will continue to develop flavor over time. I used clear glass oil and vinegar bottles - 🌟amzn.to/3O6tnQ8
Next time I get bottles, I think I'll try these dark green glass bottles instead - amzn.to/48UgnoG

Awesome!
This is amazing. We are going to try this
It's super easy and if you're already buying apples, all you need is a little honey or sugar and water.
Wow.. never seen it done with honey and it works the same way??
It seems to work exactly the same keeping in mind that fermenting with honey takes longer than sugar. If you try it, let me know how it works for you!
@@SweetHerbinLivin After I wrote you I watched several videos and read a few articles and two people had tried honey and it took longer to ferment and had a slightly different taste so I just went with the cane sugar... :))
@@user-vx7hg3nn4v - I’m glad you did what works for you.
