      It's for enthusiasts that want the very best for 4K gaming or productivity and likely want even more performance. While I personally would buy the 3080Ti instead which gets close enough in gaming cause that's all I do.

We hardly gotten to the point where GPUs are 4k viable and a lot of 240/270 IPS monitors on the market many (including myself) are still calling 1440 the sweet spot. Let's face it the card will mostly be used for 1440 or 4k gaming and just has more vram than needed for certain editing tasks.

    This is what I don't understand. There is a certain group of people that will buy this just to play CSGO or something that a RTX 3070 or even less can handle. Nothing is going to stay the best forever and will be succeeded by a better product eventually. Most people want the best when it will not be used to its potential. Really sad how its got now. Gone are the days where if you had a Q6600 or a Q9450 you still had a solid pc in 2011, now if you have for example a 8th Gen Intel, some people will tell you it's obsolete when it's still usable

    Yeah pricing aside, is that power draw and heat. I'm good with my 3080 and 5950x. With a total system power draw around 400w, that's about the limit I'm comfortable gaming with. I'm all watercooled and it gets toasty. I can't imagine the heat this monster gives off, even more so with the 4k series coming up.

    • @schwartzmatthewe
      @schwartzmatthewe Před 2 lety

      It’s really not bad. I don’t notice it at all and mine is mining when not in use so it is constantly on. People over emphasize heat etc. Now, if you have four or more running in a smaller room, that’s a different story. During the winter, that scenario is fine but during the summer, that room can get hot particularly if it has a lot of windows in it. My Corsair 360 aio keeps my 12900k cooled perfectly and it is very overlocked. My 3090 ti never goes above 94c at it’s hottest point which is frankly really impressive after the heat house of the 3090.

  • @KaedeSmithOfTheKiller7

    Another thing I want to add:
    There is no shortages of 3080 TIs where I live. BestBuy in Canada has tons online and seems to have a ton in most locations. No one wants them for the price they're selling for right now.
    These cards are ridiculously overpriced right now even at MSRP.

      exactly and the ones that can afford to buy it outright can afford to buy 2...as consumers cry about the providers not reaching their needs constantly with their WHY WHY WHY narrative nobody NEEDS XYZ I NEED ABC...this level of GPU power/potential is for work, content creators....or the vapid. AND To the naysayers i constantly ask them to rationalize if they ever ASK rich ppl that have car collections WHY they need more than 1 if they cant drive them all at the same time. Its the logical equivalent IN my eyes...BC they really MISS the point while trying to put themselves in the shoes of affording something they cant. Same ppl that put cheap tires on their luxury cars/suvs/sports cars. OR never wash them. These GPU belong on 4k/VRR oled panels for TRUE gamers of 4k/PVE/AAA genre or MMO/RACING SIM. True large format enthusiasts/gamers....or agian devs/content creators/editors. Otherwise its just something for ppl that dont really grasp the concept to COVET. WHILE acting like theyre going to buy a 6500xt....or are going to run a 3080 with a 4ghz-4.2ghz non k intel 7th-9th gen cpu....or zen-zen2 4-4.2ghz cpu....and WONT have bottlenecks to a point where your 3080 is yielding 3070 FPS numbers...bc of cpu/ram bottlenecks. AND Cpu from a clock.ipc standpoint and L cache...and this is going on while ppl are trying to drive 240hz 1440p panels with terrible sub max refreshrate image reproduction capability. outside of the odyssey G7 line....plus those are VA vs a 500$+ IPS panel designed for COMPETITIVE SHOOTERS lmfao. That cant even manage 8ms and VRR with a AAA game on maxed. To think the industry has endured this level of consumerism and END GAME outcome....for the last 3+ years with advents like "g-sync" when in reality VRR/freesync is the saving grace of countless laptops and even gaming pcs countless at sub MAX refreshrate in these various AAA PVE titles. 8k makes sense to me bc of aspects like PPL having to stream in 8k bc of bitrates with twitch being so low....and down scaling aspects esp if they want to record/move the content to YT for added monetization. THIS can largely be a huge money motivator in teh quality of content a person can generally produce as well as timeline of production. I can only figure these 500$+ flagship IPS panels are being written off too. BC theyll be replaced within 1 year...Not to mention aspects like sponsorship to content creators. FURTHERING oh i got a 3080 in my build....streams card game/moba LUL

    • @anhiirr
      @anhiirr Před 2 lety

      no excuses bottom line....either buy a laptop hunker down...or a console....for a "BETTER" market/pricing like any reasonable wage earning adult...or stay up for a product/inventory and get the GPU you "want" by this "point" since launch i would have saved enough from 500-550$....TO BUY 3070 since launch date JFC....and the fact that most consumers cant even follow this rationality. WHILE thinking what? the next gen thats faster/better will sell at a lower price? lmfao. I cut out drinking/going out b4 covid just to afford a bike....which turned into multiple gpu/builds instead that i sold on the side so i could fund my own personal build w.o having to go too deep into pocket. While working 40-60 a week....IDK no excuses i wasnt even earning a high wage/salary....you just have to have goals in mind....i even got to trade up from a 3070 FE to a 3070 strix for MSRP difference at launch pricing....thanks to discord. PPL are just making excuses...if you had 500-1000$ set aside sep 2020....no excuse to act like they coulndt have added 25-50$ a month since then to that stack to allot enough money towards a gpu purchase after the prices rose...tariffs were effective. Its half the reason i was in such a rush to get 2-3 gpu so if i didnt get a 4k capable gpu i could trade up to a trader. Sold them to gamers happily playing on them with no insane price gauging on the build talking near same day post/sold builds...with older/spare parts i had lying around 3950x/3600 10600k bc building systems using/testing them and selling them is a hobby of mine. I guess working AF and constantly buying/moving parts and knowing price points and which on sale items are great deals vs MSRP pricing really helped there. I even traded/exchanged a 5700xt for the 3070FE....the sales rep said....so what if you didnt get a 3080....buy this open box 5700xt for 380$.....then return it if you come in and get a 3080 or when the 3070 launches....exchange it....GENIUS sales rep. But still b4 work/after work id check for 3080s....when they were closer to msrp....then selling an entire build and wondering if i should buy a 3090 or 6900xt which was really out of my budget....and cut into my hobby/build funds. I mean i sold my 2080ti for 850$ bc i wanted to buy two 3080s...and got none and had NO GPU....for a month(bought a 5500xt) in like AUG of 2020....i mean i did it ALL was SOL gpu less bought replacement/placeholder gpus....this is the PROCESS i and others went through that....others wouldnt even shed an ounce of effort towards....let alone budgeting or working overtime etc....then complain about not even justifying the cost of being on the EVGA list for a 400$ 3060.

    I am kissing my newly bought $1500 3080 TI right on its lips...it burns, but it is a sweet burn knowing that I got a great deal. The beautiful part about it is that it will not lose any value. My old 2080 TI is still worth the same price I paid for it back in the day.

      XD if not better....sold my 2080ti strix in sep 2020....didnt snag a 3080...got an open box 5700xt tuf evo....exchanged that 3070 launch day for 2x 3070 FE with the exchange+ 2080ti money.....traded a FE for a 3070 STRIX....and now to my knowledge it "FULLY MINES" as i try to see its price point they have a V2 edition to my dismay...or so i thought XD i thought mine was flawed etc...bc the V2 surely was a better iteration/vbios perhapse....XXD it was just LHR. AND mine is Full hashrate....and i dont even mine...but BC of that my GPU and FE have appreciated in value to above the 1000$ price point just bc of their mining viability and with the state of economics and emphasis on mining as the year and a half past theyre doing better than retaining value....i hope youre in the same boat bc im sure thats why the 2080ti if you still have it is holding such a good value....Prior to the 5700xt tuf...i got a 300$ 5700xt STRIX from a panic seller like the same week i sold my 2080ti just incase i didnt get a 3080...which was true....then i put the rest of my gpu $$$ since i had enough to buy two 3080s....into a 10600k build to sell the 5700xt strix with...luckily for my friend it the build went to them and i gave them a homie discount....otherwise PAIN i saw the 5700xt strix going for 700$+ even 800$ asking on ebay etc. I got a friend sitting on a 3060 bc they still have a 1070...and im telling them now or never move the 1070 for 300$+ while they can while the gettings good. Then sell the 3060 and get an even better GPU like a 3070ti for around 800$.

      Yeah, I just got lucky yesterday during one of Best Buy’s drops and got a Founders Edition 3080ti for 1199.00. It’s an awesome card. That 3090ti pictured in Elric’s video is the Founders Edition at 1999, but the one by the regular board partners like Asus etc will be 2199 to 2299. That card looks to be huge and require a minimum of 850 watt power supply and a recommended 1000 watt unit.

      i mean its all justified if youre talking about gaming off a 2000$ 4k tv....and its the difference in your favorite PVE AAA game having stuttering...lower variable refresh rate/frame yields paired with bad vrr perofrmance. The only remedy is more FPS via DLSS or a bigger-badder more spensiver GPU and to ppl with this level of purchasing power....they wont be burdened with QOL issues. PLUS theres always the "FUTURE PROOF" aspects like not knowing how newer engines or async oriented API via DX12 ultimate/direct storage win 11....or vulkan. AFFECT the overalls "down the road". PPL that can afford these things dont really worry about what its worth to them....OFTEN they buy multiple gpus a year or per build...doesnt surprise me just means 2nd hand gpus for offer. And if they arent power users good system health too. BUT idk i have a 3070 STRIX which i got from trading up from a 3070FE for msrp difference like +130$+3070FE....and ive ocd the strix to 2.1ghz 8000mem....it hits 15k on 3dmark. Which is good enough for me bc i dont have a 4k panel. AND dlss works well on 21:9 thus far. I mean i look at games like deathstranding which has huge DLSS viability. Even DLSS in warzone is nice for improving fps/frame times and looks better than 2560x1080 in res....or 3440x1440 down scaled 75%. SO dlss forsure with its AI does help with sharpness/noise reduction VS SIEGE per ex....its not as noticable image quality wise....but fps totals/1% lows and frame times....DLSS is also a winner 1440p+DLSS vs 1080p vs 1440p 75% scaling.....dlss had better overall operation and frame times. But like yeah i couldnt imagine playing valorant/siege/go off a 1200$+ gpu .....as theyre seemingly free games to play as it is....and the TRI HARD ruling on those type of shooters is to run a TN 1ms panel....which i could also not IMAGINE myself doing when purchasing/paring a 3080GPU to my build. YET nvidia has yet to release anything around the realm of what the 1660s-1660ti brought to the table. IDK i follow a basic/principled methodology of not judging ppl that have the power to buy w.e they want...as well as my own stance that if youre spending 1200$+ to play various free games cs:go/valorant/siege/apex/warzone.....as well as some bs lilke a 500$+ 240hz IPS panel that boasts 1ms reponse times at the expense of insane overshoot/ghosting in any scenario where your pc/gpu/game has less than 240fps(Outside of the VA samsungs hence....IPS) flagships...so bascially any non shooter on "low" outside of that gaming scenario youre talking terrible image quaity or disabling overdrive/turbo to which you better hope your monitors innate response time is in the 5-8ms ballpark with OD off....BC AAA titles its as if most ppl havent seen BENCHMARKS that theyre barely reaching "g-sync" level FPS on 1440p...much like when BFV launched....and could barely touch 144 fps in 1080p maxed....with the best gpus at the time. YET offered g-sync and reflex if you lowered the settings obvoiusly...and raised the frame cap from 200 to more to drop frame times by adding a frame buffer on top of Monitors MAX HZ. YOU buy these 3080 level GPU for that FRAME buffer....in titles like warzone which are somewhat hard to run at a high fps and high image quality sweet spot. AND you have to STAN those games to be willing to invest taht much for a conceptual "COMPETITIVE EDGE"....whilst getting fragged in cross plat by someone...on console....IDK all i know is the testing between the 3070 and 2080ti in RDR2 was interesting to see more core utillization/gpu utilization in vulkan for both but an even higher % for the 3070 same settings etc. But this was pre dlss...never got to test with 2080ti RDR2 for dlss. My buddy has an evga 3080...we were playing D2 Reborn...i told him to install afterburner and check his temps.....bc i knew they were going to be high on max...i was playing half on desktop 3070....and off a 4k amoled laptop....so i already knew....and ofc his game was on max uncapped XD.....and 80c gpu. Told him to put a frame cap of 120 and boom

    card belongs in the hands of ppl that are some how smart and well off enough to invest properly elsewhere....so that they can spend on tech like this that has no return on investment or any type of methodology like that connected to it...the type of ppl that buy the M3 GTS bc they want the "DOPEST" m3 but then put it on airbags bc they didnt like the stock ride quality. KINDA ppl that put 20k in parts in a miata and a 13b to bag it and roll that enigne never past 5k. While scraping their manifold. These types operate outside of the realm of reason and i want to say 50% of owners of this 3090ti will be of this operating level while the rest will either be content creators or developers. That actually have a use based on some feasible returns with this product while using it. IS it any different than a 3000$+ 3080ti laptop...which also wont be in the hands of "CONSUMERS" but more or less ppl that want superiority at any cost LMFAO AS if they even know what ghosting/overshoot is and how to calibrate it out of a panel. Theyll be out here trying to play 8k with granularity and noise up the waazoo from all the overshoot/ghosting. BUT hey its as if playing anything other than racing games/fifa/pga golf like as if im gonna play warzone in 4k if the GPUS are viable tomorrow....what a NONSENSICAL narrative. ANY more than TN not being the most ideal panel type for competitive twitch shooters. AS 500$+ IPS panels boasting super fast capability arent riddled with image quality issues below their max refresh rate as it is going on years now.
