"Between Shades of Grey" is a really fantastic book! I read it in my junior year of high school (I'm in college now) and I still remember it very vividly. Septys writes beautifully, and I think you'll enjoy it a lot! Happy reading!

Between Shades of Gray was a really great read. It was written for young adults while addressing an issue that is typically shielded from young adults as it is a harrowing subject. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

The Name of the Wind is hands down one of my favourite Fantasy books. I read it right after I read Mistborn and, seriously, it's so good. I even think it's better than Mistborn. It's just so, so, so good. The world building is insane! And the sequel! And Auri's novella! Honestly, it's beautiful and heartbreaking and I have no doubt in my mind that you're gonna love it.

My books for 2015 are pretty much all those sitting on my bedroom bookshelf. I went bananas buying books last year, in no small part due to the fact that I started watching book tubers, such as yourself, and wanted to do nothing but stay home and read. Needless to say that did not happen but now I have tons of books that I'm excited to read.

***** I personally don't like A Song of Ice and Fire but I know people who do and who also love Way of Kings and The Name of the Wind ^^ Though the style of those 3 series are extremely different!
-ASoIaF is low fantasy with barely any magic (at least in the beginning), set in a pseudo medieval world with lots of sex, violence and weird politics. Few to none actually likeable characters.
-WoK: A world like nothing you've ever seen before and a new, complex magic system (High fantsay), nothing too explicit or crude, amazing epic story, set in a universe common to all of Sanderson's adult fantasy books (so adds a layer of intrigue and complexity that's mind blowing and an extra bonus for re-reads), characters that will make your heart bleed.
-NotW: More of a "poetic" story, focused on the story of 1 man, it truly is a one of a kind book/series. I don't know of any book I could compare it to.
But I'd advise reading some other Sanderson (Warbreaker or Mistborn) before getting into the Way of Kings because there is a lot of world building in that one (since, you know, it's setting everything in place for an incredible 10 books saga..) so most people actually struggle with approx the first third of the book. So if you don't know Sanderson's work and trust that you like it, you may be too tempted to give up and that would be a big mistake haha :P Well, sorry for that novel-length answer. I hope it helps ;)

I got station eleven as an ARC last year and it was fantastic, highly recommend it. I'm halfway through the miniaturist and seriously Jessie Burton's writing is phenomenal, it's really gripping since the beginning and if you ever happened to be in Amsterdam you can see Petronella's miniature cabinet house in the Rijksmuseum!

  • @thetalesofasphinxandaunico5796

THE WAY OF KINGS! I read it last year and it was soooo good! I think it might be better than the mistborn trilogy (which i read a few years ago and since then I've waited for another book that can compare) if it's actually better is hard to say as it is basically a 1000page long introduction :) I'm sure you're gonna love it!

I think the reason The Name of the Wind is such a wonderful series is because Patrick Rothfuss follows all of the rules that he sets in his magic system and it's SO REALISTIC and just wonderful and ahhhh... Though I am lucky if I know what I want to read the following month let alone the rest of this year, a few books I hope to get to are: 1984 by George Orwell, a number of books by Kelly Armstrong, to finish Alegiant by Veronica Roth, City of Ashes etc. by Cassandra Clare, Still Alice by Lisa Genova, The Devil's Queen by Jeanne Kalogridis, Bitterblue by Kristin Cashore, Emma by Jane Austen, Game of Thrones #1 (lol yup haven't started) by George R. R. Martin, and possibly more I can't think of at the moment. Whatever hits my fancy at the time.

Did Regan really say post-apocalyptic without having any struggles? 😮 Really love this list, I see adding most of them to my 2015 wishlist! 😉

I'm looking forward to hear what you think of The Miniaturist! :) I read it in January, and thought it had such a slow start. After the pacing picked up, allowing me to finish, it just left me feeling indifferent. :/

I loved "The Girl of Fire and Thorns", one of the best series I read and finished last year (right after "The Seven Realms").

Omg I hear you on Last Sacrifice. I read some of it when it came out but never picked it up again. I need to read it so I can read Bloodlines!

Between Shades of Gray is SO GOOD! If you actually didn't get to it in 2015, get to it in 2017!!!!
