Which Digital SAT practice test service is the best? Who provides you with the best tests at the best price? That's what we're looking at today. In this video I compare 5 DSAT practice test providers: Princeton Review, Supertutor.TV, The SAT Crash Course, Test Innovators, and Score Smart.
I focused mostly on the English portion here because I suck at math but I can tell you they all have the features you'd expect from the math portion as well including the integrated DESMOS calculator.
I reviewed quality by looking at how accurately these services simulated the Bluebook app, how well formulated the tests and questions were, and whether the questions had explanations (and if they were any good).
For quantity I simply looked at how many tests were available for you.
The value rating mostly looked at the price per test. I also considered whether you get access to any additional material, and took quality into consideration as well since saving money doesn't mean much if the product is crap.
Big thanks to the SAT Crash Course for helping me make this video by providing access to some of these services. Even though they were collaborators here, I genuinely believe they provide the best service out of these 5, and the data backs that up.

Thanks for taking the time to check out our platform!! Just a few comments on the review of our product.
    1) We are not just an SAT practice test platform-- we are compared in this video to some providers (such as ScoreSmart) that ONLY provide tests-- or other providers that focus on providing tests-- we are a turnkey self-paced prep course PLUS several practice tests. The value rating and calculation appears to focus only on our test content (calculating a cost per test)-- obviously some may only be looking for tests, but our pricing assumes value for our other offerings as well.
    2) Value-rating wise-- please note our course includes video tips and review content-- hours of it equivalent to what I cover in a 10+ week prep course. Other features we have include a Bluebook import tool that allows students to import data from their official tests and create customized study lists of these lessons based on exactly what they missed. (we are not associated w/ College Board)
    3) This review was done on our BETA mode of the course. We are currently adding more content-- we have 4 live tests now, and almost 900 math practice questions-- the equivalent of over 13 math practice exams, but sorted by type so you can drill down content as opposed to approaching it at random in a test. The video shows/evaluates the verbal practice modules, where yes, at present we are still adding to our content offerings, but I don't think it gave us any credit for our robust math practice sets. At the time this was published, we did have only a few practice items for each subcategory for verbal (Command of Evidence: Quantitative or possession for example). Currently we have 33 items in Information & Ideas, 39 in Craft & Structure, 14 in expression of ideas, and 73 in Standard English Conventions. This is currently equivalent to almost 2 verbal practice tests. My videos also cover other examples. We plan to add about ~200 more verbal practice items in the next month (again the equivalent of another ~2 practice tests) as well as a quiz creator feature from our question database. We are also planning to add a PSAT practice test this summer, bringing our total "equivalent" tests up to around 9 by summer 2024, and will add tests 5 & 6 from there. We're a small team -- and working to ensure high quality material as we roll more material out.
    4) Yes our verbal tests are tracking harder than the real exams. We have adjusted the scoring on our Test #1 to this end so students hopefully get a score closer to range but should expect to miss several more questions than they may be used to missing and as data comes in will continue to adjust scoring and/or questions. Re: our math tests we're actually planning to increase the difficulty level and reduce the "Desmos-able" quality of some questions based on user feedback from the March SAT -- they were tracking well to Bluebook exams on scoring but this seems low compared to actual exams at this point. We are iterating and always welcome feedback!

Just wanna say I am always happy to hear replies like these, and I think you've got a solid product out there that's definitely worth consideration. As you (and I in the video) pointed out, I was 100% focusing on mock tests and while I did try to take into consideration additional content that might be available, I wanted to try to keep it as objective as possible. Plus, it would have taken a LOT more time to really sit down and analyze every aspect of additional content and I wanted to keep this relatively straightforward.
I was not aware that this was still in development (at least I didn't notice any obvious "this is a beta" messages when logging in), but it's great to hear you're adding even more value to the program and creating more content. Hit me up if you'd be interested in having me take a deeper look at what you've put together or getting some feedback.

Princeton review's practice tests felt unnecessarily more difficult than the bluebook ones. Their math problems felt more complicated than the standard math problems I've seen so far everywhere, and their English problems had subjective answers which SHOULD NOT be the case for SAT English. I genuinely liked watching your review, it's very informative!

I used to use some PR material in the pencil-and-paper SAT back in the day, and it was precisely to provide an unfair challenge lol. I edited that out of the video cause it was already super long but I would save PR tests for the very end just to show what NOT to worry about and to remind people that sometimes a question just sucks and you should move on instead of panicking for 5 minutes. Glad you liked the video!

@@score-yourcollegecounselor yeah, they're just very extra! I've consistently scored above 1550 in my bluebook practice tests (peaked at 1570), and I took two tests on PR and landed a 1460 and a 1400 lol. I was so horrified with my results, but then I did some digging and found that their questions were a little much and had quite a few problems. Great content, super concise. You just earned a subscriber!

Totally my experience as well, and thanks for the sub! I got a lot of older stuff here that you might find helpful, and I got some new stuff in the works for 2024 applicants. Waiting on the IACAC conference to get some more inside info to share too so that'll be coming up soon.

? that was not the case for me for some reason, i found the math in princeton review much easier but that might just be me

      @fvehed Před 22 dny

@@elryen592 probably. It depends on you though. My June SAT result came out a few days ago and I scored a 1550 with a 790 in maths. I had a lot of trouble with princeton review maths. I just think princeton review can be very subjective, and it's not ideal for the test-taker.

Hello!! I’ve been watching your videos for a while now specifically the ones with how to apply to Spain. I’m really confused on how to apply to Universidad Europea de Madrid and don’t know what to do or how to apply. Their website is really unclear and I would really appreciate some advice on how to just start my application there if you have some info on it. Thanks a lot!

Europea is pretty easy to get into, just have your high school diploma (or grades so far) translated to Spanish through an official government-certified translator. They have a button on their website "solicita información", somebody will contact you, but it's a total safety so you don't have to worry about getting rejected really. Also, they like whatsapp, you can hit up their admissions number which is on the site also

Hello Mr. Counselor! I just got likely letter from Columbia University. Do you know anyone who got this letter and still got rejected or smth? I also want to thank you for the free opportunity to advance our professional careers! You helped me a lot during this journey!

Bangstar! Good to hear from you, I've personally never had a student get one of those so I don't have much experience to speak of but it sounds like a good sign! And thanks for following along and all your support, really glad the channel helped you out!

Hi Bangstar, I also recently received similar letters from Yale and Harvard and decided to do a bit of of research about it. Essentially, top universities such as Columbia will send out letters to students who scored above a certain range on standardized tests, generally the PSAT, to get you to apply there, just so they can reject you. In doing so, they can reduce their acceptance rate (since # of applicants increases, but # of accepted remains the same) which makes them look more prestigious. In reality, only a tiny percentage of those who receive such letters and apply actually get accepted, typically around 2%. It's a sneaky way to reduce the acceptance rate, but it works.

@user-jm4ck7jg2u Oh I believe you have confused "likely letter" with "marketing letter". Likely letter is sent AFTER application is sent not before.
