    So VERY happy to see an up-to-date review on this beautiful bike. It's been hard to find and research the 2006-2012 (my personal favorite years) of the Daytona 675 and this video is very much appreciated! This is a great review on a great bike!! Thank you!!!

    Great video and history of the 675. I own a 2007 gen 1 daytona 675 to this day with only 9000km on clock. Have Kineo spoked wheels on it and numerous other parts and it still gets attention to this day. More videos like this are needed 👍.

    The shift lights are programmable. Normally the shift lights come on in the high rev range to let you know you're about to hit the rev limiter. The owner must have set it to 5k rpm for some reason, maybe because of fuel efficiency? Also the thing on the left in the dashboard is nog a fuel gauge but a temperature gauge:)

      @@JustWrightHD I've never ridden the 675 but if it's anything like the mt09 the mid range fun just makes you want to nail it all the time and it's risky when the front end lifts effortlessly even in third, I doubt it lifts so easy on this though

    Hi i recently passed my test is the triumph daytona 675 a good bike to start out on?

    • @saifaldin_
      @saifaldin_ Před 9 měsíci

      Yes.. and no.
      It’s easy to control the power - very smooth down low. The torque is not too crazy but does come in early and in a linear manner. It’s a fast bike that’s also easy to ride slow.
      Not ideal for beginners in the sense that the riding position is very aggressive (even more aggressive than most 1000cc bike’s i’ve compared it to). So for beginners, it might feel a bit awkward.
      I also think that a more ‘standard’ riding position is more beneficial for the learning process - practicing slow speed stuff, technical corners etc. It’s also more forgiving on your body (more hours for practice)
      Ultimately, it depends on rider height and weight as well. If you’re tall enough, the ergonomics of this bike might not be a hindrance to you.
      I’m a small guy, and I’ve ridden a daytona daily for the past 8 years or so.. it’s quite comfortable for me (well, up to 4 hours at least) But i don’t think i’ll be comfortable on it if it was my first bike.

  • @stevesas632
    @stevesas632 Před rokem

    Is the 2013 onward years more comfortable position, or exactly the same?

    • @FrontWheelUp
      @FrontWheelUp  Před rokem +1

      I haven't had chance to ride the newer version yet, though I can't imagine it would be a whole lot different in terms of comfort.

    • @saifaldin_
      @saifaldin_ Před 9 měsíci

      Not exactly the same, but not that different either… I would say slightly roomier but still the same in terms of the aggressive posture.
      I’m a small guy, but if i ride the twisties, my elbows still overlap my knees 😂 (2015 daytona)

    • @FrontWheelUp
      @FrontWheelUp  Před 2 lety

      I'm approx 5'10. The 675 might feel abit small for you, I found my knees were sitting quite high on the bike I rode for the review. With that being said, it's a really fantastic bike...I could only suggest arriving a test ride so you can see if it works for you.

      I've had my 2011 675 since September last year and I'm also 6 foot 1. I find it fine, longest journey has been about 6 hours by which point yeah it was pretty achey but honestly I think if you're used to sports bikes (like I am) you shouldn't have too much trouble with it

    Has anyone actually measured the seat height? When I look up specs I see everything from 32.5in to 34.1. I've read that it's really tall and I've read it's somewhere in the middle of all the Japanese bikes. I've read that you sit in it and I've read you sit on top of it. Basically, everything I've read is conflicting lol. I'm looking at getting one mainly for trackdays but I will be using it on all day rides on occasion and I don't want a super aggressive riding position.

      I've just bought a 2017 675, I'm 6ft1 with a 33 inside leg, & it's just about right for me to the ground. Compared with my old ZX7R I'm more sitting on it, than in it as with 7R. I notice upper back & neck ache after about an hour but better on my wrist compared with 7R. Feels much quicker to respond with everything, throttle, gears, brakes & steering.

    Disappointing that he presents the history so confidently when it's clear he's not researched it properly and hasn't gone beyond reading Wikipedia. His telling is littered with misinformation and omissions that, judging from the comments, are being accepted as the actual gestation of the platform which is simply not the case. To completely ignore the influence of the T595 and then to suggest the Daytona 675 was in someway a development of the TT600 platform (simply because they built a couple of mules in chopped up TT frames) is just plain wrong.

      @@FrontWheelUp Thank you for being civil in your response to my post. I don't mean to disparage you personally only to raise awareness that your understanding, and thus your history lesson, is somewhat lacking. Though they don't include the birth and development of the 675 series you might enjoy reading 'A Phoenix from the Ashes' a short piece by Julian Ryder. Triumph's own in-house videos, 'Building on a Heritage' and 'Triumph is Back' (which are probably on CZcams) are also worthy of a little of your time. If I can find a link to the development team's story of the 675 platform I'll edit it in later.
