I'm not into "gurus" so to speak, but one author that has helped me completely change myself and my thinking is Mark Manson. I bring him up because I read something he wrote on this topic that really stuck with me. He said, "The willingness to be disliked is a superpower".
I couldn't agree more with that statement :)
@@reinventingpoppy i did not get it, please any explanation.
I've suffered from this my entire life until reaching my 60's, I realize what a waste of energy this is. Good for you at a young age to be letting go of others assessment of you. It's nobody's job to "get us," it is our job to "get ourselves." I think some of this worry is both from being highly sensitive and super conscientious, both wonderful personal traits, but troubling if not channeled correctly.
I didn't go overseas to work like most of people do. I had my reasons not to follow them. I'm committed on making things work locally. Playing the long game since I already know what my life will look like when I achieve that point. Clarity is a blessing. I can literally see and feel what I'm going to become.
I was bullied many times in my life. I fear other people's opinions. Thanks for this video❤
Similar story to me, you've got this!
Immersing yourself in self-growth literature and nurturing your spirituality and connection with God will naturally diminish the importance of others' opinions in your life. It is crucial to bear in mind that the vast majority of individuals who may have criticized you or whose viewpoints you value are likely grappling with their own insecurities and uncertainties. Therefore, expending your time and energy worrying about their judgments is counterproductive. Genuine self-awareness is a hallmark of those who are secure in themselves; they do not seek validation through the opinions of others and are unfazed by praise or criticism. Focusing on others' perceptions is a drain on your emotional well-being.
The key lies in embracing your true self, without compromising for the sake of others. Those who appreciate you for who you are will naturally gravitate towards you, while those who do not are not meant to play a significant role in your life. Drawing inspiration from the works of authors like Louise Hay, Deepak Chopra, and Joe Dispenza can provide invaluable guidance on this journey of self-discovery. By cultivating self-love, gratitude, and becoming your own ally, you will begin to see people for who they truly are. Recognizing the facade that many individuals maintain will liberate you from the burden of seeking approval from others.
I have been implementing this bc I struggle with believing in myself and then stood up to ppl belittling me or just ignoring when ppl don’t like me and my boss couldn’t stand it. She made it her mission to get me fired and talk bad about me, give me poor reviews and said i discriminate when I have done nothing but intentionally try to be a fair and kind person. I don’t want to care what others think but this can also ruin your life to an extent and I rationalize it by changing the narrative: that place wasn’t for me
That’s the beauty of life because you can create your own journey. I definitely feel the same way
Absolutely!!

Thank you for sharing your advice, 😘
Thank you Poppy
Thank you for sharing this tip and I will try it. I've been too hard on myself all my life and I always CARE what others would think of me because I want to be liked. Even if they don't say anything to my face, their actions are so loud and maybe they don't mean to hurt me, I am hurt because I overly care to be with them. Since the end of 2022, I was going through some horrible disgusting relationship (family & friends) issues, I decided to shield myself and learn to STFU more, hence, I focused more on myself. This action did not make my family members, especially, happy but I just didn't care anymore. No matter what I do or did, all that are remembered are mostly bad. Can people learn to remember more of what we did good instead? It's so mean you know. And most of the bad comments I've received were from "Positive Vibes Only" type of people. Are they genuinely positive? I wonder. Also, am learning not to take everything thing too personally. It's not always my fault. Living a life as an introvert and HSP. gah~
Turning 30 this year, I'm glad I've found this channel
