Toyota Tacoma Loose Steering Clunking Noise Fix

This 2003 Toyota Tacoma had loose steering and a clunking noise.... you can see why haha. Make sure you check you rack and pinion bushings lol. Hope you enjoy the video.

Hello Phillip my 04 Tacoma clunks when I drive over a speed bump is it my rack n pinion bushing ?

You should get it checked out. Could be that or other things. Like a worn sway bar end link or a ball joint ect...

I took my 03 tacoma for an alignment the mechanic talked me into changing all three bushings charged me around 200 for all three. You 🤔 think it was a descent price?

Ok so I get that same exact knocking but I’ll randomly get it at a stop or red light? Is that weird? I won’t even be moving. Could this be it?

That whole rack is bad to the left of that bushing the rack is leaking everywhere prob bad seals he should be replacing the rack and that bushing

Yes if you're paying someone the labor to remove the rack and reinstall all new bushings you should always just replace the rack with an OEM unit anyways. Steering racks are rated for right around 150k.

That is the WORST example of the bushing problem I've ever seen on one of these trucks. Easy enough fix though.
