Reducing his bass to where is barely audible in the entire album of And Justice for All… Hazing him beyond belief. Hazing is one thing of welcoming him to the band but doing it for 15 years straight would be enough for me to punch both of them in the face. This is usually an incident or case of “you don’t know what you had until it’s gone”. I also can’t forgive them for not letting Jason experiment or be free to contribute to the band.
1:30 - 2:26 is my favorite portion. The entire solo is fire but Jason’s melody from My Friend Of Misery and Kirk’s swells here are simply beautiful together.
I read somewhere that, Cliff is a legend, Robert is a very good player, but Jason is Metallica, it can't be more accurate than that, bring back Jason for the last tour for the last album..

For me personally Jason was Metallica, he was the heavy, angry , sorrowful aspect to the band. They created the best tracks with him in my opinion and I will always adore this performance.
That angry sorrow really was instrumental to the feeling of old metallica and it feels lacking today. I don’t want the bad to feel like that though haha

Rrobert Trujillo is a bass god. He just belongs in Suicidal Tendencies and Infectious Grooves. Joining Metallica might have been a dream come true for Rob but anyone that knows what he can really do on bass knows Metalllica has robbed us of hearing Rob's thrash slapping with Suicidal and his funk metal insanity with Infectious Grooves. The man is truly too talented for Metallica.
Cliff, Sweden is honored to have a stone in your memory at the place for your passing. We are sad that our roads took away one of, if not THE most talanted base players of all time. But hey, Jason you took his place with great honor and talant and honestly I think you are just as much Metallica as Cliff was. Trujillo is also a super talanted basist and a true Metallica member but will never replace or top the feeling Cliff or Jason gave us fully.

I picked up the bass because i saw the my friend of misery intro live at a cover band concert, right then and there i ordered the bass. i`m now the bass player of a metal band which is writing melodic metal.
I doubt anyone connected with the fans better than Jason did while he was with the band. He was exactly what the band needed at a time when they were struggling with the loss of Cliff and other personal issues.

I grew up playing Kirk's parts in the Cunning stunts videos. These videos bring me back to being a kid jamming for hours and hours along to this video, times were much simpler then. When Kirk comes in with the Ernie Ball Volume pedal and those swells, it's what makes Metallica amazing. They take you on a journey with their music. Certain pieces from the past literally can take you to a different place if you close your eyes and let the music speak. Metallica forever!

Always been a huge Metallica fan and for me all of their best music came in the Newsted era. There was just a different energy and aura about their music back then, especially live...they were the biggest and best band in the world in the 90's! It's not about Burton vs Newsted vs Trujillo.
