Just be aware there are legal limits on max altitude. Typically 400 ft above launch point, or if you are doing a high rise building or structure, max of 400 above it's tallest point. No one wants a remote id visit from the feds.
I'm really curious about the Air 3, but having bought and loving the Air 2 S I''m not going to run out and get one. The Air 2 S does everything I need for the foreseeable future and I like recording in 5.4 K, which allows me to use the Ken Burns effect without any quality loss for some pretty neat shots. Thanks for your detailed comparison. Probably the best I've seen.

Yo man, cool spot in the beginning! To get audio into the controller you need to plug in a mic via the USB port, the DJI mic works great but also there are some lapel mic's from sennheiser that work too
Oooh. Good to know. I’ll try that. Mostly to make it easier to synch to other cameras. Have you been able to get it to record to the sd card ? I’ve switched it so mine shows it is but when I pop the sd card into my Mac I can’t find any of the recordings.

I bought my Air 2 when it was on sale because of the Air 2S. After having it I wished I would have got the Air 2S. I want to get the Air 3 since it is an upgrade from the Air 2 but don’t want to have that same feeling when the Air 3S comes out. I just fly for fun and I’m trying to learn more of the photography side of things to be all around better. It’s a great hobby and maybe a fun job after retirement.
Then the air 4 will come and be better than the air 3s. So gotta pick the battles and just get it or we end up waiting for the next better one all the time.

i was not expecting day shots to have any difference but was surprised to see they did! people focus on sensor size and not how it's built too much i think.

My Air 2S has been getting the job done. Btw, your 2s vs 3 video is the only one I have seen with such a big difference in quality. With most reviews it looks about the same or only slightly different.

I have had the Air 2s for just over a year now. A month ago I just purchased the Mavic 3 Classic and honestly I haven't even touched my Air 2s at all. I love my Air 2s, but I do wish I waited a few more months for the Mavic 3 Classic! Amazing drone.
Hi, Sean. What do you know about Drone Mapping? I get that it isn't available on the Mavic 3 Classic, Mavic 3 and Mavic 3 Pro. I know it is in the Cine and above. Do you know if these drones just aren't capable of supporting drone mapping software. Seems all that is in the programming of the controller, because the drone only does what it is told to do, software wise. What's your take on that? Thank you, Sean!
I have never messed with it personally. The guy in this video does it regularly if I’m not mistaken. Hopefully he sees this comment and can get some info your way.

Hey just found your channel. I'm in Colorado Spings too! Just upgraded from the Air 2s to the Air 3 last week. What's the name of the spot you took these shots from? Been looking for some good spots to fly!
I live in summit county and was just meeting up with Bo who lives there. Not sure the name of the spot. Was near Rudy’s barbq though.
I own and love both. However, if you were worried about the 1" sensor vs the 1 1/3, don't be. If you ever fly at dusk, the Air 3 smokes it. Occusync 4 is a game changer and so is the omnidirectional sensors. It's damn near the Mavic 3 pro in features. For the money, easily the best drone available. IMHO.

The only thing I miss about my Air 2s is the Smart Controller that I bought for the Mavic Air 2 and used with the Air 2s, but is not compatible with the Air 3. Its screen is 1000 nits.

the 700 is ok but i will never complain if it was brighter. so far it's done pretty decent over all though.

I have the air 2. Love how it is so small and the bag that comes with it is small that whenever I go overseas I can just put the whole thing in my carry on backpack along with a bunch of other things. The new Mavic Air 3….is it (and the bag that comes along w/ it) pretty much the same size as the Mavic Air 2? It looks slightly bigger from the video. Thanks!

Ascend at 10 m/s is 5 mph faster than ALL DJI Camera Drones, including Mavic 3 series Inspire 3 (matches it at descend)
The sensor is also DUAL NATIVE ISO.

Only kept Air 2S to use my Insta360 Sphere. Thats a great way to break the little tabs that hold the gimbal cover above the camera. Press the BOTTOM and remove, just like the sticker on it says, lol 😆
I do it both ways. Just depends on my mood. Lol.

Nice video the Air 3 video is easy to spot because the shadows are darker and the video looks over sharpened in the standard format. That is my observation from CZcams Premium with higher bit rate. It From what I can see through CZcams, is that the the Air 3 video seems to be very "digital " and clinically better like a really good phone camera. (I exaggerate to assist my point). By contrast the Air2s video looks natural and more "movie like". To me just on the video images its the Air2s. Because my audience can get involved in my story telling more comfortably. I wonder if in years to come if the drone market will look back in search for drones like the A2s for that "look,", like in the camera market, i.e Fujifilm?
Remember, you can film at 24 frames a second, and change your sharpness among other things in the air three these are all Auto settings.
Why were u able to bypass the 1640 max height limit ?is this because of ur location .or just a new feature for the drone ??

If the Air3S comes out with a one inch sensor and a 3X zoom then Ill probably upgrade but it would be nice if they offered variable aperture for the Air3S which would be a game changer for the air series 👍🏽💯
Make sure to watch towards the end about the sensors. This outperforms the 1” day and at night. Now if this tech is in a 1” watch out. That would be even more mind blowing.

Keep in mind the ones after that will have improvements also. So might as well wait for those so it’s an even bigger jump up. 😜
Great comparison. I still prefer the Air 2S. The dual camera (3X) is nice but for 99% of the world the Air 2S zoom will be just as good. I do understand the difference in the Digital and native Zoom but again, 99% of people flying will never notice the difference in a parallax shot. The Air 3 is newer tech and the only clear winners here for the Air 3 (In my opinion) are the Battery Life and the O4 transmission system. Thanks for sharing.
Even the 1x camera looked so much better during the day. I was so surprised at that. Figured it would only be at night you’d see the big improvement.
Nice video..I will be waiting for a DJI Air 3 S coming next year hopefully . :))) The image quality is not good enough to upgrade from the DJI Air 2 S and spend another $1500 usd.

Love the video my man, but you are the third person I have heard say that they did not put a mounting solution for lanyards nthe controller and they absolutely did. There are 2 screw holes on the bottom of the controller to mount screw in lanyards I bought the lanyard for $15 on Amazon screws right in. Just wanted to let you know

Can I tell you a story? When I was a kid I was really into TV, on a kind of connoisseur level. I had lists of pretty arcane shows I wanted to own copies of (this was years and years before VCRs, etc). Sometime in my 30s this interest stopped cold...but I didn't notice. I used VCRs to watch TV for me. At one point I had a stack of unlabeled cassettes that reached the ceiling, full of recorded TV I thought I would want to watch...someday. Someday never came and eventually that stack of unwatched tapes bashed some reality into my thick head.

The footage I save is mostly from blogs and events I use as b roll in other videos. So if I talk about something I can show it. My problem now is when I started saving it I didn’t organize it worth a crap. So now I’m going through trying to do that and let me tell you, that is crazy time extensive going through that many hard drives to move footage and photos around to make it easier to find the footage u might want. 😂😂😂
If it was all 4k it would probably be 10-20 hard drives. Lol
Tell me about it! I now try to think of absolutely everything in terms of a project, so I don't end up with a ton of "possibly useful" stuff I can't even find. It's a daily challenge, since it's just so damn easy to shoot now. When I was making 16mm films in school, raw footage cost about $20/minute (inflation adjusted). That tends to focus the mind wonderfully.
I realized how bad I need it organized differently during one I’m editing now finding overlay clips when just saved in a vlog 1-2 - 3 folder is impossible. Lol.
Bro I am so happy I got my air 3 but, the altitude limit is just 500 meters there is no settings that I can extend it to 1000 meter

I have The Air 2s I like the The Features Of Air 3. Sync 4 ECT....But it's Not Enough For Me to Drop The $ For The Air 3....But once The Air 3s Comes out....Now we Talking Definitely worth The Upgrade...Imagine a 1 inch Stacked Sensor...Think I'll wait And See.

17:30 That is one of the few hassles with that controller. I can't access screenrecordings in a normal way either. Strange. And yes!! Where is the audio, or ability to record like on the normal smart controller with USB-C. And indeed, switch camera/lens without having to stop recording. I hope DJI will fix that. For the rest all praise to this one!
2000% agree!!! it shows it is recording audio which would help in post to synch clips. also shows recording to sd card but nothing is there if you insert the sd direct to the computer except a bunch of empty folders.
@@SeanOzz I wonder if still it would be possible with the single USB-C port, maybe as an update. It is so strange DJI does not include a simple mic (and input) on controllers. It would cost almost nothing, and Android on the controller supports it already. Thanks for the review. Nice seeing the for altitude adjustent there in the mountains :-)
I plug it into my computer usbc. Open Final Cut and import into a project from there. So far it’s the only way I’ve been able to get any files.
The pro one records audio. This one says it is but has none.

There is no optical zoom on Air3. There are just to focal lenghts 24mm and 70mm and nothing in between!
That’s true. I guess I just referred to it as that since it feels zoomed compared to the wide angle. I do miss the old Mavic zoom I had. That was awesome up in the mountains.

It's hard to tell quality when your upload is only 1080P.
watch on your phone and poof all you can see is 1080 even if your phone says it's 4k. unless you go maybe 50+" on a tv 4k doesn't really make a huge difference....
my viewers are about 80% watching on a phone then split between tablets and computers with even less watching on a tv so 4k (for me) hogs space. i have 8 hard drives full of 1080 footage and really don't want 20+ hard drives for a couple people to watch 4k currently.
my 65" tv upscales this and other 1080 videos nicely so difference is very obvious. might be time to upgrade?

Don't yank your gimbal cover off from the top - you will break something on the Air 3. You are supposed to lightly press the bottom of the gimbal cover upwards and it removes smoothly and easily. Tip - read and follow the instruction manual. 😀

Definitely a person by person case. For me it’s a huge jump for my needs.
The Air 3 in no way “dominates” the A2S. Minus the airframe improvements the camera frankly sucks. It’s a Mini 3 Pro main camera and a Mavic 3 Pro 3x camera with no digital zoom, only 3X fixed optical. It’s also not compatible with the $1100 RC Pro controller. Maybe the Air 3S or Pro which will have a 3x optical PLUS digital zoom, a REAL improved 20mp, 1” sensor and variable aperture camera and compatibility with the RC Pro controller would then interest those of us who have been flying the A2S for over 2 years to upgrade. Otherwise it’s a big waste of money that you could put toward the Mavic 3 Pro.
