Bloons is a popular Flash game where you pop balloons with darts. Each level has a certain number of balloons that you are required to pop, and some levels have special balloons that either give you powerups or affect other balloons around them when popped. Thanks to its popularity, Bloons has received various spinoffs, including a tower defense game named Bloons Tower Defense.

it's hard to imagine a world where the bloons series of games weren't the tower defense formula like they are today
i wish they werent. the flash bloons games were better. i miss bloons world
There was bloons super monkey 2 which released recently ish (like 2018 if i remember corrrctly) and is more a of a shoot'em up kind of game
They also had a Bejeweled-like game, think it was called Bloons: Pop 3

Funny how many elements from the original Bloons managed to translate so well to Bloons Tower Defense and it’s successors. Except for the Pac-Man power up, I don’t really think that has a proper equivalent in any BTD game.

I'd say the successor of the bee balloon is the Beekeeper agent in BTD5, maybe the upcoming beast tamer tower in BTD6 will have a callback to it too
maybe the necromancer path for wizards in btd6? kind of a stretch, but it's the best i can think of

I never forget this game, but whenever I try to find this game, I found balloon tower defense instead. Definitely unforgettable because it is one of the first games I played on computer!

It felt satisfying see some of the levels that gave me trouble even with unlimited darts (14,26,42) get demolished
The image of Kanata at the start made me recoil. Fitting for a game about monkeys though. Great TAS!

There is something so charming and loveable about these old flash games
They all had such simple Mechanics but it was the creatively of how those simple mechanics were used that brought us back to play it even more as kids
I loved how PAC-MAN made an appearance in this masterpiece.

Rather fitting this just came out when BTD5 just turned 10. I remember playing BTD3 back in like 3rd grade. Good times. Couldnt beat this game for the life of me though

Loved the OG bloons games as a kid. Ironically, it seems like BTD took off like crazy and is where most people recognize the series, but I only ever remember the first one

This tas could be improved. Considering it's a tas, I have no idea why he waits for the needle to hit the bloon before tossing the extra darts.
