- Hiking 400+ Miles Across Iceland 4 - This place is INSANE
Me and my good friend Cheesebeard set off on our traverse of Iceland, from the North-West corner of Iceland hiking on foot all the way down to the South coast. This is video four in my hiking vlog from the trip. I hope you enjoy the journey.

Criminally underrated CZcams channel. Thanks for everything you’ve done for our community Pie. We are all sincerely grateful…
It’s amazing the things you would’ve missed if not for the time off for injury, there is always a silver lining in every situation
True!
Wow this is an Adventure, congratulations to both of you!
It seems a hike where you really have to face yourself and the power of mother nature, seeking an equilibrium that goes beyond everything.
Thank you for sharing your true experience in such a beautiful film!
Simply breathtaking! Your filming and editing are amazing!
So good dude. Just caught up whilst packing to move. Perfect accompaniment. Love the soundtrack. Also took me three videos to realise I could watch in 4k! Stunning shots.
Holy crap those volcano shots were mad
Wishing you both healthy bodies quickly so you can complete your awesome hike.
dude. that storm when your tent collapsed. i feel you. had the same in a heavy storm in the mountains. holding both poles to make it through the night.
Wow This did not disapoint! Land of fire and ice sure lived up to its name, I nearly lost my drone on my last trip, so I feel your pain, excellent as always, thanks for the great footage,
Im starting the Pennineway next weekend, cant wait!
Very fun to see your footage from the Laugavegur, brings me back to my trip there several years ago. My experience was equally majestic and awful at the same time, haha. Had a really bad windy night in camp one night as well, though I anticipated some bad weather and was carrying an extra half dozen guy lines - still didn’t sleep though. I don’t think that wheeled bridge was there, we had several very sketchy fords that looked like that anyway. Great memories.
Thank you for showing the up’s & down’s of thru hiking
Really well done.
My fiance and I ran into you both while drying your tents. I had no idea how hard your trip had been you both were in such high spirits and very kind to talk to me. (I wish I had asked for a picture!) 24 hours before we saw you we had the WORST weather we had ever seen, it felt like we walked into 20-mile winds for 20 miles after days of rain. Sincerely though what yall did is no joke and incredibly hard! Your channel has really been a joy over the years and inspired me to go down the ultralight rabbit hole and how I found a Gossamer Gear bag for my partner. (I kinda think we are that pair on the hill!)
admirable - both - the hike and the videos!
Amazing video again! So sad you lost the drone 😢
Great vids Pie. I’m hiking across Iceland this summer doing a similar route (westfjords to hofn) and these are videos are hyping me up so much
@@pieonthetrail I have a couple gear questions if you have some time to answer.
I have the same tent as you, your tent collapsed once but in general it was able to stand up to the winds?
And warm weather gear, did you wish you brought more or was what you brought sufficient?
Iceland looks amazing, gonna have to make plans to go
Spectacular views (and some great memories revisited) ! No volcano activity last time I visited but your footage was sensational. Is there any camping permitted off-trail (not in a campsite)? I've heard that you can apply for licences (or maybe that is not in this location)? I'm thinking of photography at sunset / sunrise. Cheers !
Another quality video 👏
Your series on the high routes in the sierras really altered my view of hiking. I can’t thank you enough for making this content.
What an amazing adventure so far! The volcano footage was over the top.. (no pun intended). This journey is definitely one that test you physically AND mentally. Can't wait to see the finale.
I've been blown away by this whole series, it is amazing. Thank you.🔥
6:18 looks like the waterfall scene from "Prometheus". I was always curious if that was a real place.
What an absolutely gorgeous upload, beautiful weather and surroundings.
Wow, some more setbacks. Seems very challenging and for strong individuals only 😎👍 Love the landscapes and viking atmosphere you put in these videos
This video series is incredible, thank you for taking us along! Also you have seriously valuable advice for hiking in persistently bad weather, which is typical of Northern Europe and severly underdiscussed on the hiking tube, imho. Thank you!
Folks, be mindful of the water sources near the falls. There's some footage out there of a very tall chap that was stranded by his mates, and he ended up ingesting some sort of DNA altering pathogen that ultimately liquefied him at a cellular level. OK, in all seriousness, that was just wonderful stuff, man. Thanks so much for sharing!
My unsolicited personal opinion: no drones permitted in public lands.
Also, RIP drone.
