Is this ice slide tapping rhythm useful?

On Trial By Ice by s314ke, I discovered a (new to me) mechanic where I tap steer, then add accelerate, then release both & repeat ... to maintain a very specific trajectory. I don't know what it's called.

- May 10, 2024: I've played with this mechanic on other ice maps, and it seems useful for rescuing some mistakes. I could envision a map that forces you to use the tapping rhythm rather than a regular ice slide to keep an ice slide with less turning. It's really hard to do though, so usually i just don't even bother trying.

How do I find this I looked up trial by ice on the club campaign but it doesn't pop up

From trackmania exchange. If you're on console, I don't think you can use tmx. You could look for "s314ke" in clubs, as that's the author of the map. Maybe they uploaded it that way. If you're on PC, you'll probably wanna get openplanet for plugins & there's a tmx plugin.
