- **Please note, I no longer use and cannot recommend Dixie Belle Paint products due to highly questionable business practices, contract violations, and unethical treatment of artists and retailers that led to mine and numerous others resignations in late 2021. Please see the links below for more information. I have chosen to leave this video content up for learning purposes only, but highly recommend considering other products when trying to achieve these same techniques. There are too many good product brands on the market to support a brand with these practices. I've included links to my most used options below

I just tuned into you, and also just moved to North Carolina from the Sacramento area for the very reasons you described after mostly living in CA since 1976.
Folks love their chalk painted furniture here. This is a gorgeous piece.
Thank you. Easy to follow. Beautiful work.
Absolutely beautiful work. I know I'm late to the party but WOW.
Hi Brandy I love the color you used on this piece. Is there a CZcams video of you painting this piece?
Beautiful work! You are my favorite furniture painter. ♥️ How long from clear waxing can we use the glaze?
You waxed before the glaze? Thanks for the chat about CA. I appreciate your honesty and cander. I live in FL and have never been to CA but from what I'm hearing and seeing, it's a tragedy, what's going on there.
You do beautiful work. Can you show the final piece completed. I have some furniture which I feel I would like to sorta copy your style. Thank you.
Hey there... I’m painting a piece of furniture cream colored. I want the corners and the depressions to be an antiquie looking of brown. What techniques and/or products do you recommend?
Beautiful
Great work beautiful
Hi Brandy, do you wax all your pieces first?
Do you have to still clear coat before the glaze when using Silk since it has a built in top coat?
How do you make it look so easy and so beautiful? I need help!!! Im new to this you tubing, so i dont know how i can send you email (or however), Or do i send it thru this message? You are the best Artist and teacher that i have seen. Thank you for sharing your talent with everyone. Please let me know how to explain what i did and how i can fix it.. Thank you
Suzette
I just love this piece! You inspired me! Do you topcoat all the piece when your done?
Yes, I always seal in clear coat
Hi there! I love your techniques and blend of colors. New to this. If you use a wet wipe does paint come off?
I always seal my paint with a clear coat
I’m glazing a piece now.. why is your glaze so dark? Mine is going on blue which I know it dries black but it’s very hard to see the effect as I’m glazing a blue piece 🤷♀️
I'm in corpus same here
I used this glaze on my chest of draws i painted in metalic silver and i didnt see it like i do your glaze didnt see black or anything i dont know what i did wrong!😔
Why such tiny vertical screen?
Would it be easier to use a dark glaze to age the edges than a dark wax? I just can't get the hang of wax. Thanks.
wyzski try putting a clear wax first before you do the dark wax. You won’t “stain” your piece with the dark. Wax seals the piece glaze highlights a piece so if you use glaze make sure you seal it with something else. 😊
What color paint to you have for your base? It looks like two different colors almost.
Two coats of dixie belle stormy seas, vintage duck egg, and driftwood. It is written up on my website at brushedbybrandy.com
Brandy ..I have a question: I'm retired on a budget BUT i have paint that is water based...in eggshell, semigloss can I use these to blend paint with water until I can make an order with Dixie Bell?
Eggshell and semi gloss are usually descriptions of latex paint. Unfortunately its not as simple as adding water. You can find diy chalk paint recipes online and try making your own, but they will perform very differently
You have to have the patience of a saint to watch these videos!
Yes, I prefer my learning videos succinct so sometimes I just fast forward and other times I turn up the speed. 😁
If you were decoupaging the centers, would you glaze first?
Could do it either way
Brushed by Brandy thx
Do you do this for your home or to sell
I do pieces to sell, but have quite a few in my home as well
What color glaze did you use?
Valspar antiquing glaze
Is glaze like a stain? If so, why not stain?
Glaze is water based, most stains are oil based, harder to clean up
Confused different s between glaze and wax
A glaze is a liquid and wax is s solid. They can be used interchangeably sometimes. Wax is also a protectant and glaze is not
I was born and raised in CA. I left in 94 to colorado. Then they passed the pot law and RUINED colorado overnight. Put my store in denver out of business.
Should be legalize
Any way to make money off your property
bravo ...excellent work but very bad video .......sorry
It is no different than seeing and smelling someone in public whether they are drunk or reek of stale cigarettes because they smoke too much plus can't keep the odor down.
You just have to explain the dangers of each product. Explain that cannabis used by adults can be just like drinking alcohol so that if you do either you need to be responsible. Smoking cannabis might cause you to have bronchitis but you can't die from a smoking session or have a hangover. But you can die from drinking too much alcohol in a short amount of time and then there is the dreaded hangover.
On the flipside, long ago they used alcohol in medicine and still do in OTC products. But they are good for children. They thought smoking cigarettes was healthy and calming for the nerves. Now they know it causes cancer. Using cannabis medicinally can help so many different medical problems without the degradation of organs because it can be used in so many ways besides smoking.
Cannabis can be used for children and the elderly which are both sensitive to medications. It is amazing what it can do to help those with without adverse effects for Parkinson's, epilepsy, and other neurological diseases of the brain.
❤️ God created cannabis. Man created alcohol. I would go with what God made. 😁
